I don't live without it. As MBH/MSL, I primarily tank creatures and npcs. With advanced duelists stance, I can just stand there. Creatures don't care if you run around, and players do a lot less damage too. Since rifles are really popular, the people using them don't want to run around or their accuracy gets too bad. However, to all the CMs that don't use it, I don't really use my mind, except for SL actions which have such a long cool-down that my mind is always at full. I can understand the mind cost for CMs, they heal much faster than duelist stance blocks damage.

Wow...can't believe some people don't use it at all, but to each his own. The fact it provides a defense plus counter attack, I don't know why you wouldn't. If it is too much of a mind cost, then you must not be using any mind regen food or whatever. I prefer to do my work manually instead of with macros. My duelist stance is actually a great timer for when I can re-use a KD. I KD my target, apply more damage, then as my target gets up, I apply duelist stance. In 30 seconds, I repeat.

Again....not worth it

only time i use it is mass pvp where those little bits add up, but for fighting good jedi, its worthless

aye, but your missing its other side. with ACC VS Def.

tested with a RM friend (cl80) he hit 10 out of 10 shots, with out DS running. he hit me all 10 times
With DS running, he missed 5 out of 10 times! so althought the shots he hit me went down say 20-30pts of damge, he did not hit me 5 of the times, so stopping 5x400 damage (was testing with ranged shot)

Not to mention that you also counter attack some of the missed damage back at the mark.

Aginst a single mobe of equal level the stance is not as important. But anings a mobe a few levels higher than you or multiple targets of equal the stance can make all the difference between victory and a trip to the cloner.

I'll break it down for you all.

Vs ranged attacks it can be worth it.

Vs any Jedi never use it unless they have no saber and are master powers.

Increased def does the following, increase the chance of a miss, and decrease the damage output closer to the minimum damage of the weapon being used against you. The higher your def over their acc is, the lower the amount of damage they will do. Hereis where the problemis.Lets compare a lightsaber to arifle. lets saythe saber is damage 565-650, and the rifle is510-1183. As you can see, the minmax damage spread between the saber and rifle is significant. Whats all this mean? Its simple, high def will affect the damage output of a rifle by quite a bit, where as highdef vs a lightsabermeans very little.

Keep in mind that damage is NOT reflected back at the target if they are using a melee weapon against you, so no 25 points of damage reflected when fighting a jedi.

Also, the increased chance to miss you is almostnot noticable at all. I have a base def of 220, with melee def food +100 and duelist stance+250 my melee def of +570 seems to do littleto increase their miss rate, even when combined with slapping blind on them. Feel free to run tests vs afull template Jedilike I did if you like. I expect you'll come to the same conclusion...

I don't use it in pvp, but in low-level pve against ranged npcs it's amazing. I return like 70% of the shots of lvl 40 npcs.
