LOL BH on Kashykk too hard? Is this a joke? I could easily kill 100 jedi in a week in this current system on kashykk. Taking the names off the terminals will actually force BH's to be a BH. A BH shouldn't "choose" his mission it should be given to him and he accepts it. If online Jedi and their faction was posted on theterminals I don't see what the issue is. You all want to "choose" your mark because you want to ensure yourself a victory or to grief someone. Shouldn't BH be all about the challenge? The thought of not knowing who the mark is should make it fun and exciting cause right now it's got to be boring. I know plenty of BH's that have given up the profession due to it not being fun anymore. As for mbh being a requirement. That sounds right but add a few tricks for the BH at the master box.

Go ahead flame away.

No, we want to choose the mission so that:

  • We don't hunt friends. Faction on terms should prevent this. You shouldn't have friends of the opposite faction. We are at war.

  • We don't hunt like faction. Same as above.

  • We don't waste time with jedi that are not online. Online status should be on terms

  • We can attack jedi that are showing off in cnet or theed or MO. Showing off in Cnet? Have you been there lately? Cnet is practically dead. Who exactly are they showing off in front of?

  • We can stop people from AFK grinding on the (insert favorit spot here - ie. Rryat Trail, Aakuan Champion Cave etc..) But it's ok for other people to do it just not jedi huh?

  • So we can role play, ask PCs for help in finding marks and learn the behaviors and habits so we know when its best to strike! Exactly, Boba didn't go to vader and say ""Hey let me hunt Han Solo PLEAAAASEE". That's the mark he was given. Boba never "choose" his mark.

At a minimum, if they are going to insist on doing this:

1. Add the jedi's faction

2. Give the mission an alias so groups can select the same mission

I understand why they are doing this, but there are consequences for this kind of thing. BH's are going to find their time wasted A LOT. In addition, its makes the jedi AFK grinders on Kashyyk virtually untouchable.

He knew he was going after Han Solo when he accepted the mission from Vader though. He wasn't told to go find "Smuggler X" with no lead to go off of.

The Jedi names are a way for thr BH's to filter out viable targets, including level of difficulty, faction, and wether they are exploiters or not.

Example: I am scouting the Webweaver...I come acroos the bridge, and see a group of Jedi. Half of the Jedi run to the LoS zone. I am able to take the names of the exploiters so I know it would be a waste of time to hunt them, especially since reporting them does absolutely no good. Now I can concentrate my efforts on the remaining Jedi. I can do this in each instance.

Take away the BH filtering process only hurts us more. Its bad enough that there are so many bugs and exploits standing against us, now SOE is putting inanother obstacle.

For all the Jedi posting here that the removal of names will make BH's actually Hunt and work....WRONG. The"Hunt" was slaughtered with the installment of Kashyyk. over 90% of Jedi are grinding on Kashyyk, so its not like there is alot of guessing where your target is, or Stalking, or planning, or....you get the picture.

Take away the names, and it will boil down to..."Did I get and Exploiter this time, or not?"

How is this supposed to help the BH vs. Jedi war? I don't see anything that this will accomplish at all. Sure you can say it will prevent "griefing" but I've been a MBH for a couple weeks since returning after the CU and I have only seen maybe 5 jedi on the terminals more than once. I have even tried to look for one specific player and I have still not seen his mission but one time after the first time I killed him, and I even chose not to accept it.

For one, this change goes completely against all role playing (this IS an MMORPG right??) and it also makes no sense. Think about it like this, a bounty hunter's job is to hunt their mark provided by their employer. Example, in Episode 2 Jango gets that changling (forgot her name) to try and assassinate Senator Amidala. How would this ever be possible if Jango knew her name but then told the changling girl "Go killa senator for me" She would never know who to kill. Same goes for Han Solo in the original movies. How would Boba Fett ever capture Han if he never knew his name? How would Vader employ all those bounty hunters to capture Luke if he did not tell them Lukes name? This change does not make any sense in a real life view or a Star Wars view. In real life there are "Bounty Hunters" although they are basically hitmen. These people kill people for a living and how would they ever do that if their employer did not give them the name, or any information about the person they were supposed to kill? It just doesn't make sense.

It is very obvious that the Devs do not think about these changes very much, if at all. Not only does this not make any sense but it totally goes against the whole idea of player bounties to begin with. I thought this was supposed to be the fun part about being a bounty hunter? You get to go and hunt actual players. If this change is actually implemented I do not see any reason to continue being a BH.How is anyone supposed to hunt a jedi on Kashyyyk? If droids do not work, and you don't know the name of the playeryou are hunting, it would be IMPOSSIBLE to find your target on that planet. So if this does happen I invision all jedi will never leave kashyyk until they are full template. Also, what happens if your target is offline? Do they really expect me to sit there and accept missions and go try to launch droids 10+ times until I actually find someone that is online????? Yea right you can forget about that. And what if I don't want to go hunt a padawan?

They cannot justify making these drastic changes to the profession. This goes against everything in the player bounty system. You cannot hunt a player without their name. Seriously what the hell is the point of this? To prevent griefing? Why don't they just add some kind of timer to prevent people from taking the same players mission over and over.... It would not be that hard and it would not require these kind of game breaking changes. Is this to prevent group hunting? Then why not make it so that only one person can have a Jedi's mission instead of up to 5.... There are a lot easier changes they could make to solve these issues. These changes are just not justified at all. Do they also expect me to just accept a random mission then show up at my mark, and oh look it's actually my best friend "Uh.. hey there bob... hows it goin... I guess I'll just go get another mission now." What if I really like role playing and I'm a member of the Empire? I show up at my mark ready to lay waist to some unsuspecting jedi, and it's actually my guild mate, and friend, and fellow imperial, Dark Jedi? Really... someone needs to smack the Devs in the face more than a couple times for these changes. They are absolutely game breaking. Someone please give me a good reason these changes should be made, and then tell me thereare no other solutions to those reasons....

Maybe you will be able to hunt smugglers soon. I don't recall seeing too many smugglers on Kashykk.

By itself, I don't mind anonymizing the Jedi missions. I routinely take missions on 200k+ Jedi. The biggest beef I have with this change is that it does not take into account the legitimate reason for targetting a specific named Jedi: MOST Jedi on the terminals are AFK, locked inside of a private house. One day I took missions on random Jedi all day, and 80% of the time I tracked the Jedi to a locked, private house.

If they go ahead with this change, then the terminals MUST say whether or not the Jedi is inside of a private house. Otherwise it will take 1-2 hours (something non-Power gamers do not have) to actually find a Jedi who is attackable and not in a private structure.

I do not know why all the bounty hunters do not forsee this scenario. It seems they are more concerned with their ability to form up gank squads, than it is to forsee the most negative ramifications of this change: Jedi in privaet structures.

I could care less anymore about this topic. If you need to be explained why anonymous name/payout missions is the most absurd thing to change about the system, then we're not on the same planet and there's no use trying to convince you otherwise.

So instead, let me offer my own suggestions for changes to the Jedi hunting system, posted from another thread (with a few topical updates). I hope this will ensure maximum cottlage for all the carebears who can't wait to start hunting blind.

- Replace all Bounty Hunter Terminals with the Test Center Frogs.

- Rename BH Terminals to "Black Box".

- All missions on the BH terms (now our black box frogs) will be labeled "Do Something". No further mission details given.

- BH mission payouts will range from 2 to 150 credits, with a 5,000,000 credit penalty for failed missions (EDIT: and now of course put the BH on the terminals themselves ).

- Once a mission is accepted, the bounty hunter cannot relinquish the mission ever, or until the Jedi sells his account on eBay, whichever comes first.

- If a bounty hunter comes within 10,000 meters of a Jedi, a system alert will display for the Jedi: "OMG TEH BH IS COMING UZ F0RC RUN"

- Bounty hunters will experience a 99% damage reduction.

- EDIT: New for CU: Attacking a Jedi will force all your attack specials to a 5-minute cooldown.

- EDIT: New for RotW: Any BH on Kashyyyk and holding a Jedi's missions will be instantly TEF'ed by feral wookiees. And Imperials. And any quest-giving NPC. And any player.

- EDIT: New for CU: Jedi now automatically get a hoverboardjet ski that can be attached to any multi-person vehicle! Just use /hahanoob on any vehicle, and you'll be able to sail away in tow as the vehicle owner drivers you to safety away from Mr. BH.

I would say perfect and perfect....

This is what the game has needed for a long time!

  1. No more griefing! You cannot selectively attack the same person over and over and over because they called you a little girley Bounty Hunter!

  2. You can no longer get 4 buddies to take the same Jedi mission! No more teaming for the win! Bounty Hunting is a solo profession not a gang up.

  3. You no longer can select the lowliest padawan to pick on to boost your ego!

  4. You cannot see a Jedi at a starport and go take his mission for fun!

  5. You cannot selectively take a Jedi mission while he is doing PvP!

OK, where is the down side?

Ohhh.. I have to do ALL of Bounty Hunter to get teh Skill!!!

Ummmm... WHAAAAAA.. try being forced to take Master Lightsaber... Try being forced to have to take defender... Try being forced to have to take 4004 healing to live.

Finally, Try getting NERFED for the millionth time! This is the FIRST and ONLY (not even a real nerf) that Bounty Hunters have EVER and i mean EVER gotten.

Suck it up... There is no downside here... None... Nada... Zip and Zero...

**EDIT** or get off the pot... Be a bounty hunter go do something else..

BTW, Good luck to all you stinking lowlife FRS Grinding Jedi Masters... So much for your little game!

PEACE!
