It was the same jedi that paid you? He was your mark?
Nope. His buddy was the mark.

Hate to pop your bubble, but I'm fairly sure that's against the TOS. Of course, the Jedi is either honourable or stupid if they didn't use /duel on you to find out if you're hunting them. But at any rate, he paid you on the assumption you had his mission and you were going to drop it, basically paying for a service you did not deliver. Same idea behind if you paid a doc to buff you and didn't get any buffs.
I never, repeat NEVER confirmed that I had the Jedi's mission. I am not responsible for his assumptions. On a side note, if I had really had his mission, and he offered to pay me off, I would have taken the money and dropped the mission. Jedi X paid for his own safety, not anyone elses. His payment did not include Jedi Y. If he had said "I don't care who you're after, heres some money to drop the mission you have" his buddy would have been safe too.
In short, Iconsider myself personallyhonour bound tostick to the LETTER of any agreement I make. I may stick to the spirit of an agreement also, but thats my decision, nobody else's. Other people's assumptions, particularly Jedi's assumptions, are not my problem.
In fact, they aremy opportunity.

No, it's not against the TOS. It's nothing special, but it's totally legal.
