I was thinking about jedi's in cities the other night.

I think if a jedi is een using his powers, Then alike to a player event etc, a warning to all imperial players should flash up that a jedi has been spotted and a lock down is in progress. And the jedi should have an attackable status that all imperials can attack weither those imperials are overt or not.

You should see shuttles arrive spawning troopers (that arent just crap) etc. The more jedi spotted in the city or town, the more imperial forces appear.

Imagine now and again even two ATAT's being dropped in, over the top but my god it would be good to see.

at th end of the day it would probably be satisfying for both jedi and no jedi.

because I bet the rock hard jedis would love to try and live the instance out taking everything on in it's path,

Atually thinking of it, i think random wildlife should attack town and cities more two!!!

**alert ancient krayt dragon has been seen on the outskirts of bestine**

or

**alert giant gaping spider uber duber queen is attacking dathomir imperial outpost**

things need to be spiced up alil round ere.

Lady Maura of Naboo
Master Padawan Hunter / Holo-images of Jedi I Valiantly Defeated
Motto: Morator Criatus Neusoris (Translation: Cry more newb.)

Enjoyed the Sig, motto and holo-images.

Nice post too, some good arguments, some bad. Am dissapointed in BH's that just zoom up and demand a fight, I mean come on at least do some stalking and/or stealth tactics(just suggestion), put some actual game in it or something cause it gets boring, the "Fight me or pay me off". Keep in mind this is just my opinion/experience and in no way applies to all BH's. I guess it boils down to a rping point of view, I respect a BH more for their rping/honor in a hunt than anything else. It is more enjoyable (for me) to play and be hunted by BH's that are more(maybe not totally, but more)about the hunt then just the payout. I wont bore you with an example of a well respected BH, but they are out there and rare nowadays, anyways thanks for the time in reading this and keep up the hunting.

so what were the payouts for the two completed bounties??

if it was around 100k each for noob jedi then it's probably now on par with other combat profession's ability to earn credits instead of being the effortless cash cow it was before.

One of the main reasons it was an "effortless cash cow", is because of the jedi that complain the most. Jedi who AFK'd the Warren Pre-CU or the trails post-cu deserve what they got. Call me a griefer if you will, bottom feeder, I don't care. Jedi who AFK do ruin the hunt/fight for the BH. Heck, I know I had around 50 kills in the Warren from AFK jedi...heck, I know I killed the same guy around 7 times. Most got the point after they got killed 4-5 times a day, others didn't.

So if you want to blame anyone for BH being an effortless cash cow, blame the Jedi who AFK in high vis areas. Heck, even if they don't AFK in those areas, blame them anyways. As a low lvl jedi, you shouldn't begrinding in an arealike that, even if it is the best XP you can get in the shortest amount of time. Jedi is supposed to take awhile to get because of the reward you get for being Jedi. Yes, it may not be what it used to be, but heck, getting a free second toon still is on hell of a reward if you ask me. I'd love a second toon, just can't justifiy spending the money on one. And I don't want a Jedi either.

Im sorry but if you are killed at anytime grinding at a POI, Cave, dungeon, where high vis happens, you deserve every xp loss you get.

Ok, sorry for the rant, still getting over the Jedi who /reported me for killing me while he was grindinga POIATK. Not my fault he was low lvl with the new system.

kinda funny this was my mission i was cloaked lomg before she cam into down testing something

when i saw she was in town i walked less than 10m from her an uncloaked only for her to leave my town ... hmmm ... wonder why she left out that part

Perhaps she had already dropped the mission before you uncloaked? Even if she did still retain the mission and commenced to kicking your butt what would you have done when you saw that you were losing? You would have Force Cloaked and ran off then she would've wasted even MORE time as well as suffered armor/weapon decay for nothing.

Two points from a guy who has a kick-a$$ BH toon and a frightened Jedi Padawan toon.

1. No one Bounty Hunts for XP. That's pointless. I don't accept that argument at all when it comes to the amount of time it takes to hunt. BH's hunt for money and glory. It shouldn't take 5 minutes to find a Jedi. It takes 5 minutes to find a 30K NPC. Pretty hefty reward for an easy day's work (although the fixed CL helps!).

2. What's wrong with making it a little more difficult to hunt Jedi? Let's see what kind of skill we really have. Let's start to go after all the Jedi and not just the low level Jedi. With Publish 20, I saw a mass exodus of Jedi from Kashyyyk to other planets. The game is on. Let's see who wins!

(FYI: My frightened Jedi got hunted last night. Although I incapped the BH first, the DB didn't take (not sure why) and the MCM/MBH managed to get me down and DB first.)

I thought part of the Pub 20 was to make it EASIER for BHs to pass over Jedi missions belonging to Jedi who are NOT ONLINE, sparing them the headache.

At least pre-Pub 20 we didnt have to waste Akryds to find out if a guy is online or not. Given how often the "Offilne" is coming up, I simply cannot belive that many Jedi are just spontaneaously logging off from the time their mission is picked up. Its gotta be a bug.

unless of course SOE pooched BH even more and the terminal sends an email to the Jedi with the name, time , waypoint and template of the BH who picked up the mission.

Didnt this get noticed at all on TC before the publish went live?

Let me see if I translate this correctly:

2 hours of "hunting" effort nabbed two kills, and what, about 400k credits, right? Solo, without needing a group to survive? Can you name another profession that can earn that kind of cash with that little of effort? I'm a pistoleer, and I need a group of 4 to take down a lair in about 20 minutes to net about 10k. In two hours I might clear 1/4 this person made. What's broken again?

You lost your gank squads.

You can't grief anymore

You actually have to do some effort to find your mark.

You actually have to be a MBH to get the gravy

forgive me for not having sympathy....let's look at the other side

Your pretender respec BH's are going to quit, leaving you more marks.

The jedis can't avoid the terms anymore, and those guys who managed to avoid itstink at PVP because they've never really done it.

You can pick the faction you want to hunt

you still earn more than any other profesion by a wide margin, with much less effort, even with the bugs

My guess is that when the offline thing is fixed, you'll be earning yourusual million credit per hour rate

Classic proof of the warnings I gave during beta to anyone who would read or listen.

The problem is simple: if you add Jedi to the terminals when they log on, but you do not remove them from terminals when they log off, you don't need a rocket scientist to tell you that eventually (12, 24, 36, 48 hours after the server has been reset)the number of missions for offline Jedi will totally swamp the comparatively small number of missions for online Jedi.

The fix is equally, even stupidly, simple: when Jedi log off, and the system is saving their status etc., call a subroutine to remove their mission from the terminals.
