Its not an exploit. The unstick feature is working as intended, it is intended to warp you back to either the begining of the Webweaver Trails, or back to the begining of the Ryatt Trails. You people use the word exploit way too much.
I am a big fan of teaching the correct way for 'you people' (bh, jedi, and all players alike) to use the word exploit.
First - it's not a noun, it's a verb. ie: a bug is just a bug, until it is used to give one player an unfair and unintended advantage over another player. At that point the bug is being exploited.
Now that you are not as ignorant as you were before you read this, can you please post a link where someone from SOE has stated that the /unstick cmd is an actual intended game mechanic that should be used to warp a player back to the beginning of the Trail. As far as I can figure(just logically thinking here - what a concept?), if this bug were intended, than why wouldn't they just give us a trail Pearl like the one for the Myydril Caverns? Or why not have a trail guide every 500m throughout the Trail? /unstick is only mentioned in the Holo game help as a means to help players who find themselves stuck in a game glitch where they cannot move. It doesn't say anywhere that it is to be used in place of travelling.
Notice how I never accused anyone of exploiting in my post, and only put out informative data, and clearly marked my opinions as being just that. Please take this lesson back to the Jedi forums and maybe you can help us work towards a brighter forum future!

.......besides, what difference does it make if he did use it, if he was cloaked you couldn't get him anyway.

Ignorance is NO excuse for the Law (or rules in this instance). A player using the unstick command to escape a BH and not run up the trail or down it in this case is using an ingame mechanic to gain an unfair advantage. READ RULE 12 Community Guidelines. The player was not stuck, unless the poster is confusing the guy falling through the floor down there with cloaking, thereby not needing to use the /unstick command. This is another example of why Jedi catch so much flak, because of stupid players cheating.

i dont think you people should ask them to nerf unstick...its a very usefull tool when you really need it.
BUT they should jus make it so that you cant unstick while cloaked...simple as that.
read that and then read this

I agree this wasn't how /unstick was meant to be used, but how do you propose to "fix" it? He was not in combat at the time, and not moving. So what other limitations could you possibly put on it that wouldn't make it completely useless for those that actually need it for legit reasons?
There is one thing I think they could do... they could borrow a page from Ultima Onlines similar help feature. When you use it... it should freez you for 2 minuts. Makeing you open to attack. Durring which time fein death (I am a suggler just FYI), and Cloak should not work. If you are lagitimatly stuck then you will be fine as no one should be able to get to you and attack you. If your not really stuck... then your screwed.
Tho reading the original post it does sound like the original post is questionable, but I did have this very same thing happen to a freind of mine the other day. It IS exploiting the /unstick command to escape. The /unstick def can't be removed, but it needs to be reviewed, and re-built to prevent this type of exploiting.
Jedi wonder why people hate them... but as soon as they learn of an exploit it seems like all of them are useing it. I have only run into a few non-exploiting Jedi in my BH days... and its a small few at that.

I was hunting my mark today on kashyyyk and guess where I found him....the Webweaver Path at the Feral wookiee site....he took off running followed by alot of wookiees, when he was incapped by them, I did not reach him before he got back up and cloaked. I still had him targeted when he warped over 1000m, I figured out he used the /unstick command to send him to the beginning. Can I get some feedback?Message Edited by Taconius on 07-16-2005 12:22 PM
If this is an exploit, I can guarantee more BH'ers use it than Jedi do, and here is why...
BH has mission on Jedi, Jedi is on Kash. Bh goes to Kash, knowing that the Jedi is MOST LIKELY in the Ryatt trial, so he begins his search... instance one, runs down webweaver trail (bringing a trail load of aggros behind him), hits the LOS bug spot to get aggros off of him, and stays there while he safely investigates the group to see if his mark is in it. Nope, ok, try next instance. Does /unstick to go back to the beginning. Hit next instance, and repeat procedure until all instances searched or mark found. I have witnessed this enough times to know the method.
