Pistols seem to be a favorite over carbines, Why ? because of speed\dmg over the carbines?

I like the template for

MBH,MPistols, 4000 Combat Medic or 0400

Nope not with the critcal shot and sniper shot along with the ranged cyber arm. I hit jedi 93m out before they can even engage me. Not to mention I run a fighters stance which limits the LS damage that they can do to me.

Took on a Def Jedi last night and really had no problem. Started out with KD right off the bat, threw my reduce action and then hit him with snare and kept my distance and just kept using my head shot, adv crit, KD, body shot and heals. Rinse and repeat. I had MBH / MP / CMed but the only prob with MP is in order to use your specials they have to be with in range. A good Jedi who gets in pistol range =s a dead BH.

What do you think about this templete? MBH/MSmuggler/Rifleman 4/0/0/0 ? wouldthis be a goot jedi hunting temp or is it useless?

That template looks pretty good because you can use last ditch from smuggler to nail a jedi right before he thinks you are dead. I have seen smuggler/BH take jedi out like that. Remember the key is to make them use all their force powers so they are drained!

Well, see like you said they tried to balance it but if you have FS Melee defense with MBH you can avoid alot of LS attacks, cause my stats are pretty high for ranged defense and melee def and this helps out alot vs the normal player that has MBH/MR and getting the cyber arm makes a greater difference also because you can tag them 93m out. My rule of thumb with MR you can tag a jedi from that far out and keep stating him and critical shooting he will use almost all of his force powers healing himself and 9 out of 10 times they will run because they don't know what type of MBH you are if you are dealing that kind of damage. It scares them because they have alot to lose in the way of XP.

Well like this one, but have only been doing it for a little while, so any input would be appreciated, from folks who might of tried it for longer.

My temp is MBH/Master Pistoleer and Carbines x44x with my extra 4 pts spent in the FS melee defense branch. I was a MBH/MP with Medic before the CU and decided to spend my extra points in Carbs for the defense and accuracy.

The best thing about this temp is that I get an aweseme root with Stopping Shot and a snare with Improved Cripple Shot as well as the increased General Ranged Accuracy with the Carbine Marksmanship branch.

I have primarily been using a Krayted Scatter, but recently found that an old laser rifle that had when I was a Novice Rifleman. It converted extremely well to a 1037 max dmg. I can deal a ton of damage with that and Adv Critical. I have yet to try it on amark since I've been tied up with the Sith in thePhase 4 village quest to get that melee defense unlock and enough FS XP to train, but I PvP'd some over the weekend and took out a number of rebel Jedi and BH's with it.

Well I am a week into the game and thinking about the future. I am currently Novice BH 0/1/1/1, Novice Carbineer 0/1/0/0, and Novice Combat Medic 0/0/0/0. Am I moving in a viable direction? Looking for something decent in PVE, but also decent in hunting Jedi. Not looking to be uber in one or the other, just sort of well rounded.

Cheers!

Been many months since I've played my MBH in SWG and have recently returned to check things out and see how things have changed in the months since I've been gone. I've spent a great deal of time readinghere on the forums and on the website of the past changes, additions, and CU...all which are very foreign to me.

As you might imagine, I'm pretty lost on templates right now and feels like a whole new game to me. States are different, mods are different, the whole 9 yards and BH doesn't even require half of what it used to in order to reach MBH. I'd been playing since game release and its all very confusing to me now.

So I was hoping I might get some help and advice from the current MBH's who have now become the 'grizzled vets'. Its those that are the veterans that not only come up with unique, successful, and often devastating strategies...but have actually 'tried' them and learned their strengths and weaknesses.

I've been reading through the template discussion stickied at the top, but I was hoping to tailor my template to my playstyle a bit more.

-Firstly, my template needs to include MBH. It used to be a very long and nasty grind to get to MBH and I'd rather not ever give that up. The rest of the template is open-season.

-I noticed alot of the templates above are geared for hunting Jedi. I'd never hunted a Jedi before and I'm not sure if thats what I'll end up doing or not. I'd rather aim my template more towards PVE but I don't want to 'rule out' Jedi Hunting completely. Who knows...maybe I'll give that a shot. If a good template for Jedi Hunting just happens to be great in PvP and great in PvE...then fabulous! However if the best templates for hunting Jedi are awful at PvE...then I'd rather have a broader template than one focused solely on Jedi Hunting. Most of the time I'd mostlikely bePvE.

-The PvP I used to when I played before was usuallyjust one-on-one duels. I engaged in PvP here and there, occassionally.

-I always play with my wife, who will be playing a doctor or combat medic. So I'll always have amedic along with me almost everywhere I go. We live in the same house and play in the same room, so if I'm fighting something...she'll always be there as well.

-My 'job' in PvE with my wife is usually the typical MMO role of a 'tank' and 'damage dealer' and she would be the typical MMO role of a 'healer' and 'buffer'.

The biggest problem I'm having now is that I'm a bit overwhelmed with changes, information, and choices. The whole idea of a MBH with skill points left over is a WAY new concept for me. It used to be that after MBH, you didn't have much in the way of skill points to play with. But now many new doors are opened.

The idea of taking melee skills, or mastering other professions is all new to me and I have NO idea if its good or bad.

Also...the mods are a complete mystery to me. There are so many 'skill mods' now...melee defense...general ranged accuracy...etc. etc. I have no idea what the 'caps' (If there are any) and what numbers are good to shoot for. Before, I remember alot of BH's taking alot of carbineer skill to pump up their accuracy mods and I remember that speed mods from carbineer weren't that important as you could 'cap' your carbine speed with some skill tapes. I look at the numbers now and have NO idea what numbers for things like accuracy and defense are 'overkill' and what numbers result in 'gimped'.

For instance...if I look at splitting MBH with a melee template I get middle numbers for ranged accuracy and such...but I also get more melee defense. But I have NO clue if that just serves to 'gimp' me.

From researching these threads...I've heard folks say that:

MBH

TKM

Is a GREAT Tank in PVE but lousy for hunting Jedi. However they didn't mention how it fared in 'regular' PvP.

I've seen alot of MBH's with:

MBH

MR

Pistoleer 0404

However, I'm not sure if this would fit my needs for PVE when adventuring with my wife, I'm not sure how it fares in regular 'duels' or other PvP. I just know its good against Jedi.

I've seen alot of MBH's with:

MBH

Mixtures of Carbines/Master Carbines and/or

Mixtures of Pistols/Master Pistoleer

For hunting Jedi it seems that alot of guys think this is 'overkill' and alot of redundant stuff. I can't seem to find much mention if anyone notices much difference with all the stacked mods and such...or all those stacked mods are just overkill. I also can't find much spoken of PVE success or regular PvP/duel success.

I've seen alot of MBH's with:

MBH

MR or MP

Combat Medic Mixtures

People mention 'wearing down' Jedi with this but I'm fuzzy on if its 'good' or not in PVE and PvP/duels.

Any help, suggestions, strategies, templates, equipment suggestions (favorite weapons), or anything you can offer would be of great help

Thanks!

I disagree. BHs who need to rely on Stim Ds for healing are the easiest of all BHs for me to beat. You don't have any staying power.

A CM 4xxx BH on the other hand... Those guys are like brick walls.

Tried MBH and MR and both 0404 Carbines and 0404 Pistols, I didn't like it. MR is too unpredictable, I prefer my attacks work at least 70 % of the time. Sniper shot was great when it worked but it never work in PvP lol. I think the best template is MBH, MC and Pistols 0404.........No contest.
