Thread: How long does the fight have to last before you give up?

I see your approach stecoli, but I would not fight back, I would conserve my mind only for healing (use accaragim or such to counter debuff) as well as simply throw on Imp Valor and kneel if I really needed to regen mind. Defender skills use little (if any...never really looked) mind, and with stims, I won't need to use the jedi heals as often.

By the way I appreciate the civilized discussions and comments as opposed to the usual /flames, insults, and immature noob behavior that seems to plague both our professions. /salute

You may be right stecoli, after about 45 minutes of being beat on, say I do end up low on force, if I pop a holo, would you really continue to fight for another hour, or would you rather not spend 2 hours on a mark and instead go after a potentially quicker kill. If you are that determined to beat a mark no matter the time it takes then I hope our paths never cross. Can I get a timeout for a bathroom break..lol

By not fighting back, you aren't expending extra force, allowing you to sit there all day and laugh at a bounty hunter. We can do the same thing. By not fighting and concentrating on healing, I can do the same to Jedi. It annoys them to no end when they can't kill me, and all I have is CM 4xxx. When it's apparent thatI cannot take them out, I'll move into this role to get away from the fight, or just offer a draw to them. No sense wasting equipment for a fight I can't win in a reasonable amount of time.

As far as you question though, I don't fight Jedi for more than 5-10min. I'm not into draining their force/mind to kill them. That's not fun for me,I prefer to take them out with my rifle, and/or catch them in situations where a beating can be handed down with extreme prejudice. So for me.... if we aren't damaging each other after 10min, I will offer a draw.

Lol..I've been tempted to /poke, /hug etc, but it seems most BH's would just get more pissed off, and start talking trash, which I do not do, nor care to hear. I did have one guy (I forgot the name, the fight about bored me to sleep) he fought me for about an hour and a half, until I had to log out for RL reasons, so naturally he got the kill. I was less than pleased at losing that way, but RL is more important than some xp. I suppose one tactic could be to just outlastme at the keyboard..lol

I agree there probably is a lot of bh who couldnt see the funny side taking things to seriously when you die in a game is a part of the problem.

I for one had quite a laugh when I had my ass handed to me by a pre 9 jedi I had mission on. Im talking under 60 seconds. I had talked to him in the cantina. offered to buy him a drink beforehand, then we went out behind the cantina to fight it out, the guy was a good jedi, no robes on no sabre equipped, although he had his food well and trully up. I asked him if he wanted me to drop the mission, I have no issues with jedi like that. He said nah but lets get out of public, so we went round the back of the cantina, he slaughtered me in under 60 seconds, didnt db and sent a good fight tell. I sent one back with a lol I suck at pvp, and a few light hearted comments.

But heck im the type of guy who drives the wrong way round the track in racing games trying work out how to cause the most spectacular pile ups, Im the type of guy who for the fun of it will strap on a set of pink hot pants and run out to /slap a ancient krayt or Dark Jedi sentinel. I alsolike to test theemotes on enemynpc's when im combatant

Well for starters, I wouldnt get any enjoyment out of killing a jedi who didnt fight back, so if after some 5 minutes I would probably drop and leave, they obviously dont want to PVP, I only get a thrill from fighting jedi who fight back , the thought that a jedi might kill me gives me that thrill. Fighting an MDEF who runs and dont fight, is about as entertaining as a > chevron BH mark.

I wish that I had the offensive capabilities to fight back, but until saber speed is fixed and I can manage some decent pearls, my only recourse is to do nothing. I'd rather fight a BH and let the outcome be whatever it may be, but as it stands right now I simply cannot, but I also will not lay down and die. I apologize to any BH that I may run across if I don't put up a fight, but it's simply a matter of survival for me atm

anyone weilding a high min (and elemental) weapon could take you down...

if you ever see a mbh/commando come after your...RUN..an LBC can kill you faster than just about anything in this game

Like others mentioned above....a good kinetics rifle...elemental damage weapons....kd/burst combos...startle shots....

There's ways to screw with your macros and there's ways to take you down. Unfortunately, most dimwit BHes will simply stand there like deadwood and spam rangedshot/placed shot for hours.

Idont know about CM but my min damage 600 kinetic rifle every few seconds is gonna make you heal more. Throw in a few well timed startles to messup your macros and you'll have to fight or run.

Not all Jedi use macros, I never don't and still haven't lost 1 on 1.

Ill tell you how i would beat you, quite easily, first i would thyroid u, slow u down, the mind debuff, root you and keep you away from me , picking at you little bit at a time, you would probably try to save your force by not running certain of your sepcials but it would make little difference, your glow stick would bounce off me and i would keep picking away, mind debuff, when your mind is getting low, start to apply dots to increase the dmg output , you would have no choice but to start eating your force due to your inability to heal through no mind, then i keep snaring and rooting you cant get away, give u 5 minutes before you drop.
Ive killed pre CU mdefs with some 3 perfect crystals in their sabres.

Not if he doesn't attack, big difference.

If you're on Wanderhome, I'll arrange a demonstration. Given your stated terms for the fight I can't imagine you'd take more that 5-10 minutes.

A /tickle would undoubtedly cost me the fight as I lost control of my character for busting up laughing IRL.

I don't know, maybe some of you should try that. If nothing else /tickle/ force run could put a quick end to the situation.

I'd be laughing to hard to give chase!

~ That reminded me of a story from when fishing was first introduced to the game.

A player was fishing on Naboo and not having much luck when another player - a Mon Cal - wandered by.

"Much luck?" he asked.

"Not really" said the player.

"Maybe I can help" the Mon Cal replied.

Before the player could enquire as to what he meant, the Mon Cal jumped in the water, swam out a bit and said "nibble nibble"!
