....from my original post in the Lowca forum:

I'm curious, and I want to state that I mean no offense to the profession I'm about to mention, but I was wondering how you folks felt about the Image Designer getting a revamp? I ask because as a Ranger, a profession incomplete from launch, and wanting to see our profession fixed as quickly as possible, the Image Designer didn't seem to be one that jumps to your mind when you think of Star Wars.

The Smuggler revamp is long overdue, and I have no issue with that, and the Squad Leader really needs help as well. But Image Designer? I thought the developer intent for this game was for it to be as "Star Warsy" as possible. Han Solo's chosen profession should then, therefore, be first and foremost with the developers. I don't recall Luke, Leia or any other Star Wars icon, needing the services of an Image Designer in any installment of the series. To be fair to the ID folks, the NPC Junk Dealers are getting a revamp before Ranger's and several other more important professions.

What impact will the Image Designer and Junk Dealer have on the Galactic Civil War? It must be huge to be placed before Smuggler's, Squad Leader's, Ranger's, Pikeman and others. It must be more important than the standard bearer for George Lucas, the fabled Jedi.

My apologies to the Image Designer's, but I just don't understand. Thoughts?

As far as ID's in Star Wars...think.....Leia's hair!

On that note,I can't begrudge the ID's getting a revamp before us. Yes, we want to go first, but in all fairness, they have yet to get an once of attention from the devs. We at least got tracking and *ahem* Camo. We may have a bigger impact on the game than IDs do, but they are still a valid profession.

As far as the Junk Dealers are concerned, I think that was a horrible joke that someone misunderstood. In my estimation, a Dev said, 'Hey Joe, redesign the Junk Dealers before you do anything else.' Joe took it seriously...

That's classic Oppma! I'm glad I'm not the only one that can see our plight. It will be a long long time before we get anything, and almost everyone here seems to be okay with that.

I really under stand what you are saying Rancorr, and though I feel very much the same way you do, I had a thought as to why some of these profession may be getting changed ahead of the other profession. I think that ID is a profession that really didnt take anytime to recode. I would like to beleive that there isseperate teams working on all of the professions and some just take longer to fix then the others. Junk dealers and ID as you mentioned really have no real part in the GCW or PVP. Take the work that must go into the combat balance and the economy that most of the other profession have an effect on and I can see why junk dealers and ID have gotten thier revamp ahead of everyone else.

Maybe I'm just to much of an optimus, but this is how I kind of look at this all. All good things come to those that wait.

Really honestly and truly - who in their right freaking mind wants to be an ID. I have not met one, outside of grinders, in about forever. Talk about a waste of points. Oh yeah, I want to look like - Insert name of someone famous (me for instance).

Possibly ID is lower density than we are, but WHO FREAKING CARES??? Not like I see posts asking for IDs to come to people to do a makeover.

Methinks someone on the dev staff watches too much Bravo - Queer Eye for the Star Wars Guys - makes me wanna barf.

Can anyone give me one thing that an ID can do for me that I want??

When I was on my holo-gring, I did ID in 2 hours....and then I dumped it.

Then i saw the light and returned to ranger.

Rancorrider...I know the feeling. I have no faith in the priorities of the devs... and I dont think they're saving the best for last either. Too bad, we have a helluva lot of potential...and its just going to waste right now.

Probably because it is the easiest one to revamp.

Well, if they patch it today, they will be the only ones to do stat migration.

Dont forget that with the addition of the Space Expansion coming out they will be releasing "New, Updated, and Patched SWG" for people to buy along with it. I would bet that the info on the new races is in this "patch" as well to get us all ready for that.I mean... they cant bring out two new races without redoing ID. So we get it now. *shrug* Granted ID isnt broken but there is a timeline that it must fit into (space expansion) that must be done before Ranger(a buggy but not quite broken class) gets some love.

I agree tho... I want Ranger beefed up too.

Theoretically, ID's serve the entire community. We only perform a minor role in harvesting resources for a few things like composite armor, buffs, chef food that serve the ... erhmm, where was I going...

ID revamp probably just took 1 dev and 1 artist to do, especially since they dumped the promised tatoos. Then again, adjusting our harvesting mod would only take 1 dev and no artists at all.

The reasonthey did it is probably already in your own post, you never saw them so it was considered broken enough to warrant a revamp. Maybe we should all drop Ranger...
