Unfortunately the problem may well lie with your template.


From the CU diagram BH was 4,4,1 I think for attack, defence, crowd control if I remind correctly. It still needs extra damage to compliment it though.


Choosing Smuggler has given you a high score in Crown control, which unfortunately is compromised against your damage output.


You really cant complain, you cant expect to have say the damage of a rifleman when you have traded that damage for the ability to slice your own weapons and be more of a group player with your crowd control abilities. Some templates are better than others for things, the point is no one template is good at everything.

The differences between the combat classes that you combine with MBH aren't that great according to the website. My main problem IMHO is that I don't have access to DOT's to combat the incredibly high regen rate of these mobs.


The regen rate is SOOOO high that it negates cc abilities which are an important aspect to my char.


If you combine MBH with anyother combat proffession shouldn't you, if you play your class well, be successful?

you might consider some kinetic resist armor...


I have 8100 resist Ubese for energy... but if I come up against a double gold I switch to my Composite as I know they will eventually go melee and that is USUALLY kinetic.. Unless of course he pulls out a vibro lance like my last gold mark did LOL that is energy... so my Composite was at a bit of a disadvantage.



Also consider getting a CL30 combat droid... they only hit for about 70 or so on the CL82 marks... but they fire very fast and the damage adds up....

I don't find it difficult with my template to avoid Melee... but I might try this strategy.


And the droid idea is good too... although kinda goes against how I would LIKE to achieve victory.

Okay as of last night I fought about 10 marks, out of the 10 I got 3 bosses, all over the 35k or so. None of the weak 17k HAM ones.


Well out of the 3 bosses, I waxed two like it was a peice of cake, mind you they are alot harder then the old boss marks.


Then the last mark of the day, was a boss with 35k ham so I eat my food and go into, about 3min into the fight I am like crap. This was one of the few, rare, boss marks that regen faster then my 788 DPS FWG Pistol, Damage Pupped has 70 or so SAC. Well this had me worried, so I end up fighting him for about 40 or so minitues, till my mind runs out, and mind you I am useing Stim's when I can, useing Ruby to reduce the cool down timer.


To make a long story short I was killed, I ran out of mind and knew I was screwed, I did more healing then damage during the fight which is the how I lost. I ran through the combat log, because I saw some shots that did over half my health. Figured it was lag since it was on Talus, and on the Bria server Talus is a lag **edit**. Then I am BSing with my guildies on Ventrillo and come up seeing that in one hit he me for over 1200 points with my armor! I was like holy crap, so I look through and see a few more hits like that! Oh and mind you my armor is Armor Break sliced, even my normaly every day grinding armor.


Next time I run into one of these I know what I am going to do, have one of the Master Doc's or Master CM in my guild come along and just heal my ass while I do the damage. In those fights, the problem is I did so much so much healings, I was to busy healing to keep the damage on him to kill his regen because his damage output is just insane. Oh and mind you all I don't have crappy armor, my armor is pretty damn good. My guild armor smith is pretty damn amazing in what he makes me, since I drop him off the BH Shem so he can sell them and all that, he goes out of his way to make me some damn good stuff.


So their at least two types of 35k boss marks, their is one which is better then the old boss marks, then their is some other ones whos regen is so impossible it's jaw dropping, and who's dps iscrazy high.


PS: I can only take so much of Mustifar before the red glow gets on my nerves.. LOL

Your damage is suspect. My rodian female MBH/Mpistols/CM4000 has 2900 HAM, uses unsliced 6000 resist ubese armor, sliced Krayt enhanced weapons that exceed 1000 dmg with DPS over 500. She is capped in defense and speed. She uses buffs and food to keep some advantage. Against boss and elite marks she wins. Most marks take 3 minutes to waste their HAM. The secret is when t use your inherent heals and stim D. Adjust your tactics, move and get some LOS advantage if necessary. Not all marks can be tanked in a face to face standoff. Hope that helps.

The answer to this problem is really very simple and doesn't require you to change your template or be a FOTM. Simply take level 73-74 missions for 29k payout rather than the level 82-83 31k payout missions. The loot drops are identical, the marks don't hit as hard, your armor lasts longer, and you only lose 2k or so on a payout.

What pistols do you have that are over 1000 max dmg? how about a screen shot? I think the feather weight FWG is the best pistol you can get, damage caps at 966... as for 3 min, there is no way that you have fought one of these boss' with the insane regen rate...they regen so fast a group of pistoleers could not take them down in 3 min.


As I said above I fought one of these guys as a BH/CM/pist 3001...it took forever to kill him..armor 6k battle w 2k psg, pistol 65 sac max 966 fwg. Its my fundamental problem with the CU and all changes since is that everything makes combat go slower, you dont think more, tactic's are not different, everything is just slower. Apply dots, spam specials, heal when needed..repeat until mob is dead...why the devs think it is more fun to do this in 20-30 min as opposed to 5 I have no idea.

I have no problem killing these mobs.


mbh, mrifle, 4000cm.


I'm using average gear. Nothing that one good drop wouldn't buy.


((249k for the gun, 350k for the armor, 800k for 2 ranged arms))


These mobs are tough, but far from impossible.


I have more problems with the magical teleporting mobs than their regen or ham

I assumed that he was referring to a rifle cause 1k damage from a Pistol is mighty nice way better than mine currently.


My Assulat Bowcaster can break 1k if I PUP it for Damage but then the SAC kills me at 92.



My Eq costs cause someone else brought this up:



My Armor I bought a packaged deal 1 Million 8064 Energy something close to 5k Kin.


Assault Bowcaster 500k a steal IMHO certainly not the best stats but the NICE ones go for ~ 5mil on my server.


Maybe 100k for the Scatter clearly the weakest link it has decent enough damage but the reason I like it is for the SAC. One of the lowest I have seen for a Scatter.


With my Bowcaster and this Scatter I am able to spam specials almost constantly and I don't take a hit on damage loss. I rarely get my Action to 80% or lower. I also keep 2 backup PUPS of both kinds in my inven along with backup Spice in case the fight lasts that long.

My currant FWG has over a max of 1000 damage as well. What you do is buy a damage pup for the fwg and you can increase the damage, remember that a low SAC gun is key so you don't have to put a sac pup on it and just put a damage one on instead. Anything under 80 is the way to go, an FWG sac max is 65 I belive, just picked one up myself and need to see if the 14dps loose is worth it. I also have a scatter pistol as well which is half way decent too.

over 1000 max is impossible, unless it was converted that way from pre-cu FWG. Max Dam on FW FWG is 966.. thing regular FWG is same as scatter 948.
