Thread: Is master S(s)muggler/master Bounty Hunter possible?
Back during the Respec era, I tried this template, it was super fun.... but Last Ditch DID incap me and the Jedi I was fighting. Did this get changed?

I agree you should do what you like, but MBH/SMUG is a difficult template to play. As a good friend of mine said, you have to know your character and his abilities, bonuses, and stats like the back of your hand to get it just right. But if you DO get it right, you can beat almost anything. Just yesterday, I already beat 2 Jedi with the template.
Here's my strategy for using the template:
Stay farther from the Jedi (up to 65m) and switch to a rifle. It doesn't need to be good, just enough to apply Low Blow, Panic Shot, Reckless Shot, and Restraining Shotto slow them and lower defense. (I use pistol for main weapon, so I'm going from that point of view.) After the debilitating shots, hit them with Concussion Shot to make sure they won't be going anywhere for awhile. Close distance running or burstrunning, switch to pistol, and hit Underhand Shot. Blast away at them then with Critical Shot (I wouldnt recommend Torso Shot, more on that later). Make sure you have ranged shot or aimed shot as your auto-attack. When they get up, depending on the damage they deal, heal accordingly with Stim D's or Bacta Shot. If you can't heal fast enough, hit them with Concussion Shot again and heal/regen during that time period (40 seconds or so). Repeat. If you are losing really bad, DO NOT feign death. Wait till you have a sliver of health left, then use Last Ditch. It WILL NOT incap you (only does that in PvE), and if the jedi is lower than 3/4 health, you will almost always incap them (depending on their defense, you can hit 2500+ damage if your health is really low!)
Might or might not help, but there you go!

KaWizLightingcrest, I like your strategy there. I have dueled jedi in my guild, and friends that are jedi, and even using this strategy, I could only get one incap. As stated before, Im still new to these types of games, so Im sure I dont know everything I should.
As for using Last Ditch, thats how I got my incap, and I was not incapped. Out of a possible 3600 dam, I did 1900something. The jedi I was dueling had force defense on (force aura I think, not sure) so that absorbed like 1600-1700 damage. Still a very good attack, but wouldnt suggest using this if the jedi is close to you because of the delay last ditch has.
That's odd because whenever I've used Last Ditch it drains all my pools and health but it leaves me with 1 health left...weird that it incaps you

as for PvE, I love it. If I get in trouble I can Feign Death, wait a minute, while whatever I was shooting is still sitting there. As for a temp to hunt jedi, I would honestly not go with it. I have only killed one jedi, and was thrashed by two others. Those results alone led me to stop taking player bounties. Of then again,it is very possible that I suck. This is my first game I've played outside the sports arena, and only been playing for like 5 months, still learning strategies. So maybe someone elsecan help you out more.
Dude, that was the funniest thing that I've read in quite some time. I think only because I freakin suck too.
/lol
I'm Master Smuggler/MBH with 0020 Medic, a +19 Healing Eff Undershirt and a +16 (I think) Healing Eff Bandolier. I absolutely love the template for PVE and NPC Bounty Missions. Smuggler was the first profession I mastered since joining up at the start of the summer, and I'm quite attached to it. With conc shot and feign death I can get through some really dangerous stuff even without a strong offense. Should've seen me make my way to the bottom of the Ryatt Trail to kill Scratch to get the trando rifle. That was a trick and a half
I somehow managed to isolate himfrom his damn nosey Minstyngarfriendsand beat him through a very very tricky combination of FD, Conc Shot and Panic Shot.
As for PVP and hunting Jedi, I can't vouch for it. To be honest, I'm horrible at PVP to begin with. Whether I'm MSmug/MR or MSmug/MP or anything, I'm just plain bad
I have taken a few jedi missions out of curiosity but I have not engaged any jedi yet as most missions I've pulled have not been opportune ones. The way my luck works the ones I checked out were all imperial jedis hanging out in their imperial towns. Oh yea, that works great for the element of surprise. A random rebel driving through cities which didn't even have malls which I could pretend to shop in
In those scenarios I'd stick out likea sore thumb and frankly, atleast until I get some PVP skill, the direct approach isn't going to produce many dead jedi for me haha. However I've read on here from others that the template can work for hunting jedi if you know how to use it. At the end of the day though I'm just looking for some fun and as of now the content of NPC missions helps me achieve that goal, atleast until I ever get smuggler missions hehe. So overall I'd say it's a fun template.
