Bounty Hunter are the equalizers in the galaxy. If a person is put on a term with a price on their head, it's our responsiblity to hunt them down. If the Jedi we hunt is in our own faction, then they should have been more carefull to not get a price on their head. Thats our thing thats what we do.

It's not are responsiblity to hunt them down. BonutyHunters are Bountyhunters because they get payed very well to hunt down the scum of the galaxy. Now in are case! the paycheck maybe pretty good yeah but, it's more of the thrill that get's us. It is a game after all. Now your make it sound as if we are some kind of Do gooders with this big job hanging over are heads. If it was that way; then I say keep the Bountyhunter job....

Personally, I'd say as an imp character, you have a pretty good reason to kill all Jedi, dark and light. The Emperor wants all illegal Jedi killed. Personally, I think that it is a flaw in the game to force Dark Jedi to be Imperial. But then again, there are ALOT of faction-related issues in this game that need to be looked at.

From a player standpoint, I'd say f it and I'd kill 'em. Heck, I'm going to have trouble not attacking people in the guild I'm trying to join. If those people are just in an allied guild, but not your own, I would go for it.

But this depends on you as a person. If you play your character in a roleplaying kind of way, I say you have every reason to go for it. If you only care about staying true to your friends in the guild, you can still go for the other people. Weigh which is more fun for you; the people in your guild or killing Jedi.

There are LOTS of major venders that do exclude known faction members and guilds just so they don't help the them. But you know as well as I do that this arguement is somewhat intellectually challanged. It's really not possible under the game constraints to stop everyone from walking into your store and buying things. But it sure is possible for you when rolling up on a purple dot not to attack him. Anyone arguing that it's okay to hunt same factioned Jedi is missing the larger picture here.

Actually, you are missing the larger picture. If you are so true to the Empire, you would follow the laws of the Empire and look to the destruction of all Jedi.

As for your store example, you could always not have a vendor, right? I suppose the argument against that would be how would the artisan characters do their job and make money, correct? Well, they could still make weapons and only sell them to same faction players that they meet. That wouldn't be very fair to them though, because it would severely limit their ability to play their profession.

The same holds true with BH. It is no more fair to expect a Imperial Weaponsmith to make sure he only sells to Imperial players than it is to expect an Imperial BH to make sure he only hunts Rebel Jedi.

I'm also on Bria and I always thought that ID idea was stupid. I was in a guild basedout of Fort Berchest and they were extremely against hunting Jedi of the same faction so I refrained from hunting them for a long time. Now that i'm guildless I take on a mission here and there faction doesn't matter but i'm not as motivated as I was when I told that I shouldn't. If they trully are cool with you now then whenever you leave the guild they shouldn't shun you. You can also start up your own guild too.

Nefi, let me give you some advice. Since it was my guilds Jedi you attacked twice yesterday. You're Imp, the Jedi you attacked was Imp. You didn't just leave the Jedi alone, you tried to kill him, but he got away both times and went through his leader and eventually spoke to yours who flat out told you to stop doing it. What you are failing to see here is that we're all supposed to be on the same team. Those players you piss off one day won't be there to support you or your guild when they're needed. And I know that was told to you yesterday as well. If you are so hell bent on hunting indiscriminately, then you should leave Omerta because you'll do nothing but give it trouble doing what you're doing. Also, I suggest dropping the Imp tag because in hunting and killing the strength of your faction, you obviously don't give a damn about it.

I also left my guild, it was a mutual agreement this way any retaliation is just against me. I don't care what faction the jedi is. I prefer them to be opposite myself so I get faction pts from them, but other than that, its a paycheck and that's all I care about.

ive had guild leaders threatening to have me kicked out of my guild for hunting rebel jedi as a rebel BH.

im banned from every rebel city in bria.

i have almost every jedi slutgroupiefriend on my ignore list.

Ive even gone to hunt rebel jedi as an over rebel with a rebel pet in tow. When their imp groupfriends jump my pet usually deals him good damage (love it when they fullchargeshot for like 5k damage un-mitigated lol).

If they're on terminals i'll go after them. Simple as that.

A jedi should be hunting alone not grouping and powergrinding in DWB or Geocaves.

Heck i even had one of the morons /tell me that his death was nothing since he'd regain the lost xp from the DB in less than an hour.

Less than an hour later he was on terminals again and so was I /db'ing him.

Idiot punks.

'Because people have begun to loose their hopes and forget their dreams. So the nothing grows stronger. It's the emptiness that's left. It's like a despair, destroying this world. And I have been trying to help it.'
'But why?'
'Because people who have no hopes are easy to control. And whoever has control has the power'

If hunting Jedi of your same faction is such a no no shouldn't selling weapons, armor, buffs, foods to the opposite faction bethe same? In the short term or long run I believe thats far worse if you trully cared about your faction you wouldn't be aiding them. And don't anyone say thats not aiding them because it sure hell is. True everyone loves a profit and i'll take that as a valid and honest excuse. But BHs don't hunt because of profit. It's almost impossible to make a profit being that all the good paying missions are usually too difficult to do alone. Most BHs hunt Jedi because of the thrill they get from doing it. Or because they love the different roleplaying angles they can use as a BH. Etc...

Do we tell you how to play your toon? Why should a BH be told how to play their profession?

Jedi should have their own faction. BH too.

Have any imperials protecting these Jedi ever read the terminals? The Empire has no need for Jedi.

I do enjoy all the arguements in th BH forum, but this one is approaching the realms of being rediculous.

It will never be completelyresolved untill SOE alter the GCW and the way teffs work.

From everythingi have read there are threemain reasons for the arguement, gank squads, politicsand continuity. with gank squads some BH's use faction to possibly reduce the impacta gank squad could have, some Jedi use multi faction protection groups etc, basically comes down to the old "i win" button arguement, neither side of these players wants to loose at all, and use faction appropriately, in the end this is b*ll***s

With regards to continuity, the only element in question is the rebel hunting rebel, Jedi are automatically criminals by order of the Emporer, and so will be hunted, so it doesn't matter what faction Jedi is when bein hunted by Imperial BH. problem arrises with rebel BH's, they can hunt Imps as rebels kill imps, but to hunt rebels is the questionable area. BUT what if BH is a merc, hired on occasion by the rebels because they are good at what they do (i seem to remember Han being more of a merc than anything for episode 4 and 5 at least) when not working for the rebels they canget on with what they do, killing for money.

Finally is the politics, guilds alliances etc.... I am fortunate that i am leader of a guild founded from a much larger multigame clan, only rules i state is that no hunting guildies unless both are in agreement to do so (bit of a laugh). Other than that if our members want to hunt same or opposite faction, or what ever that is up to them. I don't think ANYONE other than SOE have the right to tell others how to play the game, if soe don't like it they change the mechanics or game rules other wise let people get on with what they want to do, and to be quite frank its non of your damned business.

If it breaks rules, goes against mechanics, thats a matter for soe, if you don't like what they do its a pretty big galaxy, don't associate with them. For jedi that don't like same faction BH's hunting them, don't get on the terminals in the first place. for BH's that don't like it, that is their choice, its their money paying the subscription after all. Oh and guilds can impose all the rules they want, this again is their right to do so.

Nonsense. You totally glossed over my earlier comment regarding the cannon and EU examples. In the EU there were plenty of Dark Jedi or Force Sensitives that were directly aligned with the Empire, or Palpatine specifically. SOE did a crappy job of implementation, but you should be able to see through that regardless. The Empire isn't interested in destroying all Jedi, if you look at it from the EU perspective. They're interested in destroying non dark Jedi. If the game were meant to be a direct adaptation of the films, a LOT of things would be different. The game is NOT the movie.

I'm not hunting those guys, just the one the Empire doesn't like.

So, we are talking about the practical application of the EU and Cannon, and saying we SHOULD have Jedi? Now that's something new.

Either way, like the above poster said, those Imperial BH are still hunting the ones the Empire has deemed suitable for termination.
