Ok does this work.
If i befriend a brand new jedi, and kill him from a duel do i get 1500xp investigation?
Obviously if this does work it will only work with the new jedi's as no jedi would want to lose their skills they have learnt.
And if it does work then were lauughing
if not then i am back to the missions
Assuming you have Inv III, and a Jedi that will let you blow through his three allowed deaths. You can get 3000 BH XP a kill and 150K in credits. So if you have a good system setup you could blow through Inv IV in an hour or so. But, there's still no easy way for that first 16K of BH XP for Inv I - III.
Now who would do something like that :-)
The real beauty is, you can have him duel you standing next to the bh terminal, which puts him on it almost immediately and then you take the mission and pop him. rinse and repeat...
Not that I would contemplate doing something that dastardly.
Is it really worth me carrying on with the grind to 10k Investigation xp? I have just over 6000 points now so I can learn investigation 1&2 but I am itching to get going with some droids. Shall I grind on or is it so tough after I have to start flying to other planets that I'll wish I stuck to smuggling?
Also, does payment and xp for missions go up when learning the investigation branch or is it only from learning the weapons branches?
Thanks
Taking novice missions in Tyrena I managed a a few times to activate neutron pixie 100m from a mark, kill them, speeder back to Tyrena, search through for a close (under 2km) target, speeder to and kill it before pixie ran out. Which would make it less than 10 mins if things go favourably. BH 2+ missions on the other hand take me on average more than 30 mins, so overall I'm fairly sure the novice missions are best for time efficiency. Whilst the later missions are a bit more fun, the novelty can wear thin occasionally when you spend an age tracking a target that doesn't appear - so I'd bask in the easy missions for a while longer if I were you.
ANother factor is that atm Investigation 2+ missions are quite buggy whereas the novice ones seem to have had their bugs mostly ironed out.
Meh! Investigation is easy now.

Back in my day sonny, the most you could get was 100 or so xp per mission and they only paid 10k. Speeders? We didn't have no stinkin speeders! Mounts? What are they? We walked everywhere, up hill both ways of course!

I started playing back in July with the goal of becoming an MBH and opening my Jedi slot. Then when proffession grinding was announced as the way to open the slot I reluctantly gave up my hard earned and beloved 2-4-4-4 BH skills to pursue Holocrons and my Jedi slot. After 21 proffessions without unlocking, and with only crafting (and entertainer) professions left, I decided to go back to my favorite class and master it this time. I'll most likely stay a BH til the new system comes out.
Seriously, I got more xp yesterday and today doing missions then I did in my last month as a Bounty Hunter the first time. I came back with about 5.5k worth of Investigation xp and trained 1 and 2 after doing a few 0 missions. I'm almost halfway through Investigation 3 now. Luckily I know where all the terminals and contacts are so I make excellent use of my mission time. I can usually get at least four or five missions in on one set of buffs.
