With heavy lag, you wont be able to see NPC's spawning in the wild, until they are actually on top of you... Using forcerun while lagging bad = Visibility generator.

Upgrading does a huge difference. I went from 512 to 1 gb myself, and now i can finally move around in coronet

512 MB memory is a must - 1 Gig is preferred.
Get cable/DSL - another must.
Also, turn down the graphic settings - yes, the game looks worse this way, but you will lag a lot less. What is more important to you - snazzy graphics or better gameplay?
Lastly, and most importantly, don't have other programs running while SWG is running (these means disabling anti-virus programs as well).

Until your @ least done with your template you really wouldn't want to use any of your force powers incl.
force run in the situations you described as it will give you excessive visibility. I assume you would mainly
use FR in the wilderness to get from one grind spot to the next or to escape from situations you want no
part of. I have no idea what your system is or the nuances of your connection, but I would say, as a fair
rule of thumb, the lag would be similar to riding your swoop depending on your graphic settings.

Isnt sattelite just good for download rates? I think sattelite connections require a modem for the "upload" part.
If you enter the launchpads options, you can choose to use some lower quality settings.
