Bounty Hunter Archive
Thread: Publish 6 and Broken BH Missions Info Requested.
3 missions so far today have been bugged. in a row. the first was on naboo. in between deja peak and kadaara. I searched the area for THOUSANDS OF KILOMETERS around the area...back and forth, to and fro...nothing, so I aborted.
Mission # 2 :OH, lucky me...another one located on Naboo (from kadaara a usual) in between deja peak and keren. searched for 30 minutes. when he finally shows up at the waypoint, we fight for about 1 minute, then he completely disappears, but the mission is still in my data pad (unlike some others I've had where the whole thing, target, waypoint and datapad just disappeared).
Mission # 3 : the Wayfar ghost
Tatooine. BH mission from Kadaara. fly into bestine, waypoint is right outside the starport, deploy seeker droid. target located in Wayfar. I see the waypoint coming up from the middle of the cantina. I go inside "tab-target", and a blue box with my target's name is "floating" above me. as if his feet were where my head was. this is the 2nd time, exact location and everything, that this has happend to me.
I don't know about the rest of you, but I right a Bug report every single time a mission is bugged, asking for my money back from the travel, droids, and time (xp loss). do I REALLY want these things? no, I just want to pay my 15 bucks a month and have fun being a BH ( the reason I bought this game).
I'll try to be as specific, and objective as possible on this in the hope that something can be done to correct the problem.
Since July 2003, it has been reported on inumerable occasions that Bounty Hunter Targets are not spawning in the areas indicated by the Seeker Droids. This morning, between 07:00 and 13:00 GMT, I have personally sent four Bug reports on this very issue, because four of the seven missions I started, ended with no target spawning at the indicated Waypoints. I have no idea how many in total both I and other Bounty Hunters have sent since July 2003, yet the issue continues to frustrate and annoy us, not to mention the cost in Probe Droids, Seeker Droids, Travel Expenses, lost Bounty Credits and our own personal time.
I, and other Bounty Hunters on the Infinity Server have started to send bug reports every time the issue crops up, which, for some unknown reason, is becoming more and more frequent. I always send my bug reports in the same format, so rather than go into specific mission details, I hereby reproduce the format and content that I usually use to inform of the Bounty Hunter Bug:
Bounty Hunter Missions - Infinity Server
Mission Terminal: Kaadara (outside Starport)
Target Bounty: <name taken from mission description in DataPad>
Reward: <reward amount in credits>
Difficulty Level: <level>
Probe Droid indicated that target was located on <planet>. I took shuttle transport to the indicated planet and immediately launched a Seeker Droid. Seeker Droid indicated Target to be at <waypoint or location city>. When Seeker Droid reported it had lost track, I launched another Seeker Droid while I transited to the indicated Waypoint. Seeker Droid updated Target's Waypoint and I arrived at Waypoint to find no Target either at the Waypoint or the surrounding area. Launched another Seeker Droid, which indicated the same Waypoint as the previous Seeker Droid, and continued to update to that Waypoint. However, as previous, no target at that WP or in the area to 1000metres. Ranger tracking used, no target on Track.
(Head butted wall, screamed obscenities, stamped feet and went for a walk to calm down)
So, that is the generic content of the four bug reports that I sent just this morning. In total, I wasted 4 Arakyd Probe Droids, 11 Seeker Droids, Travel Expenses to the amount of 7,200 credits, Bounty rewards to the total of 108,000 credits, a lot of my personal time and an increase in blood pressure.
I'm curious. What is so difficult about fixing this bug. I understand that code is complex for an MMORPG like this, but in my, uneducated, mind, I cannot see the difficulty in making a target spawn. Be aware that the bug has been evident since July 2003, and Bounty Hunters across all the Galaxy's have been raving about it, but still it exists. To have four out of seven missions aborted because of this bug, as I had this morning, is annoying and frustrating. I'm not flaming, I'm not complaining per se, I'm just annoyed at the bug remaining evident and no information as to why it happens or when it will be fixed. This, together with the warping issue, has got to be one of the longest running bugs in this game, reported on inumerable occasions both in these forums and in other popular sites. I must say that this post by me has got to be the most polite post given on the subject as some of the posts on other sites have had me turning to a dictionary to look up the meaning of some of the adjectives and Nouns used to describe the Devs. It's simple, I hope, please fix it so that I can enjoy the game without having to take an hour out of it to calm down from a wasted morning like this morning.
Regards
well said aprilla
My wasted time is what really nothers me the most
and I have been having better success as anothe posted by using me carbine instead of llc and im getting about a 75% success rate now but in either case it should be a 100%.

Failed Missions.
Investigation II.
Starport: Keren
To: Lok
Reason Failed: Mark did not appear in place droids reported back, several droids reported the same spot over and over, mark was not there or surrounding area.
Starport: Keren
To: Endor
Reason Failed: Mark did not appear in place droids reported back, several droids reported the same spot over and over, mark was not there or surrounding area. Mark did not jump planets as droids did not report this.
Keren > Smugglers Outpost > Mining Outpost > Mark outside of outpost.
Starport: Keren
To: Tatooine
Reason Failed: While mark showed up in wayfar cantina, however, the mark was invisible and could be targeted, but non-attackable. Relogging resulted in the mark attacking me while logging in, and death blowing me. Mark was invisible, and could not be attacked during that time. Kind of resulted in a floating wraith type effect. ie. a ghost.. *gasp*
I am not REALLYsure.
But since i DO NOT use my droids FROM my VEHICLE i didnt experienced another "empty" mission.
They seem to stuck in walls whenever they want. But i was everytime able to get them out of the wall.
Just a suggestion to all those posting in this thread.
Instead of saying ... I had 5 missions all missing at the way point ... This sucks, etc.
Tell tanks as he requested what planet your mission was on , your level of investigation. what galaxy you play on etc.
Lets be helpful and give as much info as we can. Tanks posted a link to this thread for the devs to read.
They just may be able to fix it if you gave them more info then .... this sucks fix this now!.
