Thread: Edge of map, in the water, mission incomplete
There is a trick to this that I found in the old day that still works. I helped a guy with a mark stuck in Kaadara just the other day and he was still able to do it. The mark usually spawns inside the guild hall next to the med center in Kaadara. If you stand outside the building directly across from the Imperial coordinator and move forward toward the guild hall, placing yourself in the recessed area of the wall you can fire into the building. Still works. Make sure to draw the mark out so you can loot.

There is an easy fix... a very easy one...
Look at the map (ctrl-v) if the mark is on the edge or in water launch a seeker...
If the seeker finds the mark and it is still in a 'bad' location wait until the seeker loses track and then launch another...
The mark will have moved and then the mission can be completed...
The key is not to get closer than 500m or the mark most likely will NOT move...
I have done this every time this situation arises and I have never had to cancel a mission.
QFE.
This is what I did to get the mark out of the water north of Kaadara .. just waited for him to come to me.
I went AFK and when I came back the mark was 90m from me ... stuck in a building!

I'm trying to be understanding, but I can honestly see no reason why this shouldn't be an easy fix.![]()
FWIW, it's not an easy fix because of the way multi-server technology works andthe way the system identifies a usable location in the world. Also, a code formula doesn't see water. It just sees a number. I understand that isn't much consolation thoughBlix has tightened up the system as much as possible to reduceas much of this as he could.
When I get these, I just chalk up to a smart mark losing his scent in the water.

Excellent thinking , if we could all come up with lame roleplaying excuses for bugs i'm sure the world would be a much better place.
Its actually not a bug. It is a limitation of the technology.

From a development standpoint, I'm sure that's the case. But, from the player's perspective, it sure seems that a technological limitation is causing a bug where marks spawn in water

And this is why I never take missions anymore that are on non-player city planets. I tried once again last night to to a mission on YavinIV and it was in an inaccessible place....I have had 100% success on missions on play-city based planets. It took me 15 minutes toget tothe mark on YavinIV only to discover that I can't attack it so I then had to spend 15 minutes flying back to get another mish. You can apply an RP reason or a technical reason, but in the end it results in a aggrivating\frustrating experience for the customer. I understand why it happens, but that doesnt really make it any less frustrating.
