Thread: When did it happen?
I used to play this game called "Tai Pei" on my Apple IIe a looooong time ago. You started off in debt and had to pay a heavy interest rate while you smuggled goods between Japan and the mainland. The trick was to pay more than you owed, thus creating a bank account that earned heavy interest (and penalty fees), LOL. It was a simple game, very easy to exploit. Gosh, I miss that sometimes. Fighting the Pirate ships was fun, too.
Glad to help. Um, what did I say that helped you?
And is it worth money? I want royalty checks if it is. ![]()
The only way the DEVs will implement smuggling as inspired by a different game will be if they get smuggling in World of Warcraft.
Actually... that might be the best way to get it into SWG, go petition Blizzard to build it into WoW. How would THAT be for trolling? SWG players posting in the WoW forums...
It's so crazy it just.... might.... work.

When did the Devs say, "HEY! Look over there!" and we looked?
They pulled a switch on us, we were "The most important thing on their table" for 2 years, and sometime recently, we became not important enough to do anything more than a simple change to the slicing code. Let's not kid ourselves. Whether this new slicing system is better or not, 5 guys on Atari boxes could've come up with these changes in a week.
Remember when I said the community wasn'tfighting for anything? Why did I calla lot of people "spineless" and try to get you all stirred up?Because without the vocal and out-spoken community that we used to have, we would end up with a system that "5 guys on Atari boxes could've come up with...in a week".
75% of this community laid down and said "just give us something". And they gave it to us....hard.
In the immortal words of Forrest Gump, "And that's all I have to say about that."
A-freaking-men! And a QFE to go along with it.
I've been saying the same thing for the past two years and all I ever got from many of you was "it makes sense we have to wait till after _________" (fill in the blank with ANYTHING) or "we should be happy we got __________" (fill in the blank with the likes of non-functional gaming tables or froggie bowls).
Are ANY of you going to say all will be well when they impliment the In Concept smuggling content? OR, maybe you noticed they took that down? Ask yourselves WHY they took it down? Maybe because they aren't going to do squat or going to do something that is in no way close to what they proposed and we discussed for 5 months?
When does this community wake up and smell the coffee and stop stuffing their faces with Feel-good pie?

so... let's all quit. let's all cancel our subscriptions.
it won't be easy. i love the idea of this game. i love Star Wars. but really how many of us can say we're truely happy with it, or that it even fulfills 1/10th of it's potential?
seriously. we should be waking up and smelling the coffee sooner or later.
how's that Eve online game? is that still around? that seemed pretty fun and sci-fi.
ah who am i kiddin... Star Wars > all.
maybe i'll just stick to single player games or PS2 games until someone comes out with a comprehensive Star Wars MMO
StarWars IS DEFINATELY greater than all.
But I don't think I'm playing StarWars anymore.
