It would be easier to nerf a 1.5 template than to bring everyone else up to par

hell...once they get all proffessions where they should be...im sure they will all be equal!

Simple. Put all FS characters on the terminals (including FS BH's of course). The moment you get the first visit from the old man, you become huntable.
This would have several advantages:
- It would really slow down the growth of the jedi population.
- It would reduce the tension between the Jedi and BH communities.
- It would give BH's more of a challenge (more CL80's, less low-level Paddawans).
- Last but not least, it would give jedi-hunting BH's who grind FS at the same time a taste of their own medicine. I mean, don't you want to know how it feels to be sneaked upon when you're at 1/2 health?
How do you like that? I'm serious about that btw.

Concerning the two points I highlighted:

The BH profession is not meant for Jedi population control. Although some BHs like to believe this, preventing another player from advancement in game is not the purpose of BH. BH is for people who enjoy stalking other players and doing sneaky attacks, and Jedi needed some form of punishment for showing off in public, so SOE decided BH would be able to hunt down Jedi using Force powers in public too often. Way too many BHs use "population control" as an excuse for griefing lower-level players.

To the second highlighted statement: BHs already have that choice. If a BH clicks refresh when he only sees 200k+ marks on the current page, it is his fault. BHs choose not to have a challenge they could have, in no way is the challenge missing.

So overall, I dont like it alone for the reasons outlined above. Now factor in that there are CL 1 crafters getting the FS crafting mastery trees and its definitely a no-go.

I have to disagree... As the devs have intended our profession, we are jedi hunters... that is what we do... why? That is the way the devs intended to be. If that wasnt the case, then they would have had player bounties, not jedi. If they wanted to keep in line of the SW universe, the Jedi would have been able to hunt BH's for carrying out bounties on other players. For example, a smuggler takes a mission from Jabba, fails it, gets hunted and killed... the Jedi then receive a mission to take out the BH.

Population control is not an excuse. You, even as a jedi, have to agree that there are way too many jedi. It is also too easy, even though it does take longer, to get Jedi. I remember when i first started playing this game. Jedi was a myth. It was very hard to get and there was only about 5% of the population that was Jedi. Now a doctor, ranger, or a bio-engineer is more a myth and jedi are more than half of a server's population.... might as well even say 90% of the server's population is force sensitive.

If they took a census on professions, I believe my statements would be correct. Although I am not complaining about the increased population of Jedi, I do believe that each profession has a counter to it. Jedi's counter is the BH, Just as a Fencer's is Pistoleer, Rifleman is Swordsman, etc.

This is also a never ending arguement. Jedi want this game to be Jedi Galaxies, BH's want the "I Win" button over Jedi, and all the other professions want love. What the devs biggest problem is that they have focused on Jedi/BH so much, that no one is interested in any other professions and most of the other professions are now useless. Doc had a purpose, not anymore. Ranger had a purpose... nope, that was gone when we could pull mounts out anywhere.

You want the real solution to Jedi? I say make it harder to become force sensitive, like in the old days, or make the jedi pay $30 or $45 a month to be one... like Premium Charge. /shrug

Jedi needed a punishment for showing off their powers in public. That is why the visibility system got introduced along with an xp penalty on BH death. BH is not meant to slow down Jedi population growth as the original poster stated, BHs are meant to punish the Jedi that identify themselves as Jedi. This is a huge difference: Slowing the progress of all players that have a certain profession versus punishing those that play said profession in a wrong way.
You dont honestly believe that there should be a class in any game whose whole purpose is to take xp from others and prevent others from mastering their chosen profession, do you? If this had been the case, the devs would not have taken Jedi names off the terminals since they were used to circumvent the random generator for Jedi missions.
BHs existed before Jedi if I remember correctly, and NPC mission were the only missions BH had in the beginning. Instead of focussing on how to stop players from becoming Jedi BHs should view PC bounties as a bonus given to them, not the norm.

Wow that's a pretty good idea. Saber / Force TEF within ALL city limits... Perfect!

sounds like a cool plan to implement after they balance the Jedi class. Removing XP loss and easing the grind of course.

Removing XP loss and easing the grind of course, in addition to BH missions. Given that, I'll happily sign off on Templated Jedi being 1.0 as powerful as any other profession.
