Thread: New Expansion whats the deal?
To be honest I really cannot comment without breaking the NDA. ALl i can say is that you need to trust that Devs did something different this time. THe quests are more engaging. They are not simple delivery and fetch mission for each of them. Some of the actually require you to think. Devs also mentioned that there will be moral choices to be made in some of these quests. How that exactly plays out, I'm not sure yet
Yes there is no space zone "right now", and I'm baffled also why the same dev team could not put one out under a similar development cycle. The only reason I can think of is that the content of Mustafar demands the attention of the whole expansion team. Who is to say they don't patch in a Mustafar Space zone at a later time?
Long term naysayers have alot of good things to say about this expansion on the beta boards. It's too bad they enforce NDA during beta. I believe Beta boards should be publically viewable by all, and only those in the beta should be able to post.
Thats how most MMO's are doing their betas now.
As far as instances go, the Devs already said there will be less than there were on Kashyyk. To be honest, I don't think you will find Jedi leveling here like Kashyyk. Not going to say why, but it's just my opinion.

They talk about ob-y-gn 'blue glowie' give'n out quests....I bet the good guy jedi is just histatic to give an imperial BH some missions. SWG quests are dull. None of them have a compelling story line, they are usually short and apear to be half baked ideas. One good trip through Nek Castle in EQ2 has more content then almost ALL of swg. Not to mention multiple interesting story lines to follow. Heck, the $8, yes $8 digi DL mini pack for EQ2 has more content then almost all of swg. Sad really.
High end content quests? /bah, anything Devs make 'end content' balanced with jedi in mind. Long story short, if you dont have a jedi in youre group, you are somewhat out of luck. I.E. - DWB - Vette. If they balance it for mortals, jedi will breeze through it, trivializing what ever loot there is. Oh man loot, lets just get more weapons and armor in game that is quested or drops that is better then crafted goods. Why bother having schematics drop? When you can just cut out the middle man.
No mob variety anymore. CL85 is CL85, no matter a npc, krayt, nuna - damage delt, taken, misses, hits etc, asside from HAM they all have the same backround information going. The system is too dumbed down to allow any real variety. You will be get'n new models yes, but fighting a CL 85 mob on Must is going to be EXACTLY like fighting any other CL85 mob on ANY planet. Not to mention a large amount of any new mob ingame, all seem to be variables on the "the acklay" model in some form or another.
I think I heard there is no space sector ? Way to be consitant. Maybe if we try to fly in there we can get the message "Due to the heat and high sulfer, youre ships rockets can not ignite", then if there are instances (like kash) they can use the same lame message for BH droids that you guys can seem to learn the code for.
This will be the first time (hopefully the last) that both my accounts are going to be cancelled when a expansion comes out. Well, at least most likely. I only see the focus on jedi growing. Those of you that think ToO is going to be some kind of great experience I believe you are in for a big let down.
Another totally clueless poster I See. Obi Wan is just one facet of the expansion, and guess what He is not the only way you do missions! I take it your not in beta, so how about you refrain from posting stuff like this. Its your choice if you decide to purchase it or not, but do not be making false statements trying to discourage others from buying and enjoying it. For the record there has been 0 that I have done that required jedi. Yes, the expansion is geared to all players. The Devs have said this countless times.
The title of the expansion in of its self, promotes jedi. I don't see mention of Chefs on the cover to it, nor do I see mention of dancers. Obi Wan just happens to be the aspect of the game they put on the front cover. Don't tell me the expansion is not jedi centric and then provide nothing backing you up, I realize NDA mostly prevents this, I'm going by past practice of the Devs and a little foresight. - Look at ROTW - It was a bomb (read not 'da bomb), they promised the same type of 'quest' based experience and did it horribly. If they balance content around mortals, jedi groups will trivialize the loot gained there, and/or rule that portation of the econ.
Sure there might be some Jedi Related Loot (Lava Crystal) , but there will more than likley be tons more normal profession loot in comparison. For you NDA hounds, nothing I said here can not be thought of as violation because it's all derived from info that has been publically stated by the DEVS.

As far as content goes ,I'd say there is 150-200 hours worth of stuff to do. THe quests are unlike anything that has been seen in this game yet.
Which would be good, because with VERY few exceptions every quest in this game has been sh*t. But again I'm not buying into it.
Buy it or not, I don't care. However by not buying it you are just providing safe passage from hunting to jedi on your server.
This statement was suposed to do what? Make me feel guilty of quit'n? Are there instances on Must? I have a hunch our jedi friends are already safe there
