You have no Idea what it take to grind Jedi if you think it can be done in 3 months. First the village cycles every3 weeks and you have to do 6 quest there just to open 6 legs to get FS boxes you need to start the paddie trials. Late I check3 x 6 =18 so if you can get18 weeksto be3 month then maybe you can fix this game with the same magic. How bout you knowing your facts and by the way Jedi were in the game before Holos came.

So I look back to the begining. Yeah no jedi, must be the reason (Of course the fact that its a brand NEW game with everyone starting on the ground level, had nothing to do with the fun factor.... yeah right, try being a Noob now with no friends.Jedibe dammed it would suck Cl80s running around and you have no idea how to get thereThen reality hit. I was a BH all the way, but who whined for forced PVP?, who whined for Jedi marks? When the jedi had a LS that the MOVIE portayed as a unblockable weapon, who whined to get it changed? Heck Iswitched to hunting NPC's because its SO much easier to get what I wanted.LOOT and credits. Its way faster and easier to knock out 10+ NPC missions thanone 35 min fight with a jedi. I get MORE credits and get the almightlyBUGS and occasionally CA. I even consider myself a player that is respectful and I'm out there takin easy street when its offered.
Which leads me to this. Yeahthe Jedi have a @#$TON of posts but then if they are SO great and have the DEVS ears why are they getting Nerfed???
Nowthere are a FEW MBH/FOTM and Jedi that actually like to usethere templates to win a fight they might not have without proper use.
HOWEVER, the majority of the players would rather bang on the keys and kill everything they see with no brain power except the thrill of pressing the toolbar keys in NO particalur order. They DO NOT want to worry about dying, losing XP, etc. They want to get as many credits as they can, to buy the neat little toy SOE throws out there I call it the Toy OfThe Month. l used to play WWIIOL ( same nerfing line of BS went over there too, the guys that never called for a nerf were told they were too powerful so the Rats nerfed them so a bunch of computer geek whiners with no friends "you know who you are" could drive into the teeth of an ATG without dying) it required some actually brain power, you actaully had to aim and then pray the lag didnt make your bullet disappear on the way.
I came to SWG and was digusted with the Macros I'd see, a bunch of morons figured out they could write a macro and sit in the meatlump spawn on C-net AFK till they had enough skill to AFK macro higher MOBS.
It required ZERO skill and I quit because IMHO I'd like to think fun requires aiming, planning, execution. Not pounding the toolbar, then the fact that SOE made the Doctor profession the MOST POWERFUL, as you couldnt kill a THING with one. People forget this fact WAY to easy.
Yes there was the Infamous WOOKIE WHINE, that to this date could NEVER be touched no matter how the BH or Jedi whine. But back to the task at hand
See I know as a MBH I was jealous ( I'm actaully a 27yo adult with a pretty cool career) of the jedi that were ... well... jedi. I wanted to e one So I would kill them till the brain kicked in and said "dude take NPC missions more $$ more loot" SO recently I have been regrinding my MBH temp. Im trying to find a good mix of dabbling beside FOTM temps. So i havent stopped taking missions. Its pretty sad when a CL64 is taking out a Low-Boss Cl72. I have 3k ham, he has 19k. I have a Droid and CM4XXX. But Hey SOE is gonna let me away with it im not complainin.
So lets Break down Jedi Vs BH.
1. Most jedi just wanted to be jedi because of the SW movies- Not to be a UBER ELITE ( I know the script kiddies are screaming that Im spelling it out) PVP Masters.
2.BH's have managed to somewhat quitely convince the SWG community that Jedi ruined the game when---- JEDI were introduced to give the BH whine that they needed PVP jedi to hunt a rest.
3. Jedi made themselves a Target when the little school kid decided to wave around his glowstick in the C-net starport every chance he got while the Dr.s where buffing, driving the jealously factor through the roof. No one wanted to hologrind, no one wanted the current jedi grind along with the CL80 grind.
4. In all This SOE could have solved this JEDI VIS issue, Im talking the idiots running around with a LS in populated areas, by having NPC bounty hunters, that caused a LOSS of XP.
4a. However SOE allowed players to punish players with the JEDI only loss of XP. Now if we follow the movie/book script we will find that OWK, took out the best BH in the galaxy and OBK wasnt a master or guardian. Point very very BH's possessed the skills to kill jedi. SOE should implement a loss of BH standing or XP. Make a BH that losses unable to pick jedi missions, or lose that Master BH box that is so hard to get.
5. Lets be honest its a BH skewed world out there. WE can buy 200mil suits of armor, we can buy a sick weapon... the best a jedi can do is a 700dam saber. WE can prebuff and easily get our health to 6000k+ with a crystal. Then we pick the time and place. We can heal like a doc and the Devs keep giving us more. If you arent happy with this then I recommend you STOP USING MBH FOR YOUR JEDI GRIND, and start scouting. I hear the FS XP is 8:1.
5a. you are mostly attacking a guy with no buffs and a using a grinding saber. Yet this is not good enough.
6. Point is if you want to bang keys go after boss marks... or did the Devs make this a bit harder too? My suggestion find a creature group or NPCs (stormtroopers are a good one) and drag the boss into them, works like a charm.STOP making the MBH look bad with your constant whining that X profession is ruiningthe GAME, noone cared the Dr.s would make 50 mil in a DAY as early as march 05.
STOP Screaming that all Jedi do is RUN, when YOU run like a sissy when you come across a MDEF MLS ( die like a true gamer)
STOPscreaming KILL KILL KILL, you should be taking up the smuggler fix issue instead of worrying about jedi that honestly leave most peoplealone. I have not ONCE had a runin with a jedi. I usually get DUELS from TOOL MBHs that dont like it when i tell them to clean up their act.
STOP Going around giving grind groups vis...Completely the stupidest thing in the game A. you almost never get that CL50 paddy's mission B: youcan get easily argoed but a smart grinding group.
Point stop being hoiler than thou, stop saying its all the jedi;s fault when if MBH was out of the game there would be no need for JEDI. Lets be honest. If you want jedi out then you need to leave as well. SOE could of course step inand make JEDI Mission Terms, to go along with ALL the other mission terms, and let thePVE people enjoy themselves.
ANDNEVER EVER forget you great BH that YOU are the Reason there area JEDI.We needed someone to kill besides the NPC. We finally mastered bounty hunter, and found killing marks for 30k boring and sometimes YOU GET what you ask for.
/agree 100! Best post since a long time, Great attitude, A true BH attitude, BH's are in this for the money, Not to grief...
OWK did not beat the best BH in the galaxy. It was a stalemate. Jango Fett took out a few Jedi before his jetpack failed and Mace beheaded him. Let's look at this a second...
Obi-Wan had Jango pinned as would have apprehended himif Boba did not shoot blaster cannons from the Slave ship (how everyone dismisses this is laughable). Jango did NOT take out a few Jedi, he shot Coleman Trebbor when Coleman was pre-occupied on the suprised Dooku (Coleman was a Consular, they are not known for fighting since their Form 6 is a diplomatic style, also some say in EU writings now that Dooku had some stasis like effect on Coleman since he could not draw saber in time which aided Jango)
Obi-Wan Kenobi... at this time in the movies, was already a Jedi Master. Jango Fett brought a Jedi Master to a stalemate. During the Genosian battle Jango Fett killed multiple Jedi with ease and I do believe that the one that was attacking Dooku on the balcony was actually a Jedi Master and was a part of the council. Mace Windu, also a Jedi Master was able to kill Jango because of damaged equipment.
Obi-Wan did NOT become a Jedi Master until the Clone Wars Cartoons. He was not a master, he was only a Knight at this time. In order to become a Knight, you had to have a Padawan to become a successful Knight. Again, watch the damn movies, he did not kill "multiple with ease". He killed Coleman Trebor who was at a vulnerable state via Dooku. Coleman was a Consular not a Master. A Consular are the "psychiatrist diplomat" Jedi. Read up on Jedi Consulars and you will see they were never heavily trained for fighting, only diplomacy.
So we know that the best BH in the galaxy has at least a50% success rate in killing Jedi Masters and he tied once. With that being said, Jedi Knights would be a walk in the park for him. Which means that since there is no FRS, there are no Masters and there for, The Jedi should be dropping like flies.
Every single BH that was in the movies died. If you read the Star Wars books of the Original Trilogy, Boba killed off the other BHs in order for him to be the one to reach Han Solo. It was acompetition. That is where this game lacks its integrity and depth.

Mmmm... it can take 3 months. Albeit you would need a bit of luck and a lot of help.
You dont count the first unlock and the last unlock as full cycles.
Say a new player gets the game three days before phase 1 is over. His friend gets him glowy in one day. The next two days the old man shows up and his friend helps him with the siths. This leaves him one day to unlock phase 1. His friend helps him.
The next day phase shifts, and he unlocks phase 2 with his friend's help again. Already 2 unlock and not a week has passed. He spends the rest of this time to level his CL to 80.
So now it's:
week 4: 3 unlock
week 7: 4 unlock
week 10: 5 unlock
week 13: 6th unlock
Sundal
Do you work or play 24 hours a day to get glowy in one day that is a GREAT task in itself not one may working people can do. I would like to hear from anyone that got glowy in one day. I do work so it took me a lot longer then 3 months to get my jedi and a lot longer then 3 months to grind it out. But BH that can be done in say a week end or so I hear so even if someone could manage to grind Jedi in 6 months. still a far cry from a weekend BH.
I know :-)

Folks like me do not get to make those kind of calls. People who script/code are very similar to plumbers. If the bosses wants us to put a toilet in the center of the living room, we redirect the pipes, dig a hole and install that toilet in the center of the living room. I may be able to put one of those cakes in it that turns the water blue, but that toilet is going in the center of the living room.
Just got to know does your boss ever wonder why nobody comes round his house any more, and his friends have stoped returning his calls. And when he tried to sell his 'orginally' designed house the estate agent just laughed at him?
NOW that's funny...i love this guy!
Sarcasm is king

I was thinking that when reading the posts!! LOL I think the single man would prefer the toilet in the computer room though.

Oh man, now I have to explain how that toilet got there with the pretty blue water. =P
My computer room is the living room!

This has a feel of longevity to it, finality. Most peeps continue to be in the other game's voice channel, and there is NOBODY doing anything related to combat right now, and they say they will not until something changes - a whole lot of people just decided to take a powder from SWG. And since they just decided to make Jedi 0.65 of other combat professions, and make everything unbalanced for everyone, introducing more nerfs instead of fixing the root issues with SWG (the lack of engaging combat venues, arenas, battlegrounds to engage us in multiplayer combat beyond the fictional, mythical 1v1 equality of two players,) who can blame everyone for tossing in the towel?

The game is ruined. Publish 24 leveled the killing blow, now we're just dying.
My guild is demoralized past a point of recovery, I believe. We've got a huge guild of old timers and new timers, and on voice coms right now, and since P24, for the very first time, we have a channel for @o@ game. Oops, hit the wrong key... And we've got half of our guild in that channel, with new toons set up, and a third of our group on coms, online but afk, when it would normally be hopping with all kinds of ventures going on. This was the dark blow.
The players could only take it so long before the spirit, the hearts and souls of the fans were snuffed.

WoW, you just described my guild perfectly, its uncanny how similar our situations are... i suspect this is commonplace since pub24, old timers new timers , voice chat that is a mere shell of its former self since pub 24.. with the exception ofa vibrant and chatty "world of --------" channel with all of my friends in it starting new toons and meeting up to adventure and have fun in a game that works, where they havent forgoten the "fun factor".
I've already played that game, had some fun sure , its just not what i want ,i want to play Star Wars Galaxies the way it could and should be, I want to bea StarWarstype character withStar Wars weapons and Craft Star Wars type things i want to interactwith Star Wars type characters and Travel around and explore Star Wars type places!
But i lose more and more faith as the nerfs roll down hill every publish , game breaking events , not just the bugs, they are bad enough, but now were talking working asINTENDED AND TESTED changes that haveruined aspects ofthe game.. its inexcusable and seems to bea common theme lately
balancing should be done with a scalpel and not a machette ,finely polished .. not sandblasted ... im sure "they" know this.. why they dont put it into practice is still a mystery
