Still though.... Jedi can make at least 150k per hour grinding down there AFK. The likelyhood that they will have multiple deaths over a 10 AFK session is low. Maybe one, possibly 2 deaths in that timeperiod.
If they can make 1.5mil or more over 10 hours, and die twice to BHs, they still net over 900k xp. Still not a bad day's work. Even if they died 3 or 4 times over the 10 hours.... they still net a minimum of a few hundred thousand.
To stop this "free-ride" SOE would need to up the difficulty of the Feral Wookies but that would be at the sacrifice of the other players who wish to quest there... they'd then need a full group to take them on. Perhaps SOE could add in tougher mobs at that specific spawn? THough I'm sure a new grinding place would open up then....
That I think is the biggest problem. Someone will find the new 'best' spot and go crazy AFK'ing there. And then you could end up having bunches of different mobs changed just becuase a few people are taking a 'easy' way.
If they stay where they are, its free and easy kills for those who like that sorta thing.
I also gotta agree with the fact that so much of the game is geared only to top level players. Would you want to take a bunch of level 50-70's into the DWB? Corvette? Avatar? Its one of the bigger downfalls of the current level based system.
Agreed. The high level content is currently limiting the non-combat or lower-combat level players. However, if the CL of the mobs in the named areas were lowered, they would be camped 24/7 by high-level loot hunters. These places infact already ARE camped most of the time, though not 24/7 on Eclipse.
I wouldn't have a problem so much with the AFK Jedi grinding if we as hunters could hunt them effectively. Going from isntance to instance, up and down the Trail is not difficult by any means, but it is time consuming and boring. All for an AFK player. If Bounty Hunter droids worked while on Kashyyyk, there would be no (or at least less) AFK grinding going on. It's not often that I find a Jedi grinding while AFK on a planet where seeker droids work.... But at the same time, I like having a planet where the hunt is more difficult do to the droids not working. It's a catch 22, and we can't have it both ways. Perhaps a more satisfying solution would be to set Spynet npcs at some of the major areas as like in this example:
Land on kashyyyk. Speak to the spynet at the Imperial Base "Yes.... I saw the person you described not long ago, but I can't remember which way they went" A bribe option opens up. "Yes.... yes.... I remember now, they headed off toward the <enter area here>"
Then when you reach the designated area:
If the mark is there: "Yes, I think I remember seeing somene come by here not long ago with that description"
If the mark is NOT there: "No... don't remember seeing anyone with that description for some time"
You STILL don't get the name, and you STILL cannot use droids, but at least this way, we can STILL hunt the Jedi. By using the Spynet operatives for WHAT THEY ARE FOR! For information and hints on our mark's generaly or last seen location.
What do you think?

I agree also. Very good idea.

I was a BH for a long time before I was a Jedi on my main, and I'm a BH on my second. To me, the enjoyment of BH is stalking live prey who react instictively to a BH attack. The thought of sniping someone who's not even at the PC and killing them in a few shots isnt my idea of fun or excitment. I'm sure there's no adrenaline doing that.
Ok so some people fell they are the BH vigilanty and feel the need to clense the servers of those criminal afk grinders
that's they're call. TBH, I have no problems with it, ah BH death is the price you pay for being afk. The problem is, in order to deter a Jedi, you will have to take his mission over and over and over and over. It's not a big deal that these guys are there, but if you want to kill them, go right ahead.
Excellent idea. I understand there may be technology issues with droids working on Kash due to the instances involved but your suggestion sounds do-able. Five stars!
