Bounty Hunter Archive
Thread: Template Discussion
If I wanted my smuggler to use the DE-10, I could go for the tripple master... but what I really want to do is reach speedcap without having to buy +20 in attachments.
My Bounty hunter on the other hand originally was going for majority in carbines over pistols... I was going to speedcap both:
3440 BH
4041 Pistol
3434 Carbineer
But now that I am thinking of mastering Pistoleer and going:
3410 BH
Master Pistoleer
0433 Carbineer.
This leaves me with +85 carbine speed, with a few +1's I can speedcap that. It also leaves me with +89 pistol speed which I have a +3 pistol speed which would cap me.
Has anyone done this template that I am thimking of trying? If so, how is it?
I really love the DE-10 and atleast one of my characters, since start of the game has been a Pistoleer. I really in many ways wish the DE-10 wasn't a Master Pistol, but I understand why it is, its a friggn sweet gun.
Anyways, here's a BUMP.
Yeah, I just respec'ed from MCH/MRanger to MCH/ MBH, and I'mlearning the bounty hunter ropes. My extra skill points are currently in Artisan 3044 because I also deal in exceptional resources. I used to specialize specifically in organics, but I found that inventory didn't move fast enough to provide a reliable cash flow. After trading in Ranger for MBH, I do miss the few things about Ranger that worked, like Area Track, a few of the traps, and creature harvesting. I think that as a MCH/MBH I out-harvest my previous MCH/MR because the kill ratio makes up for the lower harvest numbers.
I didn't take bounty hunter because I wanted to be some uber-toon, but because of the skillpoint trade-off and I didn't like dying as an only option in PvP. I wanted enough left over skillpoints to maintain the artisan/merchant that I used to sell stuff. What I'd like to do is MCH/Smuggler when smuggler finally gets to do smuggling missions. I'm _hoping_ to have my alt unlocked by then (and that's as far as I'm going to go in FS) to start a new crafting toon and move my vendors to that toon. We'll see how it goes.
I really enjoyed the MCH/MRanger, as it seemed to be a natural combination. The perfect wilderness toon. With Ranger as my second 'combat class', the aggro change didn't affect me much. I just tossed traps to single-pull. Meant that single-pull range dropped to 45m for 100+ is all. While traps have a bad rap, I found that even after the Publish 20 aggro changes I could use creatures and traps to take down ALL of the non-Kashyyyk trophy creatures, which include no fewer than three elite cl80 creatures, at least one of which was a double-elite - I think it was the Mutant Acklay. I soloed them ALL as a MCH/Ranger, including the Gorax of Endor. I used an Imperialcarbine, a graul, and a sh*t-ton of NERFED P-darts. I kitedhim around like a hookedmarlin.
The only one that sent me to the cloner was the mutant Acklay, and he sent me twice.BTW, all of that was without pet stims too. Heh, I didn't learn the lesson of pet stims till I took my first Boss NPC hit. That b*stard sent me to the cloner three times. After that lesson, I carry a case of stim-Ds and two cases of pet-stim-Ds (which, btw, don't have a timer - they tag onto regular stims, meaning that as long as it's just your pet fighting, you can spam pet-stim-Ds until you run dry. But the minute you use a stim on yourself, you can't stim your pet again until YOUR timer wears off.)
Just my experiences. Not saying that I'm all that, just that picking the right tactics for a given situation makes all the difference. Heh, which means that the 'right tactics' to do more than die in PvP is it respec
, hence dropping ranger for BH.

Yes, area healing from CM hits pets.

Also putting some points into FS abilities.
I have some Stim D's for me, and Pet Stim C's for pets. Use a single pet as the tank, usually level 60 or higher.
Not a perfect template, but I have fun and can solo level 82 nests if I take my time and work it.

i'm novice CM on my MCH so i haven't had to use pet stims. i wonder if ruby bliel would reset the timer in that situation, so you heal yourself, drink a ruby, and then can heal the pets again over and over, or you'd still have the usual 30-second wait as if you're stimming yourself.
