Quit whining. Xp loss is every bounty hunter's goal. It's the nature of the profession.

Thanks for setting me straight on that one.
It's thrill of the hunt for me, but if I can slow down one Jedi's progress, then I'm happy about it.

Time line? You are comparing this game to the Star Wars time line, in which there are only five Jedi. if everyone can have a Jedi in this Game, can't Order 66 still be in effect?

All I can say to that is...Waaahhh
Its the price a Jedi pays for being able to weild the fantastic powers they do. Its risk vs reward, the very bedrock of any MMO.
No such thing as a free lunch, so if somones gaming experience is 'ruined' by dying at the hand of a BH, then I say they had unrealistic expectations and need to adjust them pronto or they will continue to have their gaming experience ruined.

I know this is probably going to viewed as a stupid question, but: Why? Why do some players of BH characters view this "slowing another player's progress" as a goal? I don't get it.From the SW theme, timeline and all that, I understand why the BH profession exists in SWG. And of course playing a Jedi character should come with risk (and a hell of a lot more risk than currently exists, if you ask me). But why is it a goal for some people to spoil another human being's play time? Doing it because that's what the "content" is for players of BH characters, and doing it because that's one aspect of role-playing in SWG, is one thing. I accept that. But to actively seek to make someone else unhappy just to get some jollies? That's what I don't get. I don't understand the mentality of people whose idea of having fun is ruining someone else's fun (per se, not for any rp aspect or that sort of thing, as I said).I don't mean to include you in that, or the BH profession as a whole. That's why I'm asking: in hopes that one of you could enlighten me.
No offense, but you wouldn't understand unless you have played one.
Ever since the Bounty Hunter profession was "bestowed" with the task of "controlling" the Jedi population, that has been our goal. Granted it really hasn't worked....ever, but if we can slow down their progress and get them to give up on achieving Jedi, then that is one less that we have to worry about. If they get mad about it, then the Jedi profession is not for them. We, at least most of us, don't get our "jollies" from it as it is just a job that we have been assigned.
Currently, as in after Publish 20, there will be a very minimal risk to Jedi, even Padawans, but now, Bounty Hunter's can no longer choose who they hunt and they will end up killing the mark that they get, even if it is a friend or part of a guild alliance. We can no longer hunt the one's that deserve it, nor can we choose not to take a guild mates mission. That is assuming, of course, that the Bounty Hunter decides to stick with hunting Jedi after Publish 20.

No offense taken.
I realize that most BH players aren't in it for the jollies of hurting other players (as I thought I made clear). It's your job to hunt us Jedi into extinction. I can deal with that (however much I may dislike it
).
And I can see your point, too, regarding not knowing eitherthe level of the Jedi mark you've taken or the name of that mark at an early stage of the hunt so as not to waste time hunting friends, guildies, etc. Upon first reading of the change notes I was tickled (being the occasionally vindictive b!tch I am
), but as I started reading posts on this forum, I realized how really hard it's going to make it for BH's, and that does not please me in the least because all it means is that Jedi will end up getting nerfed again to compensate.
What I don't understand are those minority of BH players that do want to hurt the play-time of a Jedi character player for sole reason of making that other person unhappy (i.e., not because it's their job).

This time line is far past the time where the Republic was converted. Power was never restored. THE REPUBLIC IS DEAD. now if you say all jedi are enimies of the republic, you are out of date and going buy a movie that is in a 20 year past timeline.Peope try to RP swg and have that posted in their BIO "All Jedi are enimies of the republic, Order 66 exicuted", But the truth is, The current bounties and laws are issued under Imperial command. Ordered by the emperor and enforced by the Empire.Saying the Empire is the republic is like saying video games are for kids, Its just not true anymore.Repectfully yours.
Palpetine took over the republic, executed order 66, then turned the republic into the empire. Game, set, match.

i got no problem with xp loss i simply have a problem with people who become bhs just because they want to make another player loss xp, i got no prob if they become bh cause they like pvp or like hunting cause that's why i went bh. jus seems like an immature thing to do (know i'm gonna get flamed for sayin that)
