Well, I guess you just supported my statement but in a different way.
If it does not stack with spices, then food is broken. I've yet to meet a good bh that doesnt use booster blue in their Jedi hunts. So, if taking booster is a must (the health bonus)then I guess there is no need for action regen food, yes?

The sky is NOT falling, chicken little. I just ran about an hour and a half worth of tests..... all are woking. Hell, I even tested the negative regen bonuses of spice. that's working too.
DO NOT STOP TAKING FOODS..... they do work!!!
I'll be back on later tonight to post results and methods used. Unfortunately the errands I am in charge of completing will not get done without me... so I will have to wait until later to enlighten all you naysayers.
edit - Oh, and I accounted for server lag (only got about 2-3 seclag every 6 min... worst was 4 sec lag total in over 6 min.) Lag is not an issue in my testing. One example of testing showed I could heal for 50% longer period of time before running dry on Mind (using Caf and booster blue). Another showed I could shoot for an additonal 44% longer period of time without running out of action (using nuetron pixie and blob candy, versus only blob candy).
One thing to note..... kneeling does NOT change regen rates. I didn't test prone, ran out of time.

Well that settles it. Not that I didn't tryust you Whynter. Yoru exploits (not explouits in teh game sense, but deeds) are well documented. One of the more lethal BH's , by reputationIt is jsut good to confirm such things from more than one source. And since it is comin from the Chef's mouth, I trust it to be truly accurate.
What dose this mean, though, for us now? Should I Destroy any regen foods I have in stock? save them? eat them anyway?
Suppose now I have to re-evalute my entire strategy. Here I was, relying on action and health regens to keep me alive. And They dont work to save my life. Explains a lot, really. 46s/48s really isnt a difference at all. Now, 46s/30s would be great.
I would suggest you read the whole CHEF thread. As you will see, the majority believe the regen foods are working through their experiences in PvP. There are also others who have tested the foods and show that they do indeed work.
If you don' t believe that they work, that is fine. Don't use them and die more often. Your choice.

Thats right, I ran tests with another guy for 20 minutes. Tests involved us firing our weapon at each other until we got the message "You are to tired to do this." We both ran tests with and without different foods and spice, and would carefully count the amount of shots it took until we got this message. In all cases the amount of shots were always the same or off by 1 shot more or less. I removed my sac pup to drain my action more quickly, and always ended up with 14-15 shots before the message. What does this mean? Well until this is fixed, only use food and drink that ether increases total health, or have a direct benefit such as parwan nutricake or synthsteak. Also, consider using booster blue for your spice if you use healing in your hunts.Message Edited by Phaylen on 08-22-2005 08:34 AM
I've always suspected this, thanks for confirming it.

Just read the chef post and farther down the post someone else did some testing and this seems to be more accurate. There IS in fact a regen rate to the foods, but it isn't where it should be in terms of percentages...so is it borked? Sort of....although officially I'm sure it is working as intended.

Okay.... FOODS DO WORK, dang it.
Action regens!!
Firing confusion shot until I reach 70% action. Used a Cdef pistol with 102 SAC.
Test 1 - Time =1:32 to reach 70% Action. No foods/spice, standing (base line)
Test 2 - Time =1:32 to reach 70% Action. No foods/spice, kneeling(shows no difference in action regen, and gives expected error of 2 sec for 4 min)
Test 3 - Time =Never Reached 70%act.Blob candy, 178 pts action regen. (action pool fully recharged beforeeach new shot)
FiringKip-up shot until I reach 70% action. Same pistol
Test 4 - Time= 0:40 to reach 70% action. Blob candy, 178 pts action regen. (new base line for testing nuetron pixie)
Test 5 - Time = 1:11 to reach 70% action. Blob candy, and Nuetron Pixie (Shows that blob candy and NP effects DO stack)
=============
Mind regens!!
Using Bacta Spray (Nov CM), and a macro that fires it every 10 seconds, until pool points were drained and heal could not be made.
Test 1 - Time = 4:04 to reach no heal. No foods / Spice. Standing (baseline for tests)
Test 2 - Time = 4:02 to reach no heal. No foods / Spice. Kneeling (2 sec server/client lag difference)
Test 3 - Time = 3:33 to reach no heal. Caf / Nuetron Pixie (Shows debuff from NP is working)
Test 4 - Time = 4:40to reach no heal. Caf, no spice (Shows a slight improvement of regen, about 16.66% above base)
Test 5 - Time = 6:06 to reach no heal. Caf, Booser Blue (Shows significant increase of regen, about 50% above base)
Regens DO work. End of story.
