Seige was fun to play until they came out with the Age of Shadows expansion. Alot of people fled back to the Normal servers due to the item insurance and the new loot that u could lose in seige. I amnearly an8 year vet on UO, my subscription with Origin faded away last month. Seige is a PVP server, no trammel nooby ville. Many made characters there to just pvp for fun and nothing else.

But if a no jedi isnt popular they can always get rid of it. Try something is better than to try nothing,

I think what he said was most of the people on the first page and the person that started this. Everyone can have their own thougths on this. Hell I would not mind a server without Bh or Cm. See how dumb that is? Jedi is a part of StarWars either learn that orgo play something else.

Jedi are special. They are unique. They designed this game so that they would be special and unique. At some point, SOE decided that it was more important to bring in cash from the kiddies than to keep Jedi special and unique.

Naturally, I can't do a count, but:

How many more Jedi do you think are on your server than Master Rangers?

How many more Jedi do you think are on your server than Master Chefs?

How many more Jedi do you think are on your server than Master Droid Engineers?

How many more Jedi do you think are on your server than Master Smugglers?

Jedi are no longer unique if they're one of the currently top played profession. I just about any Lok group these days, there are 1-2 Jedi. That's really sad.

There's nothing unique or special about Jedi anymore. Give us a Jedi free (or Jedi/Permadeath - I am STRONGLY for a permadeath server. Jedi will mean something there,) server, and make Jedi special again.

I strongly doubt that this would happen - despite the fact that it would be a great boost to the GCW battlegrounds currently dominated by jedi (at least on my server) - because I suspect that jedi would be the only ones left on many servers.

Now THAT would be funny. I'd visit just to hear "dewl mi d00d," "dewl mi d00d," "dewl mi d00d," "dewl mi d00d," "dewl mi d00d," because they'll have their uber power, their uber sabres, get bored and have nothing left to do but /duel each other. The rest that are into PvE would likely just quit.

Never underestimate the power of veteran players and their impact on gaming companies. As said earlier, in UO we had/have a server dedicated to PvP primarily, no holds barred, veru difficult server (although it's a little easier now)

Players, particularly veteran players (in this game, 2+ years) can and will have an impact. Does little johnny who spend the summer grinding to Padawan care about this game after the summer? Likely not. It's the veterans and long-time players that make the game run. Piss them off, and trouble start. I've watched it first hand. They even had to shut down a UO server when the entire population (think it was the Great Lakes) serverpopped into one zone, all wearing red in discust. The servers were brought back up after time, but the issues the players were fighting for were addressed. Almost immediately.

Have faith. It could happen.

/bravo! Thats what I like to hear! The naysayers here are minimal compared to those who are interested in such a server. Most think it would flourish and even outdo the current jedi infested servers. It would be great to see a trial server go up and see how things went, who knows, maybe we would get our timeline!

I am really trying to be fair. So do not take this as a flame. I read the first page and almost everyone that posted just started in 2005. No name calling here but the person that started this thread along with most of the people that support this idea are new to swg. If you dont like the game then stop playing. You guys always tell us if we dont like this nerf or that nerf to jedi stop playing... dont you think its time to start listening to your own advice?

I know that youre not flaming, and just trying to point out some facts. But Ive been playing since pub 9, and only recently registered on the forums. There are alot of people who wait untill later to register on the forums, so thier registration date doesnt reflect thier actual online time.

That being said...Even if someone has 6 months, or a year. They all pay thier dues, and have a right to a say. And just because someone hasnt been playing since launch, and has only a few months, doesnt mean that they cannot see what is happening around them, and are unable form a point of view.

DEMAND a Jedi Free Server!!

A very fair observation. Here's another one. A lot of the veterans that gave a damn about the future of this game have left. Want to take a guess why?

Yep... and here's another point:

The way I see it there are 2 types of players of this game... MMORPG people and Star Wars people...

MMORPG people are just here to playan MMO and don't really care about SW and the facts. These people will immediately begin the path to Jedi simply because it's the strongest character to be, and being "uber" is a priority. They don't understand that this game cannot be compared to the likes of WoW, EQII, UO, etc... because the SWU has already been created and has a following that feels strongly about it.

Star Wars people are here for the right reasons. They're fans of StarWars and actually give a damn about continuity and the facts. They'd probably be more hesitant to go the way of the jedi because they know that they'd just be contributing to the blatant inconsistency this game is plagued with.

Of course there are many variations of these 2 types.

To respond to Artisan1's post, it's not that the supporters of this idea do not like the game, it's just that there is so much potential in SWG, and it's difficult for a StarWars fan to 'stop 'playing' when nothing else will ever come along that can emulate existence in the SWU the way that SWG can. With a few changes...which are obviously the right ones, this game can be absolutely perfect.

Jedi were a part of the Star Wars MOVIES. Within those movies, a universe was created. A universe where it is made abundantly clear that Jedi are extinct at this time.

BHsand CMs belong here, JEDI DO NOT. It is important to people who actually have a little knowledge of SW for this to be recognized. It is difficult to achieve any real immersion while the SW environment is being ruined by beings that arent even supposed to be here.

Players with the quoted mindset are the ones that should play something else, because they obviously know nothing of StarWars.

You're absolutely right Apache!

The GCW is the very foundation of this time period. How can you have fun participating in the GCW as a "Norm" when you can't make it 5 feet without being killed byjedi who have no place here?

I'd pay 100 bucks to move my character to a timeline correct server. With a limit of 10 light and 10 dark jedis. Permadeath would ensure that these jedi slots were rotating, so alot of players stillwould have the chance to play a jedi.

I think the main reason present jedi players dont want completely jedi free servers is that they wouldnt have anyone to show-off for if we all 'norms' left for such a server. And thats whats driving them crazy.

i actually feel sorry for some players that have jedis, expecially the ebay jedi players cause they never really got into the other professions to see how fun they can be. The jedi powers in my opinion are a handycap. You are playing with a handycap that gives you a boost in fighting power that makes it easier for you to PVP or PVE. The only challenge you get is fighting other jedi players with the same handicaps or really good non-jedi PvPers that can offset your boosted combat abiltys.

With a Non-jedi server everyone is about the same combat wise and its up to you and your group's skills and tactics to win the day and not the pearl-damaged stack saber that hits for 1800 damage.
