Thread: Tips for grinding Investigation 3

I am new to bounty hunter and have decided to go through it the hard way and not slice bases where I can avoid it(if the guild needs me I must go)... I capped XP and trained investigation 1 and 2 now I am working on 3... here is the problem apperantly at 3 the mark moves and I lack the droid track ability.
A few questions:
1. Can I avoid losing the mark (WP stays at a shuttle though three driods) by driving to him? Not sure on this one, as never had a problem with shuttling in.
2. Do the marks even move if I don't shuttle once I am on the right planet and have sent the first seeker? Yes
3. how much Investigation XP is there to be had per mission (I have 6k to go at this rate it may take weeks) I was getting 450xp per mission ( I was doing level 62 missions, with a level 67 char )
4. With how slow my droids are will the mark have moved once the waypoint comes back? Not always, but they do move more often than not, I would say 80% moved.
5. Are there any general tips you can share regarding NPC missions?
a) When I first landed on the planet I hit ctrl+v to check to see where they were located. If tehy were on water I just aborted and went back for a new mission.
b) When hunting my mark, I would land and immediately travel toward the waypoint. When I got to 2000m I would launch my first seeker and continue to waypoint. If my mark was at the waypoint I wasted a seeker, if he was not there then I made a new /waypoint at the spot, and my seeker would update the new location. I would then go in a straight line between the 2 waypoints, and if he was not at the next waypoint just continue going straight and you will run into them. Marks travel pretty much in a straight line from their originating waypoint.
c) If at all possible get a probot droid to help you. If you mark ends up a little ways out in the water send in the probot to attack, then call it to you to get the mark out of the water. You also get teh group xp bonus when you group with your droid.
d) Make sure you also get inspiration buffs, that extra 10% means you only need to get 9k xp instead of 10k.
Thanks for your time, I have looked at the guide but I did not find the answers I was looking for, hopefully somone can help me out.
I just finished up invest 3 today, and it took me 2 play sessions of about 4 hours each. It will probably take you longer though, as I traind invest 1, then maxed out 10 xp on local planet missions before I trained invest 2. That left me halfway there with 5k xp toward invest 3.
Good luck, and welcome.

Clickification please. In a nutshell, your mark will move 180m per minute. This is from the time you first locate the WP with your probe. There is no mob there until you get within 108m of the WP. Your mark will spawn when you cross the 108m threshhold. At level three you should be getting anywhere from 200-400 xp per kill. You should have no problem getting close enough to your mark to spawn him eventually. But don't be surprized to use 3-4 droids in the process.I recommend slicing bases.
Will try not to give duplicate info from above (although if you read the clickies you'll get a complete description)...
