Okay so take on an Imp Jedi. So I head to Tant and get his name and head over to where he is. Okay so I see him grinding with one other person. So I buff up, eat my food and head out to him. During the fight I see a CM using BactaSpray, so I have no clue what he is doing till the end.

The fekker drags 8 level 82 level mobs on top of me with his ALT and drops them on me while he roots me with his jedi.

Their has to be a way around this, I see the mobs so I use bacta shot and stims avoiding spray just for this reason. If this, then I will do a report, but I need to get some sort of feed-back because useing an alt to ditch out of a BH cause you suck and are getting to like 1/8th of your health then use that.

This is the most upset I have been ever, I don't care if a Jedi waxes me in combat, and I have all the respect for them if they can, and if any of the ones that read this are some that have bested me they will know that I show them the up most respect. But this just irks the living crap out of me because of this fool. Feed Back be nice. Thanks.

Yes it is an exploit, its called training. You cannot use NPC creatures to attack other players. Unless your a creature handler of course. Its listed in the TOS.

Sweet...sounds like I can /report every BH that runs through aggroing creatures that then aggro on me

You cant really report this, all the bh has to do is deny it and its your word vs his. Only way to prove it is if the CSR is actually there.

or u take a screen shot of all the spatial, combat chats and the name of the jedi doing it.

most of the time a csr will NOT take a screen shot as proof as they are too easily photoshopped...

Well, I have two points to make:

First off, there is no way a jedi and her/his alt can be logged on at the same time, just as has been mentioned in previous posts. I'm a little unclear of the info stated in the OP. What gave you the idea it was his alt? Or even that it was the same person?

Secondly, I have my partner sometimes follow me afk when she has to go take care of r/l stuff now and again. Maybe it was someone like that with a heal macro running. If you attacked the jedi while he was grinding and he started running, you can bet whoever had him on follow will follow them, and possibly agro whatever they run past.

So, all in all, might not have even been the smarts of the jedi, but just a bad stroke of luck on your choice of ambush.

If it was an alt on a seperate account you're able to run both at the same time

Just to clarify this folks, regardless of if the CM was the jedis alt or just a friend, he still used an exploit. It is an exploit to train, regardless of if it is at you or someone elses advantage, you just cannot do it. The jedi obviously could not be banned for this, however, his alt/friend should be. But hey.... SOE csrs are on holiday atm arent they? 5 tickets filed in 1 month and 0 replies. WOO!

Please /tell me in game for any auction wins, I will collect, or you may deliver. Thanks

Stop with the alt talk please. It's a Red Herring.

If BH's and Jedi weren't allowed to tactically use their surroundings in this way then the Bounty TEF would prevent either from being attacked by anything.

I've been killed by it and I've been saved by it. Jedi do it to BH's, BH's do it to Jedi. It's counterable and I've never considered it a big deal. But maybe because it's been pretty rare as far as I've seen.

But an exploit no, not under any circumstances does this qualify for the term exploit. Badgesmaker has posted some very intelligent stuff, but he/she is wrong on this count.

Griefing, in this situation? This is consensual PvP, and Jedi/BH (unfortunately for some Jedi) is consensual PvP, so absolutely not.

Training on to crafters or other people not participating in your PvP battle, yes that is griefing.

It sucks but it's no different than us letting MOBs soften up Jedi before we get the kill.

Normally I am totally against training mobs on someone but in pvp (especially forced pvp) use whatever methods are needed, you were obviously expecting some kind of an attack since you were hunting him so to me this is valid. If you were just standing in the middle of nowhere afk or something and someone drags some rancors too you on purpose then hell yeah I say ban away.

From a continuity standpoint, I think Jedi should have the ability to "control" animals and use them to attack an aggressor, if even for a short time. Perhaps it could be based on a chance % of control based on the creature's combat level and the Jedi's skill level. Like a 1/2 template would only have say a 50% chance of affecting a same CL creature and a decreasing % of a stronger one (stronger the creature, the lower the chance to "control"). Then a level 80 Jedi would have a 100% chance of affecting a same CL creature (or lower) against an aggressor. But this would require constant force "concentration" which could be considered force usage, and not allow the Jedi to use any other force skills during the "control" period.

What do you guys think? Would certainly add some "spice" to the fight. Since Jedi can manipulate the minds of the "weak", it would give the persuasion skill some usage!

spoken like a true BH hater, once the bh attacks the jedi has the right to exploit

Training is technically a bannable offense, but to be honest, I think any objective person reviewing the case would say to himself "hey...you are trying to cause the Jedi harm already".

As unfair as that might seem, the prey is always going to be given a little more slack. As the predator, the bounty hunter who has little to lose and much to gain is going to be held under much more scrutiny. In other words, a BH training mobs on the Jedi is probably taking a much bigger risk. Whether fair or unfair, I think that is how most people would view it.

I believe it's a misconception of the "training" rules.. Yeah, when not engaged, or not willing to engage in pvp, it's an offense, however in combat your already consenting to receive damage...

I dunno, I'd be interested in hearing a dev responce on it...(like that's gonna happen..)

I'd like to go back to the Kryat train subject. If a jedi was hunting kryats and a bh attacks the jedi. It only make sense to stop fighting the kryat and go for the bh. Now this will unintentionally drag the dragon to the BH. The aoe attacks will kill the bh undoubtedly. Especially if rooted. Now I would like to get some inputs from this mindset. The kryat is attacking the jedi. Not the BH. Bh just chose to attack while jedi was tanking a high level mob with a nasty Aoe attack. Can this really be considered training? The bh always complins when the jedi runs. But to follow the rules you seem to be claiming in these posts. He would have to run and lose agro from the Dragon before going to fight the bh. Which might in turn accually cause agro to the bh also since he'll be left in area unless he burst runs.

Please give your inputs on this matter.

that would not be exploiting...

6. You may not intentionally circumvent the player-versus-player combat features and cause another player to die, such as by "training" them.

Training is defined as pulling/leading a hostile NPC or creature along behind you and attempting to get it to attack another player who does not desire that engagement.

The intentional training of NPCs or Creatures will result in immediate disciplinary action when witnessed by a CSR, or if sufficient evidence is available. We are aware that accidents often happen causing unintentional trains, and will scrutinize each report of this activity closely.

UNINTENTIONAL is your friend...

plus you didnt try to curcumvent the pvp, you engaged in it. and the way bounties work, the bh has to attack to be attacked.

Do you really mean his alt or a 2nd account? To me "alt" means the unlocked slot you get when you make Jedi. If it is the alt as I define it then what you say could not have happened. 2nd, how did you know it was an "alt"? Did he tell you that? If he did then he didn't know what he was talking about. Lastly, no it was not an exploit. It is a valid tactic but it certainly does not let those of us with single accounts play on a level playing field. So, may be legal but certainly is not sporting.
