Thread: Need some advice...
Hi all.
I recently mastered ranger, and want to keep it (don't ask why!). While I was mastering Igained about a 3rd of the CH tree and a 3rd of the pistoleer tree.
I now want to give up CH and pistoleer and train to be a fencer. I have enough skill points to master fencer but not brawler too. So I have a few questions...
1) Will I be severely weakened not having master brawler?
2) I am Zabrakian and my HAM isn't great for fencer I guess. What do you guys have your HAMs set at?
I was thinking about pumping nearly all my points into mind and letting doc buffs take care of the rest. Is this a good idea?
3)I had some ubese from a while back that is average about 30-35% kinetic, is this really bad? I never really needed armour before so I don't know much about it. It also gives about 270 encumbrance on most stats I think and I can't get the helmet on without a mind buff currently. Seems like good armour is like gold dust on my server (Chimaera), as are master armoursmiths.
Thinks that's it for now, I'm almost at 1 handed 4 so I'm not even a fencer yet but answers to these questions would really help me out.

Intimidation and Warcry is slightly improved. The main reason a Fencer gets MB is because it has a knockdown, which Fencer does not have. If you can live without KD, you will be fine without it.

No idea. But I am in the process of trying your idea - waiting for the migration to finish.

Yeah, thats junk. Good ubese (always ask for ADV Ubese, its better than standard) should at LEAST be 63%-65% Kinetic, if not better. If you want light, high kinetic armor, and ONLY kinetic armor, specificly ask a master Armorsmith to pour all his/her experience points into special protection and encumberance (ubese has kinetic as special protection). That should give you some good kinetic armor. Keep the helmet off if you have low mind though.

and I am not sure where I want to go... down to like 11 skill points left... I am not into the FS grind at all... never used a holo and could frankly care less about being a Jedi at present... I know for sure I want to keep Master Smuggler but I am open to ideas for the rest... I know that I would like to be able to PvP a little better than I can now... I guess my question is... should I drop Medic and go for TKM??? Or should I just keep Medic and maybe drop a few skill boxes in it to get Master Pistoleer...
Only problem I worry about with dropping Medic is not being able to heal...
So... thoughts??? Ideas??? Any advice is most helpful...
Well im a triple master and having a blast. I dont miss the medic skills at all.
The thing is what do you want to do? If its combat your into then the triple master combo is great the Smuggler commando combo is good. Or even TKA smuggler with medic or what ever else you want.
Its hard to answer questions like this becuase so much of it is based on what you the player like to do.

Well... I have been thinking about going the same route you did mainly because I am more combat... and I wanna be able to own some in PvP... heh...
So what kinda combo do you use to pretty much PvP??? Do you set up macros???
I dont like using macros becuase you never know if a a special is going to stick or not. What I like to do is mix it up. If Im fighting a ranged opponent ill start off with lowblow to slow them down then run up close and finish them off with melee since they usually only have ranged mitigation. Against meleers i go the other way and use the pistol becuase they usuallyhave melee mitigation.
Since i have both I dont worry about their attack of choice. My big worry is running out of mind So i make sure to buff it as much as possible before the fight starts without using my spices or foods. I save those for when my mind is showing white more like a insta heal rather then a buff.
Good armor and good doc buffs are the real difference between a good PvPer and someone just having fun. With doc and entertainer buffs Armor encumbrance is a non issue. The big worry is flame 2 and mind poison. I can handle the flame better then the mind poison but if your hit with either its a race to see if you can kill them before there DOT gets you. As a TKA i dont have to worry about wounds or poisons once the battles over but if I cant finish them before the DOTs do there job im out for the count.

hmm... interesting...
So you would say TKM is worth it then??? Dropping Medic for???
I thinks so. TKA has meditation so wounds, poison, and disease are not a major issue. The thing is if you want to go with out medic you need to get doc buffs as often as possible. I can hunt well without them by using a mix of powerup spices and foods but Doc buffs make you a blender of death.

Hmm... sounds good... I am gonna master pistoleer first as I am closer to that... then go for TKA
