Thread: Darein's BH Guide (Post-CU)
OK, got my first kill tonight. It was a 30K payout(the lowest I have seen) I was worried he might still have some combat proffs, but he never used any, so I am not sure if he did. one thing a friend told me was that he was to high a level with his combat profs to grind his glowstick, so he droped all but his Jedi and scout skills. He told me it was easier to grind but also was a disadvantage to PvP for him right now. I think after the CU alot of them found this out. (we can only hope)It is still a worry we all have when hunting low lvl paddies. As the poster above stated, the easiest way to find low level jedi on the terms is look for an individual or Anonymous as the mission poster. NPC bounties are from guilds and groups. I do have one question. Should I feel bad that the jedi was of the same faction(Imperial)? Naaaa... I got a job to do and hopefully as a Mpistoleer/MBH with Carb 4/0/4/0 I will do fine. Good luck to all of you in your hunts and GREAT POST!!!

There is another way - NPC missions are posted by Bounty Hunter Guilds, while the Jedi bounties are posted by an private NPC, or by "Anonymous".
But the easiest way to get your Jedi mission is to sort by payout (click the column heading),
sub-30k bounties are rare, and can be dangerous to take, for other reasons...
I knew that. Really, I did! I just forgot about it when I was typing...
Also, changed minimal Jedi mission to 30k, ty Falcon for the info.
Great guide! I'm sick of Swordsman already! Get ready for me to bug you to teach an old guild-mate to be a bounty-hunter

Bug me? But, the reason I posted my guide was so new BH's wouldn't bug me. /sigh
Basic question here - sorry I am a noob BH- respec’d and gave myself Novice BH and Investigation I. I NEVER completed a BH quest and have no experience, but I always wanted to do BH. I got my first quest, had to go off-planet to get the right spynet operative. NO problem. I launched my Arakyd droid and the Problem began - I saw the countdown and everything- the droid launched and a bit later landed and that was it! Where does the droid land? I was expecting a waypoint or something or maybe it would come back to my general vicinity- but nothing? I did not see it around me- I did not have it in my inventory any longer and there was no control device in my data pad or anything. I was not able to upload the bio-signature to the probot. When you launch an Arakyd droid what happens? Does it come back to you or land somewhere completely different and if so are you supposed to get a waypoint? I am confused
Incidentally, I hopped from planet to planet launching seekers and finally found my mark anyway. I FAILED to kill the mark- in fact the mark killed me- it was 10 combat levels higher than I was But this is what also confused me- After I cloned I somehow I got the credit and the reward for the quest!! ?! Is this bugged? At investigation I and up do you need to kill the mark or just find it?
If can anyone shed a little light on the Arakyd droid mechanics and also a reason why I got the mission reward without killing the mark I'd be greatly appreciative!
Thanks!
The question I have is in regards to how a Jedi knows a BH is after him. Are there signs that alert a Jedi that you are coming? When you get close to a Jedi, do you show up on the small on-screen map as a red dot?
Thanks,
Chucker
Use "/target imperial" and if there's no Imp mission terms nearby, you can find the droid that way. If it's out of range, drive your bike around of about an 80 meter radius, and look for a white dot on your overhead map - that should be the Probot you're looking for.
There are plenty of signs. If you send them a /tell, they'll know. If their guildmates see you enter from a shuttleport or starport nearby to where the Jedi is grinding, they'll inform the Jedi. Pretty much, you have to watch everything you do, and go the long way around at times to make sure you aren't spotted.

Thank you very much. I realized what happened- I was in a player city when Ioriginally launched the droidand there were just too many houses around for me to see the droid. I went to a more clearer area and the launched it and found it instantly. Thanks for the tip on the /target imperial - that will help out a lot! -
One other thing - what about the completion of the missions with out actually killing the mark? At this point I have only taken 3 BH missions after respecing my character and getting Noveice BH, and Investigation I. For each of the three missions I have been able to track down the mark, but I have never killed a mark (One time the mark even killed me). Yesterday I launched my droid- it landed and I was able to give it the signature. It told me the mark was on dantooine. I get to a starport, travel to dantooine and **poof** I got themission payout and the BH XP as though I completed the mssion! And I never killed a single mark! Can anyone explain this? Is this normal? Does a server reboot have something to do with this? I tool the mission the day before and then launched the probot after the server rebooted. Thanks again!

A quick note on Arakyd droids. Its generally a good idea to watch into the sky as the countdown goes becuase you can follow the smoke trail that comes down, which will lead you to your droid. If for some reason you missed this... don't start driving around blindly looking for your droid. You'll waste a lot of time doing this. I recommend using the target imperial command as mentioned in a previous post, or you can bring up your onscreen map (probably ctl-m) zoom out real far and go to the nearest WHITEobject marker.Ive found this to be a much quicker way of finding my misplacced droids![]()
Thanks for the tips. Now I know what I am doing - I am still confused on the mission completion however. Now that I have figured out how to track down marks, I can locate them, but the 3 times I tired this, I got the mission rewards (xp and credits) without ever killing the mark. - Has this ever happened to you?
