Thread: The Paradox

Honestly? It is not that jedi are underpowered...it is that your 'cookie-cutter' template is over-powered in healing, not in damage, but in HEALING.
"Honestly? It's not that jedi are underpowered, it's that non-jedi are overpowered for X reason."
Much like I said...

Kinda splitting hairs on I'm not underpowered, you're overpowered!! It's all relative.

(as an aside, CM is the most disrespected profession cuz it takes ZERO skill to play)
Which is much like....

I don't believe that my skills are so superior that I just can't find someone better than I am. I fought a group of Jedi. Some will be better than me, some will be less skilled.
So now that we are both on the same page, we come back to the problem....
(As an aside, you should really pay attention to the original post and think out what you want to say before posting).

1) If you buff Jedi to the point that other classes can't compete in any viable way 1 on 1, then both the GCW and BH missions become redundant for non-jedi.
2) If you don't buff Jedi, you leave them having put so much time and effort into being a full template jedi just to run around with a glow stick and be a normal profession essentially.
Toss them to the side is the likely course that looks to be coming. These NPC missions that the devs stuck in for loot are probably the bait for that. My guess FRS comes in and BH missions go bye, j/k. ![]()
Let BH group again and give Jedi back the 20x power. Fair trade right? Heck let everyone group again. If a BH goes after a Jedi w/ mates, he'd better bring his. If a Jedi happens to have 7 other Jedi mates with him, the BH had better bring along some serious firepower.

That's an idea.
What would you do with BH missions then?
Koweim
Did you play the games when there was Group TEF's? If so you would know that very few people liked this idea that is why they removed it from the game.

I've been hunting them for quite some time, and there aren't enough that beat me (post-cu and after healing became what it has become) to say that it is just a lack of skill on the part of the Jedi. If it were just that I happen to pull a noob jedi who doesn't understand how to use his template, that shouldn't happen nearly every time.Anyway, here's the problem that I see in fixing this.1) If you buff Jedi to the point that other classes can't compete in any viable way 1 on 1, then both the GCW and BH missions become redundant for non-jedi.2) If you don't buff Jedi, you leave them having put so much time and effort into being a full template jedi just to run around with a glow stick and be a normal profession essentially.Any thoughts?Koweim(I'll post this in both the Jedi and BH forums to see any thoughts. Oh and "I'M L337, I PWN BH!!" isn't really a coherent response to this topic.)
I think the FRS could answer this and I hope it does truthfully. We are all still Padawans regardless of full template or not so let's place the balance issue there for argument's sake. The answer that would satisfy me and keep the so-called balance is a separation between play styles. The FRS Jedi who is fighting to ascend should recieve the rewards of robes, attachments and possible powers that are limited to his rank (similar to the elite rewards you get on rival MMOs when you are top of the PvP food chain). In this he could be a better PvPer, and a force to reckon with as he gets better within the ranks versus other Jedi. The downside would be exclusion from the normal everyday PvP and BH wars, it would make him strong versus Jedi but should he choose to duel another class it would be a different set of rules. The same would apply to him being grouped versus solo, he should be strong solo and gimped grouped to sway people away from gank squads, fight clubs and the like. There needs to be light/dark penalties rather than faction disputes, to fight in the GcW should be very risky for us, players shouldn't have an all powerful Jedi as a trump card. To tell the truth they should make it a living hell for a Jedi who chooses to fight factional wars, he should probably be hunted down not only by players but random NPC gank squads because face it, the GcW has it's Jedi in Luke Skywalker, we probably should be off warring amongst ourselves.
I'm not trying to tell anyone how to play their character, I am strongly against that type of policing. But as a person who likes both worlds Pvping and Role-playing, I would like to see our class be treated to something else to do besides dueling in public areas and fighting off Bounty Hunters. I'm putting my cards on the FRS to give us something more to do and possibly give that edge we want to see in fights versus Elite skilled professions. I'm not going to ask to be automatically better than everyone else but there should be a slight edge besides the fact that we don't rely on crafters of any type. In other words average Jedi should be balanced, ranked PvPing Jedi should be avoided at all costs by normal PvP professions.
This way BH will still have their prey in the younger Jedi and "rule-breakers", the GcW would only have the most dedicated Jedi to the cause and the hardcore PvPers can be at a level against each other that isn't comparable to the casual or non-PvPer.
Just my answer to it all.
