Thread: Pub 20 will kill my playstyle, worth it?

first thing, bounty hunting and deer hunting arn't the same. Yes, BH's do survey their mark first. Drive by, act like your lagging, at least get the name. Your not in danger, they can't attack. At worst they are gonna go run off, but your not attacking yet anyway.
And also tab, you all do realize it goes by field of view? It doesn't tab around every creature around you, just whats in the direction your looking at, you can easily modify your view to only contain a small group...Less there's some option I'm unaware of
As I said, this kills the run-n-gun bounty hunters, now it actually takes some thought!
And TC has always ended up to be the live game, don't kid yourself..
But all that aside, even I agree you should be getting the name at some poine, for "logics" sake. Say with the seeker droids... /shrug

some of us bh's with a reputation cannot afford a fly-by, just appearing at the mo on dant can cause a mass log off.

ya doesn't make any sense to take off names
No more ganking no more hunting same target over and over again, now you just work for the money. Doesnt make sense?
No it don't. The element of surprise is gone. The very same advantage that Jedi claim to justify their 1.5x strength just went out the window.
Jedi will know before the BH who his opponent is in most scenarios. Someone suggested a flyby to identify the mark and attack at a better time. Guess what, we now have only three days to complete our mission.
Give us a name when we are at 1024m at least that will do.
You still have the element of suprise?
Still... Best thing is no more run to house jedi, I just hope they do something with sitting in a house afk jedi too.
This was coming.. After 50% of the community became BH its bound to be nerfed. I dont think it was ment for Padawans being forced to pvp every 15min.
Hopefully after the namesnerf will come some BH love ![]()
I'd happlily take the name nerf if they would remove the /duel exploit and any other way of ID-ing the BH from the radar/map overlay.
Jedi shouldn't have any idea who the BH is until they initiate the attack even if you're stood right next to them as in RL.

I would just like the devs (and Jedi and BH's who desire Pub 20 changes) to be aware of the following:My template is MBH, Master Carbineer, and some pistols. I do not go for FOTM (I had this template pre-cu). I am not interested in the best/easiest way to hunt. I just enjoy carbines. However, I cannnot go toe-to-toe with any Jeid over 150k worth his salt. I can't tell you how many times I have dueled Jedi after I had a successful mission on them and they worked me simply because they were prepared. I need to prepare for them, and not knowing my mark's name makes that neigh impossible. Not knowing their level prior also makes that very difficult. How one fights a 40k mark (with other prof skills), a 125k mark, or a 225k mark are all very different.Furthermore, I only hunt /db a mark once. Once I have a successful mission, I do not hunt them again. If I got them at 25k (pre-cu) or even 250k, I will kill them once. I mark that in my friends list and do not take their mission again. If I don't know the name of my mark until I arrive, I will no longer hold back.I am a casual player. I don't have the time to spend days hunting targets. I get an hour or two on average a couple of times a week. Imagine the frustration of being able to take only 2 -3 missions and not being able to differentiate between fully templated Jedi and the more challenging but still possible sub200k guys. Or worse, when you do find a fully templated guy begging for PvP at the MO, not being able to find his specifc mission to give him a shot.Of course, my situation should only be considered among the 1000's of players. But please, devs and others, do at least consider it. If need be I will go make another BH on another server that is the FOTM combat medic, and push the buttons, but man I will miss the good fights and friends I have now.
I completely agree, i think that a name should be given when your like say within a 500 mtr range. The tracker will be fixed on the location and has done its job (pinnpoint your mark)
I used to be a BH and im making my alt 1 but this will ruin the gameplay of alot of players.

Huh? What are you suggesting? That a PC (jedi in this case) should not be able to sit in their house for long periods of time even if they don't have combat TEF (which Jedi can't do anyways after pub20 which is fine..I agree with that)? Sorry Erkman..that makes no sense.
I agree. As a bounty hunter and member of a fairly large guild, I log in all day on the weekends just to keep tabs on my guild chat. I sit in my house while I do this. Now, since nobody is hunting me, this is okay? But since someone may be hunting a jedi doing the same thing, this is a grief? I don't think so.
Here's a little role-reversal for you. There are several jedi that I mutually hunt/spar with all the time. It's called role-play. Some of them actually get a little irritated when *I* log in and just sit in my house. Why? Cuz they always wonder where I am when I show up in their friends list. All this stuff works both ways guys.
And that brings up another mechanic that gets lost in publish 20, as briefly touched upon in this thread and many others. If you take the names off the terms or do not give names out at some point, you are taking a game mechanic from people who actually have consistent role-play hunts set up in the game. I use the terms to by-pass the jerks and hunt my friends or mutual role-playing Jedi.
