Thread: What is YOUR Jedi hunter template? (what works, what dosn't work)

Ok here are the temps that I was thinking of thus far:

1)
BH: 4-0-1-0 (the one is for the KD underhand shot)
MCM
Smuggler: 4-0-3-0 (for last ditch and the low blow KD)

2)
BH 4-0-0-0
Rifle - master
Master combat medic
(EDIT) if I did this, wouldnt I lose the KDs and the roots that I would need?

and the final three points.... something in the medic proff?

isoloAncientKrayts, thanks for the info, mind if I ask you about your opinion on CM? would it be worth it to do that insted of Doc, and just have a doc buff me before I go on a hunt?

I was a Master Combat Medic before I was a bounty hunter...I remember the healing being extraordinary...but I was a master with lots of healing efficieny points. I chose not to use CM4000 because I didn't like the fact that I had to stop when I used Bacta Toss, it just felt weird in battle....I also believe that the timers on Bacta shot/jab are way faster than on CM4000. With publish 19, I am unsure of the timer changes...but jab/shot should still be faster.


Doc buffs are great. Especially if you get the one that allows you to pull the trigger like a crack head defending his stash. So in sum, I would shoose novice doc over 4000CM mainly for the fast healing timers...and even if you get more healing from Bacta toss/spray, I still think itwould bebetter to have 2 heals with faster timers(shot/jab) that give you more than enough healing already.

MBH MRifles and Force Heal 4 0 0 0. Force Infusion heals what they put out damage wise, and I pound on em, so for their once in a while attacks and constant heals they run out of force making it an easy kill. O and the great 1500 heal for those sticky situations when they catch up to me.


Works great going after 200k+ bountys.

I honestly can't thank you guys enugh for the info, I apreceate the feedback. However, I keep hearing that there are some smuggler specials that work great for jedu hunting. This is begining to look like that the best Jedi hunter temp would be something like master BH, master rifles, and perhaps doc/CM or some smuggler, depending on the style of play people prefer.

MBH/4/0/0/0 rifle, MCM = pwnage... only thing you might ever have problems with is full spec jedi w/ force supression.

for all of you using the MBH, MRifle, pistol 0/4/0/4 template, how are you standing up to the damage?... root and KD may keep him off you for a good 30 seconds, but after that, he's going to toggle forcerun and close the distance, apply a root of his own and hit you for 500ish damage a hit. (i've gotten hit for 700 before, and i wear 8500 energy armor 500 is just average) Ruby bliel may keep you up for a little while, but any 0/0/4/0 defender is going to have no problem whatsoever dealing with your damage for a minute or two while he waits for your drink bar to fill, then lays into you.


Right now i don't see any template without CM working against nearly full template, compentent jedi. CM healing is just sick right now, the only thing non-jedi have to rival healer 4/0/0/0, and burst damage just isn't enough against defenders, you will not kill them unless you run them completely out of force. Problem is, if they have channel, even that's not an option...

lots of the bh templates I've encountered:


BH/rifleman (most common)


BH/CM (evil as hell to kill. Stupid cm heals)


BH/Doc (same as CM)


BH/Smug (Mostly for last ditch. New bh 'I win button' template. LD will probably be nerfed because of it)

Is anyone else completely sick of seeing "I win button" thrown around so much? I've come to the conclusion that almost every person that uses that phrase does not actually have the skill or tactic they are referring to. For instance with Last Ditch, if they used it they would see how often it misses and then all of a sudden it's an "I win button" for the jedi who can 1 hit saber throw you for the kill. Sorry it's 4:15 am and i'm still playing swg....../cry


ON topic, MBH/MR/Cm4xxx is the best template i've seen/used so far. There are other ones that can be effective but it's hard to compete with this one. The only thing it's missing is a mez. Which is why I am going with Master smuggler/MBH atm. I don't expect to go after the 200k+ missions unless I tag team with a guildie but I can go after the lower guys on the side when I feel like doing something different.

Sry but seeing 2 bhs from the same guild using the same technique against the same jedi is cause for concern.



Im not saying that last ditch is not a good technique. Im saying its not supposed to be first hit incap vs a person that is near full or at full health.

Pre-publish 19 I loved being a MBH/MCommando/Carbineer0400.As a result of an extremely high damage output,I was remarkably successful hunting jedi. I even had some success against those full-template guys.


However, my template is now one of the worst for hunting higher-level jedi. It has no healing. It has no root or mez. Heck, the maximum range on my best weapon is 25m. I'm currently trying to decide whether I would rather be able to hunt higher-level jedi or keep Master Commando.


Anyway, there are certain things that a good Bounty Hunter must have in his template these days, and my current template contains none of them.

I was a Master Riflemen, Master BH, Pistols 0404, then changed to Master Carbineer Master BH, CM 4000 and i must say my new template is way better then the old, The healing is so nice, mix together some nice stim ds and your CM heals and your good to go. You still have your knockdown, and a few snares to kite your way around for a bit. Your best bet is to keep attacking and kiting and eventually the jedi will run out of force or choose not to heal right away, then a knockdwon and a few critical shots and legshots(which is very nice damage btw) will get em. I do very well now against jedi, the only thing i miss is recon armor, but nice 6.5k k/e/sp set of battlearmor and a psg makes it ok.
