What he said. If the exploision hits mind you have a guaranteed incap. THose are R2 droids or Probe droids.

Hmm from my testing it seems that bomb droids are about 18m range.

I'll clear up a few things for you as I have been using bomb droids quite a while. First, anything less than power 52 is a waste of money .. you just won't cause enough damage (the exception to this is if you are a melee bh and can actually hit the jedi). Second, the cost will vary depending on the DE.. most crates of power 38's run about 45000 and a crate of power 52's can run up to 200-300k. Third, once you send in the droid and it hits the jedi he WILL get a tef on you and so will his buddies he's grouped with .. so just be carefull when you send it in. Like it was said above, it would be best to wait till the jedi is attacking a creature so he won't even see it coming in. To use the droid do the following:

Call the droid before the fight and teach him two commands .. group .. and follow target (use words that won't seem suspicious like stated above).

Group with the droid (you'll understand why in a minute).

Tab target the jedi.

When time is right use the follow target command you made.

Quickly hit Cntrl 2 as this will switch your target from the jedi to the droid (the droid must be targeted to execute the explosion .. and if he's not grouped with you then you have to manually click the droid while it is running toward the jedi which is not very easy to do.

Once the droid gets near the jedi then type /detonatedroid .. best to macro this command.

The droid will begin a countdown from 3. The numbers will float above the droid as it counts down put will not appear in the spatial chat (this is why you want to wait till the jedi is distracted).

Boom. The damage will hit a random pool and the fight is on. Hope this helps.

My mouse droids are of 39 power and my R2 droids are 57. You can count the damage accordongly knowing thst my mouse droids do around 1700 damage.

well yea, acctualy, even if the jedi is doc buffed, Ive noticed that on my server most jedi dont get mind buffs ( mainly becuase the only places to do it are buffbots in largly crowded cities i would guess ) so even with doc buffs, an advanced R3 will incap them more often then not if they ahve an unbuffed mind.

can someone tell me how to give my mse droid an actual name?

thething is, im trying to set up a macro to target the droid, and then detonate it after,so i dont have to actually click on it and then detonate while trying to concentrate on fighting a jedi.....

/target pet dosnt work, however /target (insert name here) does for other things

anyone know a way around this? a good bomb droid macro, or how to name my mse's?

Train the droid in various commands, and allways type the name first..

F.ex. Train follow -> Bomby follow

Do this 3-4 times, and he will become named Bomby

Then retrain him again without the name.

To name any droid, you need to call it out, then bring up the menu where you program the commands(Store, Group, etc.). Then select one of these, say, the store command. The droid then should have a question mark over it's head, you then put: (nameofdroid) Store. It will then have an exclamation mark over it's head, telling you that it understands it's new command. Repeat this three more times, with three different commands. If the name filter will allow it, the name of your droid should change to whatever you put in (nameofdroid). You can then change the commands back to whatever you want.

For a macro, I create one called follow, it goes like this:

(name)/macro follow

/target (mark'sname)
/say follow;
/target (nameofdroid)

I then detonate it by hand, though there is a command for detonation, I don't know what it is.

Hope that helps.

Just FYI the detonation command is /detonate or /det

However, those were the commands pre-curb, and I've not yet tested any bomb droids post-curb since I hear they're bugged and the few I have are far too weak to be useful for anything but kreetles.
