Hunting is still valuable, and could be carried over to the bh line where they could actually see the stats of their opponents in pvp. All of these could have some use and make BH very valuable, and make all the points they used very valuable. Instead, you're taking the easy route not trying to implement these and say, okay well we're just going to make it where you don't need these skills.... smart move. How long, about a year later you consider doing this?







Very nice and well written. I couldn't agree enough. If you developers only gave a purpose to those Scout trees then no one would ever have had a problem with them.

Your other issues are known, and in varying stages of development, but we want you to know that things are going to get better. Hopefully rapidly.


This change will be hitting Test Center tomorrow afternoon, and should be Live by Friday.

Here is a solution. Don't make Jedi the uber class. make them just like everyone else. Yes I understand that macro afk dancing and healing is hard, but this is a game and any game like this that has an uber class will die.


Thats not going to happen, so how about you bring the TEF back and Perma death. If they want to be uber let it have some drawbacks.

I think your idea stinks JustG. Don't try to appease everyone by simply avoiding the issue. FIX BH. Don't make it so we will be bh/ other proffs, because you are just avoiding that bh sucks. I like having master scout because I get to have ranger tracking from RANGER which needs MASTER SCOUT. Without ranger tracking, i don't find jedi because the droids are busted. Just fix the profession, i don't want this stupid idea of all these skillpoints. FIx the profession, not make it so we can be diff ones.

One last problem I have with this idea.


It seems this change is really only about Jedi, not Bounty Hunters. You just want more people hunting them down, the bounty hunter profession itself is just a sidebar to access that.


Maybe you should just remove the profession and put this investigation line in smuggler. At least then we can slice things and look for bounties. Or remove it totally and make something like the Jedi force skills. 0 points at novice and a investigation line down the side with the other areas blank.

Nooooo! I’d rather the prerequisite of Master Scout stay in for bh. Why? Because Every one will be BH as soon as scout’s out of the picture your looking at the next FOTM. Why can’t we just get more bang for our buck then making it easier to become bh? I mean high accuracy would solve a lot of problems. Now every one will master bh. …


Now playing Devils advocate. I can see this will give bh’s our much demanded “verity” and move characters away from the much lamented Cookie cuter effect we’ve all experienced. Also this can alow much needed combat boost for this profession allowing us to compete with jedi.


Solution; is higher requirements for investigation skill boxes, making the amount of xp required high enough to scare away dabblers and avoid FOTM. Keeping bh a hard profession to master and making its mastery a reward for those committed to it.

I believe it is a very, very serious mistake.

There are two things that must be considered together:

a) No TEF for Jedi

b) reduction of BH requirements


Point a) was the biggest mistake done with Publish 9. It made Jedi stop hiding. Wear robes and titles in open. Go camp caves, outdamage people, camp loot, BECOME WAY TO VISIBLE. They should be in hiding. They should be AFRAID to wear any signs of Jediness, as EVERYONE could just follow them, track them and just wait for TEF. Now they are flooding all Galaxies. Which is bad. Bad. BAD.

Without the other control factors over Jedi, the only one remaining control factor is BH. Who, as we all know, are fubar. But, as many reasonable BHs stated, they need improvements, not dabbling. Reducing requirements will only decrease the importance of BH as profession. Before patch we already saw BH Invest 3 only Riflemen, who were the real Jedi killers. Now we will see BH Inv3 CMs (hunting any jedi who doesnt have cure skills, or even all of them, as last TC patches changed force cures to only heal 2 levels of poison, and thats something ANY CM can OUTSTACK using Havla), BH Inv3 Rifleman/def stackers, BH Inv3 TKA/Fencer stackers, who as TC show are toughest opponents for Jedi.

This all will only further imbalance PvP, PvJ, and make Jedi find exploits and ways to avoid BH encounter.

Result:

A very, very, very bad case of completely mistaken approach to points a) and b).

You all still don't get it. This is not a fix its the begining of the what is going to be a very very painful ending. Being a MBH even after SP reduction still wont mean crap as all our specials will still be screwed, being an effective MBH revolves around sound tactical thinking and using all of our tools i,e pistols/carbs/LLC at the right time.


All that has happened or will happen with this foolish move is that BH will be turned into the equivalent of a 1 special spammer like TKA et. al.


We are not being fixed with this stupid idea we are actuall being told that the devs cant be assed to actually fix us properly.


In a direct response to the tiel of this thread "What can dev do right now", I'll tell you what they can do, they can all resign in disgrace and make way for a dev team that actually cares about the SWG genre and the continuity and not a set od devs hell bent on making KOTOR online (TM), thats what you can do, go home and fel thoroughly ashamed of what you have reduced the most iconic profession in Star Wars to.


If i was Lucas i would be going to SOE and kicking 7 bales of the brown stuff out of the devs for screwing with the holy grail that is Star Wars and reducing it to nothing more than sham
