It's a ripoff I can't use my Scatter Pistol anymore. Before CU, I was a Novice BH, and i could kill almost anything while buffed with it. Except for nightsisters, but my TKM buddy and I had them on the run lol. Good thing my rep blaster was almost uber before CU. I use Underhand SHot/Concussion SHot/ and Critical Shot, then if stll alive, sme quickdraws mixed with critical.


I'm an adventurer, so I have Ranger0000/BH2111(likely to respec to get some more BH) SMuggler/ CH


I know, I'm stretched. Does BH have a good root attack? Haven't seen. I'll get rid of CH. SMuggler I'll get rid of if BH has a good root attack.

It does not have a good root attack. Most people are using pistols stopping shot for that I wold say.

I went carbineer it's good but the best I have found is MBH/ Master rifles because what you do is hit a jedi from really far away with an underarm shot for the knockdown and then hit him with Improved head hit and you can watch half of his bar disappear. If you want to get really sneaky use cover shot from a distance but this will lead him to do two things search the area for you or run. Alot of newer low level jedi will run. But the master rifle does the best damage by far and if the jedi starts to gain on you improved knee cap shot after the underhand shot will really piss him off.

I am really having a hard time deciding between a few templates, and would like to hear some opinions on them

MBH/MCommando/4000Smuggler

I thought this was going to be my favorite Commando based template, but I could be wrong. I get a lot of general ranged speed (75), I can use concussion shot from smuggler, and I get all the cool weapons from commando. The problem is that the cool weapons from commando don't do all that much damage (despite commando supposedly being rated a 5 for damage), and the aoe damage and dots are in various states of bugginess right now. Also, there is only 160 general ranged accuracy and the only real damage special I have is adv. critical shot. This greatly hampers my actual damage output, and the cool factor from commando and smuggler are not enough to make up for it right now.

MBH/MCommando/0400Carbineer

This is where I am at now, and I am liking this better as far as commando goes. I lose the root from smuggler, but pick up the snare from carbineer. My general ranged speed goes down to 60, but accuracy goes to 200...plus I have full accuracy for carbs (65) and at least some carbine speed to augment my use of carbines (I used carbines exclusively pre-CU). I also have two damage specials that I can chain together quite nicely, adv. critical shot and improved leg shot. Using these two together GREATLY enhances my actual damage output even though the modified dps listed on all my weapons has gone down. Plus, the extra accuracy has had a measurable effect on the damage that my single shots have. The lesson here is that the dps on the weapons screen does not seem to be the end all be all measurement for actual damage output. The only negative I see here is the lack of a root.

MBH/MCarbineer/4004Pistoleer

I can stick with my carbines, but still use pistols effectively. General ranged speed is 65, accuracy is only 175...but I have total carbine speed of 115. Adding in some skill enhancers it seems like more than enough. I also now have all recovery specials. What I like most about this is that I have access to two good kd attacks, a snare, and a root...plus three area attacks. Also, I keep the adv. critical shot, improved leg shot combo to lay down serious damage. Putting this together with a proton carbine or my E11 mk 2 makes me feel very dangerous.

MBH/MCarbineer/0404Pistoleer

Haven't actually tried this one yet...but it goes together with my recent judgements on the importance of extra speed vs. accuracy. General ranged speed goes down to just 55, but accuracy jumps to 215. Again, with skill enhancers I should be able to get speed up to more than acceptable levels and that is a big accuracy jump. I also have kd, root, and snare represented again, as well as improved disarming shot (which I have yet to try out). Planning to put my last 4 skill points into fs ranged speed to give a little speed boost. This might be the winner for non-commando templates I'm considering.

Those are my opinions...anybody have suggestions?

My toon is MBH/Mcarbineer/0400 cm I wouldnt change it for anything....Its got it all and is really fun. I have only lost one duel and it was to a root finatic....But once I get fire, and poison on at the same time even if im rooted they are still taking dmg so I usually come out the winner....Havnt fought a full template CM/whatever really though that might be scary....with all those roots and such.....but since they break on dmg now roots are not to bad.

The most (offensive) people have something like this:

-mbh, mcarb, pistol xxx4

- mbh, mpistol, carb 44xx

- mbh, mrifle, something


But which of those is the best vs jedi's? It looks like those templates are pretty much equal in strength. And no more master marksman?

Currently MBH/Pistols 4/4/4/4, haven't had a chance to take on Lord Nyax or anything too high. How is the MBH/MP combo against Lord Nyax or a night sister?


Would rifles be better? It seems like MR is the thing to have to hunt jedi, which I also want to do. How effective is it on PVE?

`is it still viable to only have the investigation line in BH and have other profs coupled with it? like MRM, MP, and 4 xx x BH ? oris the extra mods a must? and has anyone had good succes with only 4 x x x BH and your ranged prof(s) of choice?


i'm thinking about templates with that instead of the usuall MBH, MRM, few lines in pistoleer.

I have a template that is different from most thatI have read about....


MBH 4-4-4-4, Smuggler 0-4-4-4, TKA 4-0-0-0. This puts me at a combat level of 76. Clearly I am not the strongest template going, and am not likely to be hunting jedi alone, or soloing massive mobs.... but that's ok. I like the benifits of meditate (I can heal all of my own damage without using stimpacks or waiting for/ traveling to a doc). Power boost is also a nice little bonus that does not require anything except a moment to sit and meditate.I just wish I had a few extra skill points....just a few more!.....


I had a hard time deciding between MBH and MS. Decided to go with the MBH and wait and see if/when they revamp the smuggler prof....


I hunt most often with one other player who is a master smuggler TKA 4-4-0-0 and working to master pistols (currently 1-3-4-4, combat level 79). We find that the combo of these two templates work well together to take on missions with a combat level between 79-82.

Hi after coming back aftera 7months break, finding everythings changed and that my TKA ain't really great anymore. I've decide to respec. I wasn't gonna give up MDE or MA but now am.


So I respeced to


MBH, MRifleman and Brawler 4332



What do you think of that? I'm really not sure if its any good. I wanna be able to kick arse obviously. I just had a PvP with a MBH which wasn't a good idea 'cause I got knocked down and didn't even get a chance to get up before dying. My combat is 80 obviously but I still died quick. I asked what his othe professions were but he wouldn't tell me. Moaned about being an original 1.5 year old MBH and not a respeced one, sad git.


So any help would be great thanks.

A template I tried was Master Commando, MBH, TKA 4000


The ability to meditate wounds and powerboost was appealing and worked good for little down time. Also get force of will to break incaps and avoid death blows.


I hated commando's AOE so I am gonna respec to something else.
