Thread: Jedi vs Dark Jedi, BHs vs Smugglers, and Rebels vs Imperials
Great idea, but 1 problem. If jedi have there power restored to what it should be, how would you balance out the PvE boss mobs that drop the good items? Jedi would just camp them and the rest of the SWG community would cry foul. Dont get me wrong, I play a jedi and a bh, and would love to be powerful again, but I think that is the major problem with what you propose.
Unless they had the more powerful NPCs in a cave or something, where no jedi were allowed in, and some that only jedi were allowed in <like the crystal caves should be on Dantooine> then it would work.
In addition, this would offer at least some type of reason for the Smuggler to stay and fight you instead of running, by knowing that if they win they will be putting you on the terms.

As a smuggler, I would love to see player bounties placed on smugglers. However, a decent smuggling system during which you gain this visibility (based on the type of mission take, methods of your smuggling, and whether or not you fail). What's in concept right now is pitiful. Here's some very basic thoughts I've had about the Underworld.
Jedi vs. Dark Jedi or even Sith Apprentices would be great. Get your SW history straight folks, while there are technically only 2 Sith, there are hundreds of disciples of the Sith Order. It's just like there are limited numbers on the Jedi Council but many more members of the Order. Therefore it's not wrong to say "Sith" when referring to many evil force weilding players. However, to be Dark Jedi, you must first be a part of the Jedi Order and have fallen. More generic Jedi Order vs. Sith Order would make more sense, however not in the current timeline. This conflict would need to include the FRS.
Bounty Hunters, in my opinion, should continue to be able to hunt player Jedi from Padawan all the way up, regardless of whether or not they're full template.
They wouldnt be the ones that spawn randomly in the wild, they would be BH mission spawned Jedi NPCs, and their only purpose would be to give BHs that want to hunt Jedi a good challenge.

And putting BH on the terms would be fun. If you fail or abort too many missions. It would be great...or maybe have an underworld ranking system for smugglers and BH, so you end up on the terms for too high a rating (smugglers) and too low (BH)...
But enough about not hunting Jedi anymore...don't screw this up for everyone else. If you don't want to hunt them....then don't, but don't take away my content because you don't like it.

The problem is, in the "system" outlined in the OP, Jedi will be the powerlevels they SHOULD be, not the ones they are currently in game. That being the case, it wouldnt be a fair fight. You still can fight PCs though, so your NOT losing any content as you claim.

Well no offense EC, but the BH on terminal idea is still lame no matter how you try to spin it. Sounds like an idea made up by a disgruntled Jedi to be honest.
If anything, I'd like to see some kind of BH Ranking System. Maybe base it on points per PC kill. That way you must maintain a certain number of points in order to accept PC missions. That way if you keep dying you would not be hired until you worked your way back up again. That way BHs would have to keep some kind of standing and gain a reputation. That is just an idea though.
I mean putting a dead guy on a terminal does absolutely nothing for the game expect maybe upset a bunch of useless BHs. Not only that, but what about new people to the game who want to try PVP or PC missions? I know my first few missions I was useless because I had to learn the ropes, and how to play my template, so by your logic I get smoked in 30 seconds by the first PC I come against and am now hunted? Sounds kind of harsh for the new player trying the profession out. At least with some kind of BH System it could be content for everyone and make competition among BHs. Heck, allow politicions or something to place bounties and able to contact these BHs that have enough points to hunt a PC.
There are a lot of ways to make the system better, putting BHs on terminals has to be the worst idea I've ever heard. Which is suprising since the rest of your ideas are actually good.
I agree that removing Jedi from the common GCW is a good idea. However, I feel that "uncommon" appearances of Jedi players in the GCW would be great. The VERY FIRST thing that would need to happen, however, is the implementation of a viable GCW. If any of the steps were to happen before it, the system in place would not be able to support the changes. "Normal" professions need reasons to partake of the GCW. Real advantages and disadvantages. Real strategy. Real consequences. If the GCW isn't fixed but Jedi are taken out then the GCW will cease to exist because there are far too many Jedi. Revamping the GCW either first or at the same time as taking Jedi out would encourage more of the elite professions, including Jedi alts.

A Bounty Hunter ranking system should be created, in which you advance based on your mission performance.
3) Rebels vs Imperials:
Rebels and Imperials are free to fight one another w/out worrying about a Jedi getting involved.
A GCW ranking system should be created in which you advance by killing members of the opposite faction in PvP.
Thoughts?

This has been discussed for quite a while. I would LOVE to see this, but didn't a dev say that jedi would never be excluded from the gcw (as in reb vs imp)? Not that it couldn't change.
I personally thing this solution is the BEST out there and have been waiting to see it implemented. ![]()
