Wouldn't it be a good idea to at least pretend that you are trying to make a non-selfish thought by presenting this to the jedi community rather than the BH, where the overriding mentality is " we should have a kill jedi button"?

Read your own sig. Says if its easy, take it. I take my 226k by using : -

/(elevendy!11!!11!!)

That was easy.

Good idea, but a hell of a nerf to any large scale PvP, not really fair at all on the people that have earned their jedi (not the ryatt nubs) and live for PvP. Its RP wise intelligent, game mechanics intelligent, but sadly commercially totally non-viable. Jedi just wouldnt stand for it, and imo, tho I'd personally love to see it, I wouldnt blame them. Death in PvP is WAAAAY too easy, being told you now cant play for two hours after being load ganked would be a bit of a bugger.

Nice idea, just not realistic.

great idea, would give Master Enhancers incentive to regain con, cause it'd be force wounds or reduced regen for an hr.

Dont know bout your server, but we have 4 hour long PvP fights every night on ours, 30 or so a side, at least half jedi. If half the pvpers on our server were told, on death (which happens to most of us 3-4 times a night, doesnt matter how good you are, some people are just too sneaky at random turret placing in the middle of a fight) that they couldnt play for 2 hours, then there would be uproar.

I said I like the idea, its good in a lot of ways, just totally impractical. It makes sense, but this is a game, that people pay for. Maybe in the new system, with no group Bhing, and no specific name picking (/sniff) if it only applied to a BH death, and not a PvP one, that would be good., cos it will be very, veryrare.

Depends on what does happen with the name thing tho for bh missions. If we do learn the name before getting to the mark then this system would be easy to abuse, if the terms list only online and which faction jedi you would have a very good chance of getting a jedi in a pvp groups mission, and once you know who it is, it would be easy for factional fighting bh to tell the pvpers who their mark is, get that mark incapped thru pvp, then allow the bh to db, thus taking that enemy out of the fight for the rest of the night. A rapid 5 man bh group constantly going through missions in this way could remove a lot of players from the nights play, and thats a little harsh on the jedi

/eathat self - unfair on the jedi? i said that?

P.S.

It wasnt gibberish, it was an ironic and sardonic comment on the guy's forum sig - it says take anything thats easy, then he whines about an easy I win button....

It's a good comprimise between the Jedi who want to fight the in the GCW, and those who want us removed from it. Is it not?

Jedi are an integral part of the GCW, that isnt going to go away, and thats from a long term vet pvper. Most of the serious oldschool pvpers are full temp jedi now. Despite many jedi cries of how underpowered they are, and whining bout nerfs they ARE still by far the most useful, versatile and powerful combat class for pvp, as they should be. They are limited sure, but so are we all.

Most proper pvp jedi put a lot of work in to get the char they now play, and I dont think removing them from the game for hours at a time is a good thing. Pre CU pvp was ruled by jedi and def stacker melee chars, now since the saber block nerf and turrets, ranged have a real serious role in pvp. Most fights I'm in now overt are half ranged/half jedi where the jedi just act as healers to the ranged for 90% of the fight till someone gets guts enough for a saber rush.

I think a jedi that wants to fight in the GCW should have just as much right as any other char. Jedi are not so overpowered as they were pre CU, and so I'm fine with them fighting. Its really good to hear jedi posting on this thread saying they would accept these penalties, and I salute you for your views. But picture this, you get iced out of the game for hours at a time 3-4 nights a week, soon you may change your mind.

I think its a great RP idea, but just way way way too unfair in real terms for people that pay money to play their character.

/salute to leatherneck for the thought, i just cant see it ever being realistic.

The Jedi will moan they cant get back to AFK grinding fast enough... I think anything to slow the jedi rate of advancement is already well out of the window of SOE offices. They will never patch anything that might hinder or slow their precious beloved playerbase's advancement towards Jedi now.

If only it did happen, it might prove SOE still has an interest in other players... *sigh*

If you look at it, it doesn't remove you from a nights play... You have an alt don't you. If your Jedi gets killed, log in your alt and rejoin the battle with the rest of the ranged... but oh no.... you won't be Mr. Uber.. Dang, keep forgetting that. I get tired of Jedi forgetting that they have an alt that can still participate in stuff...

Is it against Jedi code or something to use an alt for anything other than helping their Jedi?? Like to have fun or something???

Not ranting, I'm just saying......

EXACTLY! Jedi in PVP battles would be a resource to be used intelligently, either held in reserve for a solid defense, or spurred on for an important offensive.

Null argument. Since any meaningful advancement is in a group anyway, they could gimp along till they were at peak performance again.
