PC bounty missions are a must. 90% of why peopel sign up to become a bh if for the missions. the NPC missions just dont cut it. insanely tuff (can sometimes be good), usually a run into the middle of nowhere (at least at the low lvls. havent gotten to lvl 3 investigation yet) which imho is just stupid, and the mastery of BH doesnt give you access to any sort of bonus/special missions. Where is the benefit to being a bh? money-over-time is better with normal missions... so there is almost no incentive to become master.



...Ah but you say, "where is he going with this?" Here in is the idea that will keep griefing down as well as provide a reason for people to master BH instead of just getting a few lvls, and taking some other bunk skill like CH. *drum roll* PC bounty missions are only available to masters. I think it works. you also could put a limit on how often a bounty could be placed on a person. once a day, once a week? you decide.


(i havent read all the posts on this thread, maybe someone else posted something like this, but if they have that is even more confirmation that this is at least in part a good idea.)



maybe some tweaking to this idea is necessary, maybe you should have to appeal to the BH guild in order to take out a bounty. file a complaint and give proof of a good reason for the bounty.. ie: someone asking if they could buy some resources or something else, but offering to pay half now and half when they get the rest of the money... (eh, i've heard of people doing this but not as major as my next point), or when you give a smuggler your gun/armor to slice it for you, only to have him ninja it, or pretend that it is bugged and he cant give it back, also seen some (by no means a large portion) artisans who offer to repair weps/armor and ninja as well. these are good reasons to take out a bounty. im sure that there are a multitude of other reasons but im not gonna post em all.


with reguard to the BH guild/council... maybe soe could have a few tech/csr/dev people be the acting guild council.i know they have other duties so it would not be an instant creation of the BH mission, could take a day or two to get the contract put out. but this is much like the mafia, contracts arent put out without careful consideration for the consequences and the reason behind the desired despatchment of the mark. murder is a serious notion, so i think that the bh contract process should take a short while to impliment.


I feel this is a reasonable solution to the PC BH missions problem. would eliminate grief, and give the BH's something really awsome to look forward to.


Upon completion of the mission, the BH should have access to one item in the Mark's inventory that he/she can keep as a trophy. (now i know that items are most likely insured, and we dont want marks losing their gear, so maybe it would not actually the actual item belonging the mark, but a proxy... a copy with identical stats.) this would be a sweet reward system. The master BH would be feared and respected, as well as unable to be abused by those who would seek to grief a particular player.



I think this seems like a good solution, and wold give me real motivation to master BH.

Ps. I would also like to see a Gangster faction some time soon so that i can be a gangster BH, working for Jabba is my ultimate goal. that and killin PC's for loot/cash/FUN

I think that they care to much about the people who want everything easy and simple like regular rpg's. I wanted to be a BH but now that I've learned there are no PvP missions, i'm probably going to be a smuggler. The game should be tough and it should get frustrating when you get killed by a BH, but thats what makes it all the more real. Such a simple thing would and so much more that can be considered. And smuggler better get fixed to, no smuggling missions? Whats with that? They better have them when SE comes out.

When did they decided that PVP bounty hunting missions was "grief?" I don't remember that at all.

What I remembered was that BH PVP was put on hold because they couldn't implement player-created missions at launch, and the BH PVP system was designed around the populations ability to generate their own missions to hand out to other players.

I too believe that there should be a PVP bounties. It is just silly to create a PVP system (player vs player) then take away the very thing you are implementing. Player vs player is exactly what it implies and really the only ones that should be able to put bounties is the ones that are involved in the struggle. No newbie should be able to put in a bounty. Please implement Wits idea! Wits idea was the best I read and he had mentioned this Idea in Beta and believe it is a safe and clever idea.

I bought this game with the intention of hunting players as a bounty hunter, because that is what I read off the FAQ before the game was released. Put this feature back up, otherwise there is no fun in being a Bounty Hunter.

Devs , please read this, maybe let us know you are listening. The only Master BH can hunt players is awesome. I dont care if players can put up hits on other players. At least allow the "system" to place bounties on players. Even if it is really really rare, like a jedi , or someone who has killed a very high number of opposing faction players in a short time. Perhaps a shorter TEF window will keep abuse down to a minimum. Oh yeah.../bump

This is a PVP game, is it not, Devs? Let's go all out, give the people what they want (the same people that buy the game and pay your salary) and make it a PVP game.

I wanted to become a BH primarily for the Player Bounties. I will be sorely disapointed if they are ommited.
