disarm shot is the only thing that keeps us pistoleer/BH from getting our butts kicked ... we need it!

1)Use your foods. Dont be a machine who can only do one thing. Carry a variety of foods. In this situation use block, dodge, and damage mitigation foods. Use a ranged defense drink. If you have fill left pop a crispic so you know your hits will land.



Foods I need to try, but in other circumstances I find their benefit negligible.

2) Use your terrain and line of sight. A ranged player cant hit you if youre behind a tree.



Due to the fact I could hardly attack, the player chose to stand on top of me. With my template (MLS, MEnhance, Heal 4040), I need to be close to attack (other than saber throw). With him stood on top of me, I would need to be toggling Advanced Force Run on and off alot. On to get the distance to lose LOS and off to be able to damage him. At over 600 Force per activation, coupled with 200 for the stasis' I use and possibly roots/snares (also 200 Force per use), even with my double mastery template, the Force does not last long enough to give me an advantage to end the fight by beating him before he can get off another disarming shot and starting the cycle again. This gives him plenty of time to heal too.

I feel that the LOS and terrain tactic would be worthwhile if force run didn't reduce my damage and if the force costs on my Enhancer abilities were not so high. Without Force I can do nothing.

3) Blind them. Reduces their accuracy so they have a harder time landing.

This I did not try, currently don't have it in my toolbar because through my experience, the reduction in my opponents accuracy doesn't help because I have no defence for this to trade off against.

4) KD. Cant hit you from on their arse.

KD allowed me to do an armor break + power attack, but that was it. The 30 second timer before being allowed to KD again is what stopped me getting the advantage in this situation.

So it seems to me that Enhancer needs a few tweaks. Force Run needs damage reduction removed and the Force costs on the abilities need reducing.

Lets just ignore this thread now. At the end of the day, its not getting anywhere other than broadcasting a weakness in my template

I'll just do the smart thing and respec to Defender when they decide to close the token respec period.

LS 0404, MDEF, Enhancer 4004, Heal 4100.

Regular running and burst running can work as well. No need to use FR all the time.

This is not a flame...To the OP, I think this is just a case or Rock beating Scissors. MD can defend against this type of attack, your template can't. Please don't call nerf because your template can loose to an attack.

mmmm......pie........


Well, tried in game vs MBH/Mpistols.....used Crispic(Land shots), Thundercloud(+90 Ranged Defense), Pikata Pie (+50% dodge), Breath of Heaven(+200 Action Regen, etc) and Pixie(+20% AR).


Used stasis, ab, KD, Power attack, Saber Body Hit, Saber Hit, then ran around until I could use stasis again. Rinse and repeat.


He died fast.


I tried with NO food(except for pixie for the action regen...I cheated a little!)...a little more tricky with the timing, and the battle lasted a bit longer...


He died again.


It can be done, it just takes a little planning. I didnt think to do it, put I prob could have thrown some Synth Steak in there for Damage Mitigation too. Point is, every offense has a defense...its just figuring out how to do it!


I dont think you need to change your template. If you are happy with your double mastery, keep it! I personally find MEnhancer extremely fun to play.

Wrong POV... You DIDN't take Defender skills... Which means: no ranged defense.


Disarming shot is a ranged attack. Without decent defense that attack is likely to be more succesfull both in applying and doing damage.


Counter: just my IMAGINATION on things.... I've not gone up against this but...

* wear some BE clothing giving +15 melee/ranged def mods....


Why is it that you cannot see beyond the obvious?

Man I can't even imagine trying to PvP someone that knew what they were doing without food and spice. Their effect is not "negligible", it's the difference between winning and losing if you are fighting someone that knows what they're doing.

You said you only used 1k force during a 10 minute duel. Why are you being so stingy with your force cost? As a double mastery you have a huge force pool with quick regen rate. As an enhancer, you have Channel Force. It's a 1 vs 1 fight, you shouldn't be pulling punches. Unload on him, do whatever it takes to put you in a position to win. After all, what good does that 5k force do you if you've lost because you couldn't attack him?

No, don't think so. The problem seems to me that you were holding back. What did you need to reserve your force cost for? All that force you were saving up does you no good if youre dead. You have to do what it takes to get the advantage. If you need to break LOS and he's right on top of you, Force Run 3 around a building or something to get yourself together or to get a free hit as he comes around the corner. Yeah, it costs alot of force. Big deal. you regen fast and channel throughout the battle (just watch your max hps) and hit him hard when you have the opening.


Though the disarming shot tactic seems like it would be a challenge, I don't see it as something game breaking. It is simply something you need to come up with new counter-tactics for. Make use of all the wonderful foods and spices available to us now, don't be stingy with your force, and throw the kitchen sink at them when you get an opening.


A good fight doesn't mean something needs to be nerfed. It is something to be proud of when you win.

hmmm i dont even come close to being able to outdamage rifles ... i think you are confusing some uber rare weps with our abilities ....


i have a feeling some pistols after the cu were respecced to godly stats .... i have heard of pistols with max damage over 1000 and base dps of 500 to 600 ... if you see a guy using this ... of course his damage will get within range of rifleman .. but those pistols are rare .. and chances are hes been playing a year or two and ammassed the $$ nessecary to buy such a weapon .. while we who didnt have as much time to play .. are using junk ( like my pistols) ..


even though iowned this game since august 2004...due to real life issues i only have maby 4 months logged into it ...( not accumulated mind you ... i mean 4 months where i would log on at certain hours)
