you can also get a set of lighter battle armor in the types mentioned above. this armor will provide less protection, but will not give you the restrictions.
i suggest you contact your local armorsmith and see what they can fix up for you since lighter armor isnt always kept in stock.
a good way to keep cost down is to provide your own battle cores. these can be looted from a variety of mobs and come in different strengths. you can do a vendor search and probably find several.
other than that try reading up on battle armor on the AS forum.

What type(s) of armor are most BHs wearing? I'm currently MCH + 3444 BH and wearing a set of Marauder (Battle cert from CH)... But will probably be dropping CH for something more complementary to BH.
Just curious what armor types most people are using.

It depends on the profession you pick up to be honest. IF you maintain a battle armor profession, then I would recommend a primus layered armor over an energy one. The reason being, the energy armor causes kin to drop below 5k resists which can sometimes be detrimental. With the primus, you are looking at resists of 6520 to 6560 in resists for both kin and energy damages. In addition, your base resists will still be in the 5400 to 5500 range which is very respectable. With the primus, you are only losing about 450 to 500 points of energy resist which will equate out to only a 3% to 4% change in overall protection, thus minimal. Where as if you take energy all the way, your kin resists are going to be dropping 13% to 18%.

Simply put, some jedi like to run through lairs to get bh to aggro the lairs, with kin armor this is going to make that issue a non issue. In addition, it makes a multi purpose armor to which your not going to have to change out armors everytime your doing something other jedi missions. IE, the boss marks that have kinetic type weapons.
