Thread: Whats happening to our XP

I dont even see numbers for my exp now. It just says i recieved pistol exp, medical, exp, or combat exp, but no numbers






The purple floaty text above the kill is how much gets divided amongst the group so if you solo it with a carbine thats how much carbs XP you get the combat xp is the usual 10%


In the Combat spam it will just tell you what type you get. i.e. Carbine / Combat

The way that XP was being reported was bugged. It should have been fixed with the re-published Pub 22. From what I gather from some guildmates, the formula for group XP is:


soloXP/group# * 6.6 = individualXP


Not 100% sure on this change, but that's what we are seeing.

Hrm..but being a test server wouldn't be very good, because you can get hosed quickly by changed that never make it to live, so it might not be well populated. Oh, wait, I know...they could make copies of live servers and people could test out major changes ahead of time.

It's now split among group members, and is divided by the number of people in the group. So if theyres 8 people, you get 1/8 the xp. If it's 2 people, you get half. If you're alone you get full xp.

My best guess after settling back and thinking about it is that it's a bug. The fact that two different numbers are being reported in group exp leads me to believe it's bugged.

it's a bug.. it tells you something, but it doesn't deliver


you actually still get the normal xp... or else there is no way i could have ground from cl 44 to 60 in a few hours last night... the xp was rolling in mad... in a full group...

Yeah, a lot of BH's are happy that there will be less Jedi or temped jedi. But they fail to realize that to get to Master BH it's gonna take some poor Novice BH the same time it would take a pre-pub 22 Jedi to grind out a full temp. For any profession this is simply just ridiculous.

You can still use AoE attacks, you'll still kill em all.


I've posted this somewhere else already, but the idea of a 5k kill solo being worth 10k to a 2 man group was stupid to begin with, no wonder noobjedi were temping up so fast, just before it seemed to be damage related again wich was a step forward.


This new fix is the way it should have been all along. I remember over 15 months ago feelin a sense of pride gettin my skill boxes, now you have people whining that they cant get to an elite profession really quick? Post CU i mastered carbs and x431 pistols in a week with the previous stupid xp system. I say this is an exelent change. More in line with any other RPG. Where being in a group makes combat easier and hence you gain less XP.

How the hell can you say it's the same amount of time, since you can get the same amount of xp solo? Is there some magic attack that does 6000 damage to a 80 mob, so that I can kill it as fast as I would kill it in a group ofhighlevel players? It's gonna take longer to level up. Longer than pre pub 22, and even longer than pre-Cu. You say you want the grind to be long, so that you can get a sense of pride? Well you're gonna have a buttload of pride now.


Oh and you point out you can still area attack, so it's the same as it was pre-cu? Oh boy, let me go area attack a bol nest .... You have been incapacitated. Do you not remember how it was pre-cu?Players were god like. I could take7-8 *so and so looks like instant death*mobsat the same time. If I were to try that now I'd bein the cloner in 15 seconds. But you go ahead and area attack while grinding solo, then just let me know how great it's working.


The good thing about SWG was that it wasn't like any other MMORPGs. It wasn't a big deal to grinda (non-Jedi)character to their highest possible level, whether it be using all your skill points or, in the new system, getting level 80. They designed the game so that themain focus wasn't to endlessly level up your player, as it is in most MMO's. Now it's gonna be a big chore. I wish I didn't have to resort to a tired cliche, but I play a game to play a game, not to work. If you want to feel proud about your work don't lookto a computergame. Why don'tyou go tutor underprivleaged kids or something if you wannabeproud of your accomplishments.

I could take7-8 *so and so looks like instant death*mobsat the same time. - the con system was always borked, and i bet you couldnt have done that without a buff.


If I were to try that now I'd bein the cloner in 15 seconds. But you go ahead and area attack while grinding solo, then just let me know how great it's working. - It does, i routinely AoE Malocks on Dath, they are CL 75, i get XP by the bucket...head to the village trade for FS - (after that ranged speed dont you know...)

"A larger group experience bonus was implemented, to ensure that grouping is still optimal: although experience earned per kill is less, a group of players is still able to earn experience over time at a much faster rate than a solo player."


So it wont take longer, it wont be a big chore and my initialErrr nope... all the posts say solo is the same as before so it will take the same amout of time to do solo!remark was a rathersimplistic retortin response to the frankly ludicrous idea that it would take as long as ajedi ful temp!

Grinding out BH solo will take as long now as it did before Pub22


Grinding any other skill in a group will take muchless time than solo but more time that pre pub 22.
