Thread: Charge shot or underhand shot?

Regardless of which one is better, I keep both KD's on my toolbar... because if you miss with one, you can still land the other in a pinch.

I have also found that Charge lands a lot more often than Underhand, and it also does a good deal of damage. More than that though, I have to say that I giggle like a schoolgirl when I see the Chargeshot animation. LOL. I love it. It is absolutely hysterical.

the animation sucks, but the movement is nice, u can move while rooted

yeh charge can move you in a root...Also wile dead you will stand to puke when spice wares off lol.

the trucker special is the best special animation there is and it works nicely on djm, i find it better than underhand

I am just CL 64 and hardly uber. I hadimproved charge shotlanding and working against L81 mobs I was kiting today. No accuracy power ups or the like, just straight shooting.

Exactly. And you can use this to your advantage, since you charge the direction you are looking. Use it to get in closer to an opponent or to duck behind some cover until your root wears off.

Ok, I have the answer to this. Charge shot is better for one reason. It's not that it works better....they both work equally well....but it's all inthe damage. There's no point using underhand for this reason. Say your auto attack is critical shot for 800 damage. If you use underhand for 300 damage + KD. Your next shot (The one while he's on his back) will be about 1000 damage, then he stands up, and you are back to 800 damage per shot. Well....if you average the 300 damage and the 1000 damage, you get 650 average between those 2 shots. You actually do less damage by doing that. However if you use charge shot, your two attacks (KD + Next one) will be about 600 + 1000, which averages 800 damage. (Same as the critical shot average without using any KD) so all that you really gain, is one combat turn that your opponentdoes not attack because he's standing up. The only way it works out better for you damage wise, is that if you happen to land a critical hit while he's on his back (That one single shot) which in this case can be about 1200 damage vs. the expected 1000, and averages to 900 (for the two shots...only a 200 damage benifit.)


One last point. (Sorry if I'm babbling) If you can dizzy the guy, then KD him, then use critical shot (I know...BH special) then that one shot will be about 1400,which gives you 600 + 1400, fo an average of 1000 for a 400 point benifit. Unfortunately, confusion shot only does like 250 damage and sticks about 20% of the time, so you loose in the long run unless several people in your group hit him in that magical 1 second period.


So with all this said, Charge shot is better, butis not even worth doing unless you follow up with a high damage shot (critical hit) or if you're in a group so that several people benifit for that single shot while he's KD'd.


And yes....the animation is a bit goofy, but you learn to love it.

Well, i dont have underhand shot but i think charge shot is better cuz i never miss, plus it does a desant ammount of damage. BTW when u do charge shot, it looks a little cooler running backwards and when he/she shoots, he/she does a over-da-sholder shot

I have both, but usually use underhand as my main KD with improved charge shot as my backup. Underhand for me seems to kd about 95% of the time. Improved charge seems to kd about 75% of the time. I also don't like using improved charge shot early because the animation tips them off that it is coming and gets them ready to do kd recovery.

Underhand shot is quicker. I use that if its suppose to be a starting kd. Like in a duel. But Chargeshot hits harder. Never noticed any diffrence in KD chance.
