LucasArts has laid off all internal development teams not too long ago. They only have PR, marketing and licencing staff plus a few Producers (as Haden Blackman is/was for SWG) who supervise development and give thumbs up/down on proposals brought to them by the development leads. Yes but most of those titles have not been*developed* by LucasArts. Developer of most (or all?)X-wing games was Totally Games. Developer of the first person action titles... DF and DF2 was indeed Lucas (they had pretty crappy level design IMHO) while Jedi Academy was done by Raven. SW Battlefront was coded by the folks at Pandemic (as will SW BF II).






Ok, SWG2..... how about LucasArts farm it out to Blizzard

only ever play SWG 2 if the idiots that create and run this game currently are no where near it. not sure i'd actually buy or play any other game made by people involved in SWG. they're completely incompitent

No matter how I hate Jedi in this game, I would not want to see them completely erased from thisgame or SWG2. If they are erased, then there is hardly a point being a BH. What I'd like to see is a more effective system to control their population. One, every player would have his own UNIQUE (and hidden) path to become Jedi. And two, permadeath no doubt should be in game. Not a rigorous "one" or "three" lives, but say overlapping rules similar to "dont get killed more than 3x in 2 weeks, dont get killed more than 6x in 6 weeks and dont get killed more than 10 times total". Three, there should be a server cap on total active jedi. Plus sabre TEF etc.


And yes, if SWG2 would have all SWG1 issues resolved, I would play it gladly.

I would come back for SWG 2, but I would have to agree with the others that I would prefer it if SOE had nothing to do with it.

Anyway, I would be joyus if they brought back the old system. WITH ALL ITS BUGS AND STUFF!!! Yes.

The CU is getting old fast. i'm already on the very brink of going to wow. If they brought back the old swg and i had left i'd come back for sure

I would definately come back to a game like SWG II.


I feel the DEVS realize that they have made many mistakes which can't be undone now. (Jedi growth, Housing polutions etc)


what I would like in "SWG 2";


* less marketing oriented Publishes. (no more giving advantages to classes just because they have to grind longer so it brings in more money in the end -gamebreaking-)


* balanced, fair combat system


* bugs should be fixed asap


* no more lies to customers


* CSR system with people who separate the scammers from the real players who need help and actually helpt those people.


*better service. (downtimes, Publishes etc)


* what I would like best: EVE Online type-server system where every server is connected to each other so you can meet everyone and you have an actual 1 big Galaxy instead of 20 clone servers.

I have loved Star Wars since I was a kid, but SOE has really taken the thunder out of it for me. If there happens to be a SWG2, I will not be going to it unless SOE' logo is nowhere to be found.

I may try it, assuming there are vehicles in game unlike how this one started. The Devs made a lot of balance mistakes, surely they've learned from this experience and will make an SWG2.

As for the Jedi in game, I dont think I prescribe to the permadeath theroy, HOWEVER, make it so the little geek loses Force Sensitive skills for 2 weeks if he, say dies 3 times inside of a 30day period.

I'd come back if they would just fix the current game and balance it.


Not sure why they would need to come out with a Second game, if they cannot fix this one chances are SWG2 would be just as messed up. The bottom line issue is that SoE keeps treating this game like it is EQ or WoW. This is not a Fantisy game, it is Sci Fi and one that is well defined.


Adding boring dungens (Nightsister caves, Geo Labs, DWB) is not Star Wars, the GCW is Star Wars and until they figure that out and stop creating and releasing poor product, nothing will change.
