I'm whining about the change to opening the FS slot not against the permadeath thing. My fear is SOE will make it wholly quest drivin unlock instead of mastering professions.

IF this is done, then you'll have a couple quest oriented npc's that will hardly ever spawn and that hundreds of folks will be gunning for (typical soe quest system)

I've done 16 professions so far, I don't want to stop now and start all over. I realize SOE stated they'd track how close you are to unlocking but from past experiance they have about a 60 percent chance of screwing this up. Its just not right to change the rules to something like this this late in the game.

I stopped reading the threads in this this forum about 2 months ago when the majority of you were whining about how hard it was to get your slots unlocked. And now I come back and you're whining about the revamp? Have any of you read the details? They said all the hard work you have been 'grinding' through will carry over. I cant believe I came back and what a shocker to find thread upon thread of whining. Whining is definately NOT a prerequisite for opening you slots. And lets clarify a few things while I'm hyped up...It said quest oriented, you will still have to master certain professions, and you will in addition have to follow Jedi related quests. I dont know why anyone can bicker that eighty percent of the players will be Jedi, not nearly 10 percent of them will even make it to Jedi Padawan. Valcyn has several guilds that rely on the current professions. I dont know what game you are playing but to my understanding, 80% of the players here enjoy pvp and playing their profession. Just because obtaining a FSCS is a little clearer and obtainable than it is now doesn't mean I am going to throw away months of collecing attachments and building a solid pvp character to play a Jedi. The way I see it, the whining twelve year olds are the ones who want to be Jedi so badly, they will get their chance and they will fail miserably because they lack the attitude and the committment to play a Jedi, which results in population control. The maturer players who obtain Jedi and acutally make it far enough throught the tree, they are controlled via skill loss upon death. I am satisfied with removal of permadeath because if you have already unlocked your slot then you will see the countless amount of exp required make it through. Do you understand how emotionally stressful it would be if say 4-4-4-4 until Jedi Master were to be slain and had to recreate his character? With the revamp, this character would drop to say 2-4-4-4 rather than lose his entire character.
