Thread: To duel or not to duel...Duelist Stance

Hi,

I need a few opinions. How much do you use duelist stance, compared to just running around a lot to make yourself harder to hit? My BH level is currently at 1,0,0,0. Most of my marks are level 47 or 48. What seems to work best for this level of NPC?

thanks

I am also MBH / MCM and I use it all the time. I just use foods and drinks that regen my mind and action so mind costs are not a concern everand +250 in defense is never a bad thing.

You would be a fool not to use this. +250 defence? with my def and skill tapes + food I'm over 600 ranged def, these boss marks rarely get me below 50% (mbh/mcarb/pistol 0003/ med 0020)

A neat trick I have my duelist stance linked to my middle button on my mouse along with a macro to eat exo-prot wafers at the same time

I use it all the time. I also make sure I buff with foods first though. I think it makes a big difference.

testing in pvp:

headhit without duelist stance: 871

headhit WITH duelist stance: 858

Again....not worth it

only time i use it is mass pvp where those little bits add up, but for fighting good jedi, its worthless

The more I've used it recently the more I find it really doesn't do anything worth the time and effort to keep it on.

In PvP it's useless as stated above, and in PvE all it seems to do with me is give a 1 in 7-10 chance that my mark will "miss" me. Which negates the combat round I use to activate it and not anything more.

It only helped you by 20 points... Then how come COB is so effective even it is 500? Maybe you were bugged or you tested it wrong (foods ran out ex)

I use it all the time. A *miss* here and there adds up. I have a macro setup that keeps it running. I get a message on my screen when it is about to renew so I know when to stand still. That way I don't have to keep pushing the button.

I use it heavily in PVE coupled with Eyeshot but have never tried it out in PVP. I have noticed that it seems to increase the chances of the NPC Marks to miss me by a rather substantial amount.

Moving does not make you harder to hit in PvE (and only makes you harder to target manually in PvP). You're not helping yourself by "running around a lot". You should only be moving in order to keep line of sight and the proper range between you and your target, and proper use of whatever specials your supporting profession offers should help to dictate that range.
