Thread: Were Players forced to PvP?

Pussycat complains about griefers. Yet by repeatingly gloating about that the game finally has gone her carebear way in every post, she manages to grief more people here than any BH could possibly have done ingame.

"There was lots of reading, much too much, in the game. There was a lot of wandering around learning about different abilities. We really needed to give people the experience of being Han Solo or Luke Skywalker rather than being Uncle Owen, the moisture farmer. We wanted more instant gratification: kill, get treasure, repeat. We needed to give people more of an option to be part of what they have seen in the movies rather than something they had created themselves."

Simply stating an opinion is not griefing, nor is it againt the TOS of the SWG boards. Every player has a right to voice their opinions on these boards, and nobody is forcing you to read any thread or any post that you don't agree with. It's funny -- when BH's did something that others might not like, you insisted that it was the right thing to do regardless of the fact that others might not like it. But if someone expresses an opinion you don't like about forced pvp... then you insist that it's wrong to do so. What a wonderful double-standard pvp'ers seem to have...

my PvP rating is i think 1188, but that's because i like to be stupid, i'll run into 50 imps, die in 3 seconds, wait 5 for them to start walking away then /regainconsiousness and watch them all come back like children in a game store playing wackamole lol.

I love PvP, and to me PvP rating means nothing because I'm a support template as a Master Enhancer, Master Sabers, Healer 4400. Yes, i do fair pretty well in 1vs1 PvP, in fact in my entire time as a Jedi i've only twice died to Bounty Hunters, including before i was full template.(actually both my deaths were prior to me getting the 4th skill box in any line. Pre-Cu i stayed off the terminals completely, and post-cu i figured there wasn't any point any more as i could get exp just as fast as i lost it most of the time)

In fact, when SL buffs first came out I had a master pistoleer/MBH, CM 4000 come after me with a SL buff and start hitting for 1400 dmg, i won that fight too. was a dang hard fight, but i did win.

PvP rating has never meant much to me, as I'm the player running around in Massive PvP, Stasising/suppressing the enemy forces so that our force has a smaller number of people to deal with.

Ekibe, **edit** already. You are in nearly every thread on the BH boards trying to rub peoples nose into this. Plenty and I mean plenty of Jedi like BH coming for them. You seem to be a minority. People accepted the fact that they would be hunted. But what you are doing is imposing your PvE idealistic views on us after accusing us of grieving and forcing PvP on you. **edit**!!!! You got what you wanted and a lot of us got what we wanted, the lack of an Alpha class. You laugh at us, we laugh at you, WE ARE ALL LAUGHING!!!! Damn you are driving us nuts with your constant stupid babble about forced PvP. It has been stated by too many people that you are wrong, when the majority says you are wrong then only thing left to do is BE WRONG.

Seriously, you are really starting to irritate people. For the record, pussycat plays on Wanderhome and is a part of the Wanderhome Rebel Alliance. Her ingame name is Ekibe. Just in case you guys wanted to know.

I love you shaike, will you marry me?

hehe, j/k

PvP was never forced on any player, if you don't want to be hunted, don't get visibility. Either that or DON'T GO JEDI!

most jedi out there did not go jedi to be "uber". I personally went jedi for the RP aspect, nothing more nothing less. ANd i will regret PvP missions going bye bye.

You grief by the way you express your opinion. By repeatedly saying the same thing over and over in a forum where a vast majority disagrees with you it is clear that the sole purpose of your opinion is to provoke people who have just lost a very big part of their reason to play this game at all.

Forced non PvP on everyone? Hardly. If a Jedi wants PvP, they can declare SpecForce, and I'm sure they can find PvP quite easily. If they want to be hunted, just stay SpecForce and go about your business, someone will hunt you soon. If a bounty hunter wants to hunt Jedi, go SpecForce and go look for SpecForce Jedi. Simple.

Stupid. If you are SpecForce ANYBODY or EVERYBODY could attack.

The only thing removed is the ability to attack them when they are not prepared for PvP, and the little waypoint saying "target here!" and the payout if you happen to win. And, of course, the flawed system that probably generated more nerf calls, exploits, and developer headaches than everything else in the game combined.

Not prepared? Geez. I must have been lucky to find only full temp Jedi that didn't need doc or med buffs. I got my butt handed to me more than I dished it out. So unprepared? I don't think so. I used to complain that I was a CL80 MCM / MBH with Doc and food buffs and STILL couldn't knock a dent in some of these guys.

The only way player bounties should ever return is as a completely voluntary signup at the bounty hunter mission terminals for people that enjoy being hunted. No 'put on the terms for doing something profession related,' no 'players taking bounties on other players,' and no 'bounties for getting too much negative faction from NPCs.' It should work, everyone touts how much they enjoy being hunted, or how many Jedi they know that will miss being hunted. There should be plenty of signups for prey if it's so fun.

The Jedi that I really want to kill are not the ones "acting true to self". Meaning that Jedi were not running around in starports flashing their sabers. Jedi were known to be mysterious. Jedi were also known to be secretive and mostly in hiding for fear of BEING PERSUED BY A BOUNTY HUNTER. It makes me sick of people playing this game and whining about certain aspects of it that apparently haven't even seen the movies! I became a Bounty Hunter because I WANTED to hunt Jedi. I also NEVER met a Jedi that moaned because I had their mission. THEY EXPECTED IT. So it ticks me off with the majority of Jedi are in favor of keeping player bounties and the select few that don't want it know how to cry loud enough for others to hear. The makeup of a MMORPG is interaction whether that is positive or negative. If you want a game were you feel "safe", go play something you can predict. COMPUTER VS. THE HUMAN MIND

The movies never showed or mentioned bounty hunters hunting Jedi. As far as the movies go, you only ever got to see BH's taking or working on missions to capture/hunt/kill smugglers, pilots and politicians. They never took a mission on a Jedi, when the Emperor issued order 66, he turned to Darth Vader and his army... he had no need for bounty hunters, he had a sith lord and a galaxy-wide army at his disposal, for crying out loud.

You know you're on to something here. Let Jedi be reb faction only and all imperials can take potshots at them at all times

And what about players who choose the Jedi profession and decide to go Imperial?

We won't allow any Jedi in our ranks.

Unfortunately this thread has outlived its discussion phase and has
become a lot of arguing and trolling, we will be closing it now.
