Thread: Publish 20: Jedi Tracking Test Results (2 hour sample)
I was thinking about jedi's in cities the other night.
I think if a jedi is een using his powers, Then alike to a player event etc, a warning to all imperial players should flash up that a jedi has been spotted and a lock down is in progress. And the jedi should have an attackable status that all imperials can attack weither those imperials are overt or not.
You should see shuttles arrive spawning troopers (that arent just crap) etc. The more jedi spotted in the city or town, the more imperial forces appear.
Imagine now and again even two ATAT's being dropped in, over the top but my god it would be good to see.
at th end of the day it would probably be satisfying for both jedi and no jedi.
because I bet the rock hard jedis would love to try and live the instance out taking everything on in it's path,
Lady Maura of Naboo
Master Padawan Hunter / Holo-images of Jedi I Valiantly Defeated
Motto: Morator Criatus Neusoris (Translation: Cry more newb.)
... has caused 103 Jedi to lose 41,014,000 Jedi XP (Since the Combat Upgrade)
Enjoyed the Sig, motto and holo-images.
Nice post too, some good arguments, some bad. Am dissapointed in BH's that just zoom up and demand a fight, I mean come on at least do some stalking and/or stealth tactics(just suggestion), put some actual game in it or something cause it gets boring, the "Fight me or pay me off". Keep in mind this is just my opinion/experience and in no way applies to all BH's. I guess it boils down to a rping point of view, I respect a BH more for their rping/honor in a hunt than anything else. It is more enjoyable (for me) to play and be hunted by BH's that are more(maybe not totally, but more)about the hunt then just the payout. I wont bore you with an example of a well respected BH, but they are out there and rare nowadays, anyways thanks for the time in reading this and keep up the hunting.
if it was around 100k each for noob jedi then it's probably now on par with other combat profession's ability to earn credits instead of being the effortless cash cow it was before.

Guys do you all know whats happening? I belive i DO i think its a bug the DEV's over looked remeber before publidh 20 if your target went AFK? your probot would tell you target is not online. i saw a bunch of jedi running around yesterday with AFK abover their head but they were running around. the jedi have all figured this out and are exploiting this bug to thier fullest. i got lots of missions yesterday and a ton were comming up not online but i have seen like 15 to 20 jedi dueling in theed there is no way that many jedi are offline.

21:18 Target force cloaked and unattackable. Dropped mission.
kinda funny this was my mission i was cloaked lomg before she cam into down testing something
when i saw she was in town i walked less than 10m from her an uncloaked only for her to leave my town ... hmmm ... wonder why she left out that part
Perhaps she had already dropped the mission before you uncloaked? Even if she did still retain the mission and commenced to kicking your butt what would you have done when you saw that you were losing? You would have Force Cloaked and ran off then she would've wasted even MORE time as well as suffered armor/weapon decay for nothing.
Let me see if I translate this correctly:
2 hours of "hunting" effort nabbed two kills, and what, about 400k credits, right? Solo, without needing a group to survive? Can you name another profession that can earn that kind of cash with that little of effort? I'm a pistoleer, and I need a group of 4 to take down a lair in about 20 minutes to net about 10k. In two hours I might clear 1/4 this person made. What's broken again?
You lost your gank squads.
You can't grief anymore
You actually have to do some effort to find your mark.
You actually have to be a MBH to get the gravy
forgive me for not having sympathy....let's look at the other side
Your pretender respec BH's are going to quit, leaving you more marks.
The jedis can't avoid the terms anymore, and those guys who managed to avoid itstink at PVP because they've never really done it.
You can pick the faction you want to hunt
you still earn more than any other profesion by a wide margin, with much less effort, even with the bugs
My guess is that when the offline thing is fixed, you'll be earning yourusual million credit per hour rate

You know... I was thinking exactly the same thing.
Classic proof of the warnings I gave during beta to anyone who would read or listen.
The problem is simple: if you add Jedi to the terminals when they log on, but you do not remove them from terminals when they log off, you don't need a rocket scientist to tell you that eventually (12, 24, 36, 48 hours after the server has been reset)the number of missions for offline Jedi will totally swamp the comparatively small number of missions for online Jedi.
The fix is equally, even stupidly, simple: when Jedi log off, and the system is saving their status etc., call a subroutine to remove their mission from the terminals.
