That would def be too easy. A better way would be after 50 or so Jedi kills you are visited by Boba Fett who gives you ONE piece of Mando armor(your selection). That way by the time you get a full suit it would represent 500 Jedi kills. The problem with this is finding a way to keep it from being exploited by Jedi and BHs who are friends.
The whole part about getting other skills though is not a good idea. We dont want to unbalance BH compared to the game's other proffs or we'll just wind up getting nerfed. We shouldnt get any skills outside of the ones in our proff unless a means is created for other combat proffs to be able to do the same thing.
I do fully support a way to be able to get Mando on your OWN though. You shouldnt have to rely on other people to do it like you currently do, especialy since BHs are considered to be "loners" in general. But however they do it, it def shouldnt be easy, exploitable, or quickly obtainable. I think something like 1 piece for 50 Jedi kills would be fair.
PS: He should NOT give you a piece of armor, that would be a huge mistake. He should give you a SCHEM so you can get it crafted to your liking.

I've been sitting here lately thinking about the BH profession and what it would take to make it a little more interesting for us all. The new NPC missions is really great for us in many ways and it is one of the steps that will move us towards a greater more enjoyable playing experience. However one thing that seems to bother most of the older BH veterans is that you have to be grouped with the one profession you hate to get Mando Armor.
So I propose a solution. This may have been covered before but I thought that it would be very enjoyable to see happen. The Jedi, when becoming force sensitive get the old man, and there in lies the beginning of their journey and the solution to our dilema.
How about this:
Once a player becomes a Master Bounty Hunter, he will be able to hunt Player Jedi. (this is already done)
However, when the Master Bounty Hunter gets a kill, he receives a token or flag in his Quest Journal. After 20 kills the Master Bounty Hunter gets a visit from Boba Fett who in turns gives the BH a Bounty Hunter Backpack (Jetpack minus the flying ability) and a full suit of Mando Armor. From here, the BH can visit Boba Fett somewhere and trade in XP for numerous items or skills.
Some of the items would be like the following:
1. a component to turn the Backpack given by Boba into a flying model. (note: Backpack and Mando Armor are non decay like Jedi Robes)
2. a stealth shield that would make the BH cloakable just like the Jedi, however to give the Jedi a little warning, the BH would shimmer like the glass snakes do (ala the Predator movie)
3. a powerful rifle or novice flamethrower.
4. innate abilities or skills.
Major Note - All Items given to the player would be non tradeable and unusable by any other profession.
I just wanted to put this out there and get some of your thoughts on this. The ultimate goal would be to become just as stronger as a full template jedi. However getting to that goal would take just as long as it would for a Jedi to go from Padawan to Knight.
So what do you think?
/agree Not bad, but I think 20 might be too small a number, perhaps 30-40 or even 50? Mando armor is supposed to be so rare that Boba Fett posses the only known sets. Then the DWB was introduced and messed all that up. I think it's funny that you will kill like 100 DWB guys that are wearing mando, but you can't loot it off their dead corpse.
Might be cool if Boba Fett comes to visit you and gives you some kind of broken piece like the above mentioned, but then you would still have to go to the DWB and loot pieces from the dudes (on a mission series from Mr. Fett) to get it "fixed" by an armorsmith.
What I find really irritating is that while it's nice that we have new missions that pull boss marks down... the loot that can be sold for the most are the Jedi SEAs. Isn't that kinda ironic? We make a cool 5-10mil off a sweet SEA but sell it to a Jedi on our server, that will make them TOUGHER to kill? That's lunacy to me.
honestly, i'd have to say ATLEAST 400 kills, because it's suposed to be EXTREEMLY rare
So were jedi. That "rare" argument is null and void. There were exactly the same amount of suits of mando armor as there were Jedi in ESB and ROTJ. 1 to 1. (Luke was NOT a Jedi until the End, was a pady newb). So I'm sick of hearing the rare bullcrap. It should be no harder for a MBH, MRanger, MSL, or MCommando to get mandalorian than it is for any toon to become a Jedi. And let's face it, it's freaking retardedly easy to become a full templated jedi now.
This ideais looking good.
1 Scem / 50 kills seems about right, maybe not boba (see above why) but a BH guild member/hell DWB recruiter?!, helmet last i think...
Bio-linked...
inbuilt CA's (of choice) that a full set = 6x+25 on all relevant (RangedAcc,RDef,RSpd+same in chosen Weapon) ? So each armour piece has a +3 bar the helmet that has +4's
Looking cool, SEA'd to the max, Jetpacked (and Cloaked?) - Wow. Stuff Jedi thats what i'd say...

Well, I would rather see him give you a broken piece of mando armor, and by killing or doing certain quests, you gain the ability to repair it.
Agreed. This would make it a BIT more sensible.
Even if we raised the stakes up to 50 or 75 would be cool, but seeing how easy it is to get force sensitive, I was trying to keep getting "Mando Sensitive" about as easy.
I will work on a better, more descriptive Bounty Hunter Extension Revamp tomorrow.
But I like the idea of possibly getting damaged Mando (or something similar) to do quest to get it repaired. The bad thing about having to go into the DWB is that you usually have to have a few Jedi with you to get to where you need to be to craft Mando.
However, maybe we could have a BH Guild like the village to wear we can do missions to get Quest items to use on the Mando (or similar) armor to repair it.
I don't like having to add crafters into the mix because that does two things. 1. it adds the use of someone that is not BH sensitive. 2. it would cause more coding that the Devs would have to do which in turn could make it take longer to come out.
I will look into it a little more and post an update to the original post.
But keep some more ideas coming so that I can add them to the list and let's see if we can get something done with our profession.
- You dont need Jedi to be succesfull in the DWB. But you need melee.
- After 20 kills you get a full suit and a backpack? Wow... talking about rare. I guess you would have every BH with it after 1 week. (You could bribe the full-temps to lose if you are not experienced in PvP)
- Mando-armor is supposed to be rare, rare, super rare...
If you dont want to group with jedi, fine. I understand that. You dont seem to like them. But what is wrong with melee? Get some of those and do DWB-Runs.
But you will need hundreds of those runs (jedi or not) to loot your stuff for mando.
btw: Where do you fill in SL and Ranger (and IIRC Commando) in your new way to get Mando? Skinxx Bols for a visit? Leadxx groups? Burnxx NPC?

not bad at all.
I really love that stealth field generator idea, reminds me of Kotor ![]()
