I honestly think my TKM/Doc/Swordsman is more powerful than my Jedi. Their skills are similiar but the TKM puts out better damage, and heals more efficiently.
The attraction to jedi is not merely justdamage and healing. They get the toys that no other profession has. Ability to Cloak, Armor Buff themselves, Unique Character graphics, Force run, etc etc.
I'm in agreement with the original poster.
If super classes do not come, this game is eventually doomed.
Everyone will want to be a jedi. Even I have one. And jedi don't buy weapons or armor - knocking out too important professions. Also, and this should be obvious, how do you offer expansion toys (new guns/ armor) to a class that does not need them? Expansions might have new areas - but without things to loot ... the game loses its temptation.
People want to be a jedi because they are so powerful (and at least as a MDEF MLS, they are) and because they are cool.
People will always want jedi because they are cool but we should at least have some form ofalternative with respect to power.
With respect to the argument that we don't need any more professions,I think that is probably true. But what could be offered is superranged/ melee weapons training; i.e., an equivalent pathtojedi in grind etc but where the rewards are more powerful shots/ blows, and allowing an appropriate level increase. The most cunning version of this would be where these super trainings were initial class specific - though this would obviously require serious coding.

I am to the point now where I think Jedi should have either Light or Dark side faction and thats it. They should no longer participate in what little GCW that is going on. No one can PVP other than Jedi. Its really a serious problem and not just a BH trying to nerf a Jedi.
SOE made the mistake back in December of 2003 when they gave out holos to people. They said they would never tell how to become a Jedi and yet they did. They should have just kept their mouths shut about it. Now we have an assembly line of Jedi coming into the game every day. Its a stepped out map on how to become one. If you have the time and the ability to click a macro button you can become a a Full temp jedi.

I used to be a hardcore BH. I hated the drowes of paddys poring out of the villeafter each phase.. Lets face it this game is set in a timeline of SWGwhere Jedi are suppose to be all but extinct, still ithinkmost players 6months and older have at least one Jedi account. The game as it is now is broken beond repair when it comes to fixing the Jedi problem.
Here is what i propose. Add more "superclasses" to the game. 2 factional classes and 2 neutral ones. With grinds similar to the Jedi one we currently have. An elite spec op Prof for Reb/Imp factions likeImperial Guard for example (You know the cats in the pimp red armour) And why not make BH one of the Elite neutral ones?
This idea would make playing more fun for those of us who allready have 2 or more Jedi char and like to continue grinding our alts/other accounts past the normal 2 day grind combat professions. (i did investigation grind twice. first time as anub it took me maybe 3-4 days. second time i did it in 1.5 days.)
It would certenly spread out the amount of hate we recieve from a lot of the non-Jedi community and it would be a great thing for the players who would like to improve their character trough grinding rather then equipment but does not necesserely want to be a Jedi char with all the Grief and getting hunted it intails.
I myself felt more or less forced into grinding out a Jedi because i
Iv proposed the idea to a few of my friends and the majority of them said that they would much rather have choosen one of these other classes then the Jedi they are currently playing.
I appreciate your input on this subject.
In the future, if things stay the way they are now.
