Thread: Why some changes to cloak should be made, but not nerfed...

I would gladly exchange a 4 hour cloak ability for 4 minutes, IF the /emote to target and /follow bugs were fixed. Cloaked people, period, should not be able to be targeted. If this was working properly and had a vastly reduced timer, the Jedi still would have been able to escape. So the end result is the same. 4 minute cloak with no target/follow ability = escape.

That is too logical for some to grasp.

In my opinion there are a few ways to look at Jedi Cloak.

1: In a BH/Jedi conflict, a Jedi can use Cloak to escape, or to take a break from battle, and/or further prepare for battle. In either case, the BH has the option to either drop the mission and take another, or run away himself, and attempt tostrike at another time. Wich can be argued as balanced. Since neither would win or lose, it could be considered equal.

2: Jedi Cloak is a very powerfull escape tool. Having such a powerfull escape tool at the Jedi disposal may not be an "I Win Button", but it is definately "I Wont Lose" button. Atleast most of the time. Having such a powerfull escape tool severely limits the risk involved when gaining Visibility, and goes against the game mechanics concerning the risk involved in gaining Visibility. Atleast in my personal opinion.

3: Cloak goes beyond the Jedi/BH conflict and spills over into other aspects of PvP, such as the GCW. Where a Cloaked Jedi (or Jedi in numbers), can easily get within Melee striking distance, without ever being detected despite the presence of other Players, NPC's, or Critters, creating an unparalleled First Strike advantage that is un-matched by any other Professions stealth ability.

So in closing, I do feel that Cloak is unbalanced, and over powered. Every other profession has a power or ability that can match or counter Jedi skills/abilities. Even though Normal profession can not combine them all into one template that could be worthy of battle, like Jedi can. The abilities and options are still there. Except Cloak. No other normal professions abilities can compare to the Jedi ability to Cloak, and become so untouchable.

Cloak= 'I win button'

Anyone who thinks that cloak is balanced needs to have their head examined...

Hmm... "Winning by not losing"... Paradox? Oxymoron? Dichotomy? Or just nonsensical?

Oh and I do find it especially delicious that we are discussing a Jedi skill, and it's proposed usefullness, on a Bounty Hunter board and expecting to get an OBJECTIVE response?
