Thread: 210k Jedi yesterday is 140k Jedi today?

Like the people bragging about grinding out a full template jedi in a month using this? That's not exactly how the jedi grinding system was designed to work. It was designed to be a slow , painful process that most of us jedi had to endure. The respec exploiting is why I sold my jedi last month. Last straw for me. Jedi are worthless now as far as I'm concerned.
You can respec from all level 1 + 2 level 2boxesinto defender 4442. this will use up nearly all the respec points. Assuming you then had just 80k xp banked, to add another 32 SP.
Not quite the totals, but you get the idea.

He's using a feature of the respec. He traded two lower-level boxes for one high level box.
I haven't seen the numbers for Jedi, but here's how it worked for me.
I filled two tier-1 boxes for carbineer at 175k apiece, that's 350k xp.
I respec'd them for the master rifle box, that's a MILLION xp.
I saved 650k and wound up with skill points to spare. Because I majored in math in college, it took me about 10 seconds to figure that one out, and use the system to get my master box in less than half the time. Exploit? No. I utilized a feature of the system the Devs put in place.
Your Jedi target obviously did something similar.
That's the way the system is designed.
Novice = 20,000xp~ 1 Respec Point ~ 8 Skill Points
Tier 1 = 200,000xp~ 2 Respec Points ~ 8 Skill Points
Tier 2 = 400,000xp~ 3 Respec Points ~ 6 Skill Points
Tier 3 = 800,000xp ~ 4 Respec Points ~ 4 Skill Points
Tier 4 = 1,600,000xp ~ 5 Respec Points ~ 2 Skill Points
Master = 3,200,000xp ~ 6 Respec Points ~ 1 Skill Point
As you can see, you can knock off 2,400,000xp by respecing Tier 1 boxes to a Master box, However you can't do this too much because of the super high skill point requirements for lower level skills.

Well, the flaw in all therespec assumptions is that a 210k bounty has all his skill points except for 16 tied up in Jedi. The only way to bring the bounty down to 140k is to respec70 jedi sp to non-jedi skills. My guess would be that he decided to be a MBH..

No, the flaw is your inability to do math. The lower tier boxes have the highest SP cost. 8 for novice, and 8 for tier one. With 5 novice boxes that's 40k, then look at the fact that there is 4 tier 1 boxes in 5 professions, so that's 32k per profession, so that's 160k. Add that 160k to the 40k and you have 200k padawn who has nothing but all tier 1 boxes. He respec's up the trees, 6 skill points for tier 2, 4 SP for tier 3, 2 SP for tier 4 and 1 SP for master. The jedi's bounty is 1k per skill point they have in Jedi skills. 4 tier 1 boxes cost 12 more skill points than a single tree up to tier 4.

It's only an exploit if Jedi do it. Ask any BH, they'll be happy to tell you.
It is an exploit no matter who does it - diferance is that I don't care if some rifleman or AS does it cuase they cannot get 3x the power doing it that Jedi can and because every time another person reaches Mast Rifles or Mast Pistols or whatever the game doesn't take one more step backwards like it does everytime a new JK arrives.

I agree. What determines if it is an exploit in this case is imho wether or not the devs intended the respec ability to be used this way. If it's a mistake by them that they can't be bothered to correct or they simply don't have the time because they have other things in the game that have higher priority, then yes it is an exploit.

Two words for you.
Double. Standard.
