This is one of the main reasons I became a Bounty Hunter. What is star wars with out these famous beings. And what good is their profession with out a use. Yes there should bea limit but there also must be a way.

There are no PVP Bounty Hunter mission abilities at this time.....

Btw, there are only 200+ signatures on that petition. We'd need 1000 or so to get any type of attention or response. I'm sure the dev's have heard it over and over but it still would nice to be able to show them that the SWG community would like to see this feature added in the future.

I, for one, haven't tried the Bounty Hunter proffesion, and didn't know that it was different from what was said on the Star Wars Galaxies Web Site. Is there really no player bounties? Why would you want to be abounty hunter then? for a bunch of destroy missions?

A bit confused. Swear it said there would be player bounties on the site the day before i bought the game.

lame if there isn't.

cool if i'm dumb and there is, like said.

I would actually like to see that expanded to players being able to call out hits on other players at Bounty Hunter Stations. I think it would actually take care of the in-game jerk quotient rather than increase it. For instance, i was getting healed in a Medical Center and i tipped the guy a large sum of money because my wounds were pretty serious, and he runs right out after agreeing to heal me up the whole way. Now I have NO recourse whatsoever. I can't kill him. The most i can do is challenge him to some sissy duel. But what if I could call out a hit? Now THAT would be something. And here's where it gets good. Bounty hunters aren't going to waste their time going after other players if you only offer them 1000 credits for the hit. They'll do it if you offer 5000 credits or more. Heck, the reason you become a BH is because you're greedy. So the only people who will put out hits are the ones angry enough about being sleighted to put down a tidy sum of cash for revenge. This NEEDS to happen.

This was one of the big things, that I thought would have made this game great.

Though there is no random PvPin this game, Ultima Online had a interesting bounty system for dealing with people. Getting killed gave you a chance to add gold to a bounty on that player. As the pot grew so did the number of people on the lookout for the criminal types.

Player/Npc bounties could easily work and avoid the abuse by simply limiting the amount of credits that some one could put down at any given time. Some senarios for you.

NPC vs Player Bounties

Faction points max out against a player, a bounty of say 1-10 credits is added, and 1000fp (all you jawa killers will be in trouble on this one, because who can only shoot just one?)drops off.

High pay out mission fails can also result in a few credits being added. Say 1 credit for every 1000 credit of mission reward.

Social Policing of Griefers:

A player is making an utter nussiance of himself and each player in the area who is annoyed with them can add a 1 credit addition to the bounty on that person. To keep it from being added as a continuous grudge against someone. Make it a target/range restriction so you actually have to see someone to place the bounty and restrict it to only once every 24 hours.

Military Conflict:

One player is killed by anotherduring Rebel/Imperial Combat allow a one time bounty say multiples of 5 credits with the max being according to military rank.No rank 1-5 credits, Lance Corp 6-10 credits, and so forth.

Gang/Trade Wars:

PA leaders can place at any time bounties against members of other PA that are in a declared PA war with one another. Keep it small say 10-100 credits with 24 hour restriction. Also be able to place a large one time bounty against leaders in the opposite PA, make it a 1000 credit minimum with a 1 week time restriction.

A running tally can be kept on players that have bounties. To keep a 1 credit bounty from being a license to kill. Make onlythe top ten bounties available to bounty hunters. It could be either implemented as a most wanted list, or one that must be taken as a mission.

The total credits on your head will become a personal stat, that can only be removed by a successfull campture by a bounty hunter. Have a success full capture woundthe target all the way down to 1pt on HAM and force a non-insured cloning.

I see this working in a very positive light. By keeping the number of credits low that can be placed at any given time noone can truly grudge someone contintuously with a bounty. The only grief/exploite tactic I can see is the mark contiously annoying people just to collect a bounty and then letting a bounty hunter friend attack them to collect. The low credit post rate and the single character restriction per server should keep this in check. The self-policingnature of this will cause players to watch themselves. Since if they annoy enough people they can't exactly change their name, now can they? Every game/forum has that infamous person (aka troll). They would end upcontinously collecting bounties just by appearing in public. This will result in 2 senerios, one the person must leave town (banishment) until their foolishness is forgotten, or two they will have to delete their character and start over. Self policing at it's best, since most of the truly annoying types are attention hogs so leaving town is not fun, but also would be horrified at the prospect of lossing their beloved character.

For the non-griefer type bounty targets, there can be something truly exciting about staying on step ahead of the bounty hunters. I look forward to something similar to the above being put in the game. To be part of the thrill of the chase, either as the hunter or the hunted, would be quite a bit of fun for all.

Bump -

THis is so stupid, I cannot belive this is an issue, Become a Bounty Hunter and im all giddy with joy over the thought of contracting to kill some Cantina jerk and alas there is no PVP Bounties? **edit**!!! This is stupid beyond words. And I cant belive they are trying to fall back on "well its not there for possible griefing" What a load of bantha **edit**!!! Every game has greifers one way or the other, and if ANYTHING we would be the tools to stopping alot of griefing assholes. Someone is harassing you ya say Luke Solowalker? No problem, Hire a Bounty Hunter to kill him and you will get the last laugh, aslong as you have the last credit

What the hell point is there to playing a bounty hunter if all you do is spam a new stinking Mission terminal to hunt down some **edit** twiddle NPC, Borings, Stupid, And Plain Decietful on Sony's part for making us all become BH's and then taking away the whole reason we enlisted in the proffesion. The only reason i bought the game was to be a bounty hunter and take out missions to collect on other players heads. But can i? Noooooooooo

This is dumb and im sickened, If this is not resolved or wheels put in motion to resolve it Im done with this game, ill go back to DAoC where atleast in that game when they say PvP they mean it! =/

As far as I'm concerned, if I don't hear a dev say for certain that PvP bounties will be implemented in some form in the future (added later, expansion, whatever), then I'm going to backtrack out of BH and dump all my not-so-hard earned scout XP and just switch to commando.

There is absolutley no point in being a Bounty Hunter if there are no player bounties.
